You can ban videogames 10/10

Quite a cool take on the theme, really interesting to see how each decision affects the city. Nice work.

liquidbrain 2017-07-31 18:55

Hm, I kind of offended the people over and over again ;)

**Concerning** the game-play I thought it was a fun little game! I really liked your take on the theme. Political power.

If I have to complain about something it would be the lack of sound and music, it would make the game much more enjoyable.

**Overall** this is something i found very funny, I got a smile on my face (mainly because I get to offend people without consequences) Thank you so much for this experience and good luck in the future! Have an awesome day, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

@liquidbrain Thank you very much! About the sound and music, the game has one song and one sound XD Maybe is too low to hear, my bad. See you!

Wow, i really liked the style and the humor of the game.

Visuals work - they look clean, simple and pleasant to the eye.

Nice writing (maybe a bit too liberal? i was ok with it)) again really enjoyed the humor.

Wish there were more info available, it is a game about juggling statistics after all. Like what the icons mean and statuses of my country (am i at war? what laws passed? etc.)

Great entry! Hope to hear more from you)

Favourite Compo entry so far! Really great humour and great that you can see all the consequences of what one did!

May add a blog post so you get more votes? You really deserve it!

Keep up the great work!

“Leader” is a very interesting game.

While I thought it was going to be a very complicated simulator about being a president, it turned out to be much more simple than I expected, and that's a plus for me.

What it lacks in graphics and sound is gained via the strategy elements of trying to balance out the 5 elements of the country. Sometimes I felt like some of the elements were lacking in terms of decisions that could help them (sanity and religion), but overall, this is a very fun and addicting game.

Interesting game. It sure fit the theme and it's really cool to see the evolution of your city.

Goob job !

valphera 2017-08-15 12:06

This is a really good game,

I played it a lot of times to see if I could manage to get further and further and still make choices that seem reasonable! The graphics are simple 3D models but man it's really working great, seing how our choices affects the town between every decision is really a cool thing Well done, very addicting

azziliz 2017-08-15 12:41

Nice game. Fun to play. Good balance. Congrats.

A very interesting and enjoyable take on the theme. The changes in the town due to the decisions were a nice touch. However I would have liked to see some kind of indicator of how much an issue affected the different factions (one of my losses happened after an unexpected 40% drop).

tomdeal 2017-08-15 16:09

I loved playing EADER! Haha :-) Nice idea, reminded me of Reign, where you also have to manage the mood of the different areas. I was confused when I lost with 15% religion still in my favor. Maybe they should revolt when you reach 0% approval. The graphics were really good!

sumgamstudio 2017-08-16 18:08

Your game is so good! I don't like dynamic games, but LEADER isn't bad. Your simple graphic is nice. Soundtrack can be better, but I really like your game.

nnnikki 2017-08-17 15:56

Great game! My 2nd favorite LD39 game so far.

quantumzen 2017-08-17 18:16

Fun! I'd make an excellent tyrant and that's final!

I like how the city reacts to your standing. It'd be great to see more detailed reactions - that's what I'd work on for the 2.0; if you decide to build a school, a school appears. Burn the forest - forest disappears, etc.

The idea is great. very simple, but with a lot of potential.

doctoralpaca 2017-08-17 18:31

The signs representing the will of the people was a very cool touch. Having someone prove-read the text would have helped quite a bit.

josehzz 2017-08-17 19:11

Nice concept idea. You should polish this and release it. Also I think the politics you make shouldn't be totally random, if they were pseudorandom you could make a more engaging experience.

toonteamj 2017-08-17 21:46

I like it. It was fun trying to balance everything, but apparently I've offended a lot of religious people. Gotta choose the lesser of three evils, I guess.

gmfk07 2017-08-17 21:53

I really like the changes to the city as your policies go into effect. The fact that all your options are randomized can be a little unfair (sometimes forcing you to lose), but the game has so much charm that it more than makes up for it.

huvaakoodia 2017-08-19 10:37

I got the pope on the phone pretty fast.

Enjoyable for a while, but having to choose from three random cards every day does seem a bit off. Sometimes the best choice completely reverses a decision from just a few days prior. I'm pretty sure they could not have even put the previous law into practice that fast.

Played a few of these types before already and this is certainly up there. Good work!
