Interesting art and audio style. Love the dog.

coolway99 2014-12-08 03:17

Overall I like the concept. However you have one person (though understandable). And it seems more like a relaxed game than anything. It would be better with a bit more interactivity than sit and click on walking by persons

thriek 2014-12-08 03:20

Yeah, I wanted to add more than the clicking and random events at the end of the day, but you know, time constraints. :)

groydis 2014-12-08 03:34

Wow, Depressing. That doesn't make it bad, this is a good "Game". It covers a very real social issue. Bravo to you for making this. Oh and the game is very polished, everything worked well.

thriek 2014-12-08 03:35

Thanks! Yeah it is kinda sad, hard not to be.

alsweigart 2014-12-08 03:41

This game doesn't seem to get past the title screen for me. Chrome on Windows 7. What do I click on or press to start it?

thriek 2014-12-08 03:56

Ah yeah, the web version is broken, I'm afraid, so right now its download only. its a tiny download though. :)

woodecker 2014-12-08 04:16

Interesting. Sometimes homeless are invisible people for most of us.

endesga 2014-12-08 04:18

Interesting game :D love it

tater_hater 2014-12-08 04:55

Making it rain $67! Was a great day, besides my dog dying.

rainbowsexyfish 2014-12-08 07:19

I wound up playing this a lot longer than expected.

eruiz00 2014-12-08 10:28

Ummm... got me to the heart. Impressive. Really. (although where is the dog? starved in day 4 (i did want to buy the dog!!!)

thriek 2014-12-08 10:29

Thanks guys! At the end of each day random events happen, and the dog appearing is one of those events. It's all about luck!

dvdking 2014-12-08 10:51

Awesome game, wish the progress was faster.

kabukky 2014-12-08 10:52

Wow, being homeless is hard work.
Very well done! The music really sets the mood here.

louisload 2014-12-08 11:02

Excellent experience! The graphics remind me of The Sims for Game Boy Advance. The music is so very fitting, and the issue at hand is very well approached. Overall, the game has a very good and distinct style.
Thank you for making this.

fueelin 2014-12-08 11:07

I really liked the mood/production values. Good job, very interesting use of the theme.

tuism 2014-12-08 11:13

Conceptually strong, but mechanically weak, unfortunately. It would have been good to have more intrigue in choices - I understand that desperation and choicelessness is part of the art of the concept, but even a beggar has choices - do you pester the same people 10 times? Would you get socked if you do? Who should you beg? Based on their looks?

So I really applaud the idea but the execution is lacking. Hope to see more Papers Please type stuff! :)

thriek 2014-12-08 11:43

Hey tuism,

Yeah I agree, I wanted to do more things, but didn't have enough time. Maybe if I take this prototype further more stuff can happen. :)

hadesfury 2014-12-08 12:32

Sad game .. been robbed two time .. die from hunger ..

andysolace 2014-12-08 12:39

Played for quite a long time actually. It really gets you...

I didn't get the dog :(
I got mugged :(

yrasin 2014-12-08 12:48

Very interesting game with a very immersive mood to it. I love the audio. A little anoying that you can't click on persons going behind an another person. Also could be a little more eventful, but overall a good game.

zorfmorf 2014-12-08 13:04

Mood works really well, played two times (because I didn't get the dog the first time) and have to agree that it would have been even better if there was some sort of choice as to from which people I beg (or a day running a bit faster) or some other mechanic that makes begging a bit more interactive. Loved the choices with random consequences and how some comments affect your mood.

rjhunter 2014-12-08 13:09

There's no good place to be homeless, but the people in this city seem to be a lot more ... humane than many places I've seen. Everyone you ask for money at least acknowledges you, even if they don't give anything.

thriek 2014-12-08 13:26

Ah that's a good point, I should have had some people just ignore you...

manusaiz 2014-12-08 13:28

This is really touching but also entrentaining, I found the dog, yes! I hope there are more "friends" :D

triplevisiongames 2014-12-09 10:20

Amazing music! Reminded me of Through The Dragon's Eye (not the theme tune). A really promising start to something that could be really good.

tater_hater 2014-12-10 06:57

We made a video on your game! Check it out:

It was by far the longest we've played an LD game, and it didn't disappoint

HelkeGames 2014-12-11 08:26

Unique concept! Awesome art! Well done

rottenmage 2014-12-11 09:46

I like how you use this as a way of addressing social issues. Good job!

kitch 2014-12-12 05:58

That made me feel a bit... not a bad thing though. Good job! Thanks.

pjimmy 2014-12-15 15:33

love it, creative and moody, loads of feels, well done

Lucariatias 2014-12-20 17:52

You certainly captured the mood - not pleasant. There didnt't seem to be much variety in gameplay and I couldn't figure out how to spend cash. The graphical style was quite neat, I don't think I've seen many games do that before. Music fit the mood, but was overly simple.
