Thanks for playing my game :) This wasn't really my type of game but a cool proof of concept.

Kind of confusing at first but cool idea. Would love to play it again if you polish it. But I don't mean it in the wrong way! :D Really good attempt. Would play again.

I'm a big fan of citybuilder/sim games, so this is right up my alley. It took a bit to fully understand the ui, but I think this is a great proof of concept for something bigger (either pushing it more into the puzzle genre, or further into the citysim). Thanks for making this!

The game felt very hard. Didn't manage to survive for more than 32 weeks or something, after restarting a couple of times. I liked the idea and would have loved for it to be easier in the beginning so I could have managed longer

Wow, that's hard. It's very interesting though. You've done a nice job in 48 hours :)

snirp 2017-08-03 18:11

Interesting, it's a good effort. Wasn't entirely sure what I was doing but I did alright there for a while. That is fun.

This is pretty fun but kinda difficult even with the PNG haha. I think the UI just needs to be bit clearer but once you understand it there is an interesting game under there. Good luck fleshing it out, it could be a pretty addictive sim.

Fun game! I made it to exactly 52 weeks, ran out of money right after queuing up my second Hydro plant :(. I might have to try again later... =)

jimbly 2017-08-07 20:05

Heh, second time I made it to week 181, at which point I had built too many power plants and didn't have enough money to "disable" (by upgrading) them to keep the production low enough.

clutterarranger 2017-08-08 13:31

@Jimbly, I am actually happy that you worked on that solution. That became part of the gameplay by mistake B). Thanks for putting in time!

Nice idea, well implemented. I like the strategic approach you have to take to succeed more than a few weeks. The howtoplay image was a bit overwhelming at first, but in the end it was not that difficult to understand.

Interesting game! The fact that you had to hit an interval, instead of just a minimum amount of power, was an interesting mechanic, which made the decisions of what to build (and when) more strategic.

Having the fines come out of the same resource pool as you use to produce new plants, means that once you hit outside the interval, it is very hard to recover.

Nice concept!

>Meet rising demands, >for energy production. >Bankruptcy awaits.

Starts of very promising and I even managed to lose once due to not building enough power plants. The second time I build so many power plants that I easily got to 200 days. The problem: simply building more and more is not interesting!

I had dozens of plants active in the end. Loads of clicking to get there, but after that each plant requires no actions. It would be more pleasant (mentally and physically, my poor index finger likes to point out) to concentrate on a handful of plants instead. Managing repairs, adjusting salaries, bribing inspectors, making press releases, quelling riots, etc.

The heatmap overlays are a nice bit of UI design.

Ok entry. Too simple for my tastes.

themonsterfromthedeep 2017-08-20 02:19

This game is very difficult, mostly due to the fact that you can't really tell how much power you are going to need at a given date, so it's difficult to decide when to build certain power plants.

It also seems like I can't ever make enough money to actually build more power plants, so my output drops out of range and then I lose.

Perhaps there is strategy that I am unaware of, but currently it seems like there is some sort of balance problem.
