Excellent mood, definitely evokes the theme. The part with the several small jumping blocks all in a row was quite difficult, took me a few tries. Overall nice work, especially for a first game. Keep at it :)

I agree with BlennosoftGames, especially on the small blocks, it took a while ;)

summaky 2011-12-23 18:38

I especially liked the music; it sets the mood perfectly. Jumping around somewhat felt weird, as I expected the player to jump higher perhaps. Also, it falls too slow and I feel that I have to wait too long for her to die (and it happened a lot to me…)

I couldn't play past the 4th level showing me an error message that it couldn't find the Sun.png file. I downloaded the "Unix-like" option. Moreover, the glow file doesn't have the "#!/usr/bin/env python" and as it starts with an import statement, at first it tried to call ImageMagick's import command on my system :-)

summaky, thank you, i have fixed all this fails, but i forget to update file on the server. It's up to date now.

This is a good platformer, with a great mood. Like the other said, the small blocks level was tricky

jeffz 2012-01-02 11:37

Jumping is a little frustrating, otherwise nice music!

covebit 2012-01-02 20:33

Pretty decent :)

zazery 2012-01-06 21:46

The part where you see the red square in the distance is quite powerful. Jumping was a bit frustrating.

maato 2012-01-06 21:48

I agree with the others about the small blocks level. For me it would have been easier if the player doesn't jump immediately after landing if you still have the space bar pressed down.

Nice game though.

commando 2012-01-07 20:27

Wow, that was a nice game! I love happy endings. Agree about the jumping thing, and I also had some difficulty on the small blocks level. Great game though.

matthias_zarzecki 2012-01-07 20:31

Quite solid platformer. Love the music and the way the sotry is conveyed.

seagaia 2012-01-07 21:52

I really like the song!

kitch 2012-01-08 00:08

Really good for a first try. As mentioned above, the jumping was a little wanky... But the levels were well balanced for it.

stargoat 2012-01-08 01:32

Jumping was kind of strange. The platforming was kind of frustrating at times... I think greater jump height would go a long way.

I liked the way the narrative unfolded.

raptor85 2012-01-08 04:01

bizarre jump physics, but overall ok. Super hard to see your guy though.

yipperpants 2012-01-08 06:20

Glad that "what went wrong" on your postmortem was only packaging. I'm sure you'll be just fine with that for the next go around. Artistic level design principle that I recommend: use neutral colors for the bg, warm colors to shape what's interactive (like platforms and the ground) separate from the bg, and highlight your character. Though impressively moving work for your first game (in a ld48 nonetheless!). :D

benjamin-soule 2012-01-08 06:27

It's a nice entry. It could have been even better with few work on animation ( 2-3 frames for walking +1 jumping would be enough ) The music and story telling are very good. On my computer, the jump sound happens too late : I hear it while I'm in the middle of the jump. It really take off the punch of the jump

sirius_black9999 2012-01-08 15:21

welll, the "what is this world?" level was pretty much twice as difficult as all the other, and the game crashed on the final screen, i liked the game a lot, though(i finished it, as opposed to most games i play, if that says anything :P)

murrayl 2012-01-08 20:13

It was clear from the snippets of text in the game that English isn't your first language, but I think this added to the overall quirky feel of the game.
Really enjoyed it.

veralos 2012-01-09 02:58

The jumping is a bit awkward. I think that's because the player moves up for a bit then moves down, rather than having gravity that gradually changes its vertical speed.

Despite that, the game is quite fun. The graphics are decent, though they should be more consistent. Some things are very pixellated while others aren't. I really enjoyed the music and the theme was also used well.

hazard 2012-01-09 14:42

The music and mood are very nice. Graphics are a bit too minimalistic for my taste, though. Also when you do a platformer try to at least get a nice jumping curve, cause its a problem when the most central mechanic of your game feels bad. And the game crashed when i reached her "after many years". :(

starlight 2012-01-09 19:28

About crashing in the end: i don't know why it happens. I tried on 5-6 pcs, it crashed only on one of them.

fredericrp 2012-01-09 23:17

Any gameplay video for the mac users please ?

rawbits 2012-01-10 01:55

Not bad, but he should jump higher. And it's bad to wait for the moving platform soo long.
