On release I screwed up the name a bit because of exhaustion xD

binarylynx 2018-12-03 09:01

Good luck with beating the game!

daniel-abeleira 2018-12-03 09:33

Nice idea! Good job publishing the game

burnedkirby 2018-12-03 09:41

Gameplay is kind of.. well. Its frustrating trying to traverse pipes as most of the time, hitting up or down (w or s) doesn't work. Its like trying to thread the needle without seeing the needle. Its also not clear that the steering wheel actually fixes the pipes except if you read the intro that hints at it. I wasn't able to figure out how to control the ship when the wheel was in place, but I somehow evaded an asteroid? Difficulty seems too high due to these issues. At least I kept the animal in the cage fed.

binarylynx 2018-12-03 10:09

@burnedkirby Loved your comment as it gave me laughs) So true! Yeah, I could not polish it in time unfortunately. It is great that you kept the pet fed as it is the source of a visual bug if not treated well as I added him last minute and didn't test xD Difficulty of the game is very random (mostly, once again, because of a single Tag I accidentally put last minute)

xenop 2018-12-03 13:49

Sorry to say but when I try to download from your drive its wants to zip it first and it takes ages. Could you upload a zipped version to the drive so we only have to download :)

binarylynx 2018-12-03 15:08

@xenop Here you go! Thanks for letting me know, I totally forgot to do it.

xenop 2018-12-03 15:40

Alright men. Liked it but my pet died haha :P I need to play a few more times to get the indirect hints ;) Good job of completing the ludum dare though.

vilix64 2018-12-03 16:31

A bit too hard, but a nice game. Keep it up!

f4kethis 2018-12-03 17:09

Cool idea. I had no idea what I was doing though. I took the steering wheel and tried to put it on the water pipe and I don't think I accomplished anything. I did feed the walrus though, so that felt good.

jeroenpx 2018-12-03 18:20

I feel like I missed most of the game because I could not figure out how to repair the pipe... I just ran around trying to press the E key all the time. I think a small thing like highlighting an object when the user can pick it up could help.

ale 2018-12-03 18:53

Well, the gameplay concept definitely sounds interesting, but I couldn't figure out how to play. I figured out how to get the steering wheel by pressing F next to it, but then when I went to the pipe I couldn't get it to stop leaking. I just kept mashing F until I ran out of water.

I think you should add some probably add some detailed instructions to your post (you can edit your post btw)

Also, congrats on your first LD!

binarylynx 2018-12-03 19:43

@ale Can i modify the initial post Oo? I was afraid it would not let me make changes or I would not be able to apply for Compo anymore so I just added the regarding comment.

binarylynx 2018-12-03 19:58

@ale @jeroenpx @f4kethis I was waiting before adding more specific instructions but now I feel like it is about the time.

Items (vent/pipe/engines etc.) must contain comparable parts to work. You replace and attach parts with E. Some (3) Items are interacteble for you to press F. They won't respond if they are not working.

Examples: 1) if there is a meteor in front of the ship you must Interact (F) with the steering wheel panel to avoid it. But if steering wheel panel is missing the wheel part, you won't be able to do so and you will crash. 2) If the pipe is leaking (missing the valve) you can take (E) the steering wheel and place it onto the pipe (E again near the pipe with the wheel in hands) to fix it.

badosz 2018-12-03 20:35

Graphics are pretty funny tho ! I like the concept and gameplay

jhell 2018-12-03 20:38

Congrats on the first game! Cool concept. It's a bit hard to understand if you are carrying a part or not, so I had some trouble fixing things around. Also, I think the decay on things is way too fast, but maybe I am just dumb.

Anyways, cool graphics! :)

zhorky 2018-12-03 21:19

Needed a couple of tries before i got done anything. Graphics are ok, but a bit flickery from time to time. Good concept, but could need a lot of more polish

binarylynx 2018-12-03 21:27

@zhorky Thanks a lot for your time and feedback! Polish the game could use for sure) I hope you have beaten the game after all (although I highly doubt it as I made it hard as hell)

tomdeal 2018-12-04 00:51

Grats to your first LD Game. I bet it was a blast :-) Your game is very ambitious, and for a first game, it is very good! It could use some highlights for Parts that you can use, but the graphics are cool and it had a good feel to it.

hempuli 2018-12-04 01:49

Hmm! I really like the idea and there were some neat touches like the radio! However, I couldn't figure out how to fix the leaking pipe and every attempt ended inevitably with me running out of water. I couldn't place cords nearby nor find other items that could've helped. Still, a really interesting take on the theme! I'd like to play it again once I understand better how things work. Good work :)

binarylynx 2018-12-04 09:27

@hempuli You are actually first to find out that radio is working! It's funny that at start of development I called it radio but then I thought that radio is harsh in space so renamed it to BoomBox xD I am really glad that you want to return to the game. Just read my comment below the post with an image, you will find all you need.

isaque-picao-sanches 2018-12-04 11:11

cool but too frustrating - congratz nonetheless

thmokedfish 2018-12-04 11:52

Nice game but the graphic make it hard to figure out some items! And I don't know what will happen if my pet die. Generally speaking, as a player I have fun when playing it and that's enough:)

morg 2018-12-04 12:06

A really interesting take on the theme, it was a bit hard to understand what to do at first and what items to interact with, but the overall idea was there.

gerardb 2018-12-04 14:04

A little hard at first but really fun and rewarding after that. Congrats on your entry. It is really cool!

binarylynx 2018-12-04 14:20

@gerardb Thanks for figuring my game out! I am glad you liked it :)

joker-v 2018-12-05 04:44

Really dont know how to play it...Just the BGM...

binarylynx 2018-12-05 15:30

@joker-v @morg @thmokedfish @hempuli @tomdeal @jhell @ale @burnedkirby @xenop Hey guys! Thanks for playing my game! I would really appreciate you giving it another try as I polished it quite a bit. Basically I made things more clear with visual feedback and you most likely will understand the game better. Thanks a lot!)

guine 2018-12-05 21:24

Good job, friend!

kunonooni 2018-12-05 23:22

I think it was neat that you included a radio which you can turn on and off in the game. That said I would have included a sound when you pick up an object and when you place an object. Other than that I really enjoyed the entry. I like adventure games and this reminded me of those old sierra adventure games from the 80's. Well done!

gentoogames 2018-12-06 01:02

In a way I really like the art. It is definitely a unique style, but it is just too hard to distinguish between what you can interact with and what you cannot interact with.

boblova 2018-12-06 01:32

i played for a tad here and i really didnt understand what was happening or what i was doing i knew the controls not my direction

thmokedfish 2018-12-06 08:33

It's a bit frustrating that sometimes the text can't work correctly but better than it was.I managed to understand it! Good job and try to make it better:D

madjackmcmad 2018-12-07 22:50

Great concept, and frantic running about the ship to put things here and there. Hard at times to determine exactly what was going on and why I was in danger. It is a great concept!

mrjoshuamclean 2018-12-12 01:53

Love the concept. A little bit hard to work out and it's very difficult to succeed, but I love the concept of an adventure-style game in a small area.
