This game is really fun! I love the mechanics and art style!

lunardiscord 2021-04-27 01:28

Really like the sprite work, music, and sound design! Overall a pretty solid auto scroller/unit builder! Perhaps the enemies could have been made of a 5th ore to separate them a bit more, though the red circles were still handy in doing that.

stewmega 2021-04-27 01:31

Cool mechanic concept with great art. The pace was a bit too fast for me, I felt overwhelmed with so much on the screen.

ilprinny 2021-04-27 01:32

wow, to me this is a perfect jam game. Fun, inventive, and makes me want a full version. One major improvement that could be added is maybe if you hover over a material and hold shift and click you can quick build units or weapons, dragging got really annoying as things ramped up. Again fantastic entry! great work

dimlight 2021-04-27 01:51

@ilprinny What a great idea, actually we could drag the equipment to the summon button to quickly summon a minion hhhh We didn't think of a better way at the time.

@stewmega Pressing space to pause should make the hand-wringing situation a little bit better XD The numerical value in this version are a little too inflated since we haven't had much time to test them, a more comfortable version with proper numerical value should be released soon

simex 2021-04-27 13:57

I absolutely loved this, but I can shake the feeling that I was playing it wrong since no matter what I tried I could even get to the second minion tier, well that or I suck, which is probably what happened.

c4scar 2021-04-28 01:44

This was really cool! The art was super good. It was hard to keep track of what was going on in the battle beacause i was focused on pumping out units, maybe there is a way to make this easier to deal with? like maybe if the enemies came from the sides so you know that the closer they are to the center of the field the worse you are doing.

dimlight 2021-04-28 02:42

@simex No, it's not your problem, it's really just that this version is too difficult, we've uploaded a new version, but it seems like this version is too easy again. lol, the balance is really bad to grasp ah

@c4scar The random appearance of enemies and difficulty balance will be the focus of our short-term update, thanks for trying it out!

a333 2021-04-28 09:49

Loved playing it. It definitely felt a little on the easy side, but it's not a bad thing for LD game. Mad respect for the amount of content you've put in. Animations amount is truly huge.

Not sure if there should be some ending scene after I reached the final treasure. Enemies just kept coming.

jeremia 2021-04-28 20:34

Really great game, I played till the end!

I did play till the end, but I think I liked the beginning more, wehere you could still think about what golems you want to summon, and where you want to position them. in the end, I was just spamming the best material (first making weapons, then summoning it) with just glimpsing on the chaos on the battlefield.

timewarp 2021-04-28 20:49

I've lost my bf to this game, its been two hours already, no kidding.

jaiden-gerig 2021-04-29 05:36

This game is rad! Once you get to the lower levels it is just a crazy wacky good time. The art is really solid, the music and sound work together to provide a lot of good feedback for the player. I was really shocked at the amount of variety you had for weapons, enemies, etc. Crazy good, nice job!

(Also I noticed your Balance values are a little low, you should get out there and rate some games so more people can discover this bad boy!)

dimlight 2021-04-29 08:37

@a333 Thanks for playing, in the new version we've adjusted the difficulty to make the first half of the game more interesting, and we've added a short epilogue to explain the significance of that big crown.

@jeremia You are indeed right, the late chaotic scene is really not what we want to see, the number of people on both sides does need to be controlled, we are considering adding a switch that allows the villain to chase to ease the formation problem, if this demo will continue to be made, I may upgrade the equipment as the main direction of expansion and take the elite route

@jaiden-gerig Ha ha, in order to participate in this competition I applied to the company for a few days off, so this week I was busy every day, once I had time I would play a lot of other people's work

rawb 2021-04-29 19:18

This game is really fun. The graphics are amazing and the concept was really creative

waltsontanaka 2021-04-29 20:03

Nice concept, a tad on the chaotic side with too much happening sometimes, but pretty fun, nice job!

peachtreeoath 2021-04-30 06:54

I always like necromancer-ish games and it's fun to just see how big and chaotic things can get. The presentation is amazing and the UI well done. I actually liked the dragging feature, it felt more intuitive to me.

With that said, I'm not sure if there was a strategy to this game or was it mostly just a game about building and upgrading guys as fast as I could. If there was more strategy that I missed, please let me know. I know you can drag characters around a bit but that didn't seem useful beyond the beginning areas.

Overall I really liked the feel of the game. It somewhat reminded me of elevator stages in beat em ups when enemies drop down and it's go time. All the chaos in the final areas was definitely a sight to behold.

mighty-mufflon-games 2021-04-30 07:41

This game is awesome! Stunning work and with the shift function I was able to manage the chaos. xD

I got a gamebreaker suddenly. The time goes by, but the rest of the game seemed stuck.orelord.jpg

mira 2021-04-30 12:48

so i really like this game. as for the game site, I have nothing to complain about. The only small thing is that after all my fighters died, it didn't provoke me game over, but it's such a detail that I don't even want to project it into an otherwise positive rating.

magnanix 2021-05-01 07:00

Like the idea, had fun creating an army of diggers, however after hitting a certain number of units the game starts chugging (on the web player) really bad, to the point I'm getting 2-3 fps, makes the game so slow. Had fun either way, nice work!

hansj 2021-05-01 07:14

This was a great game! Really liked it great job for a jam!

snip-man 2021-05-01 07:37

Fun game, the summoning of new units was well done. I could see me sinking a lot of time into this game. Good job

wilsk 2021-05-01 07:54

It looks really polished and sounds good. Overall a great job for a game jam game!

Maybe I missed some key instructions, but I didn't feel like I had much to do other than wait for X number of resources and shift+click a button and hope for good RNG? Maybe it could do with a bit more UI feedback about what the icons mean and when they are disabled / enabled as that wasn't really clear so at times I found myself just spamming shift+click in the hope that something would happen.

babadesbois 2021-05-01 08:26

Realy cool game! Amazing the amount of work you were able to put in it in so few time! The graphics are realy good, gameplay too, the music is cool... Congrats!

mololo 2021-05-01 08:43

Great game. I love the style and animations, very well done.

I had a lot of fun, good job.

winnymarubaba 2021-05-01 10:00

What a game in 72h of work! It's calm and cosy at the start, and little by little, it's becoming hell on earth ^^

I have to confess some sounds of the game trigger me... It feels like they were too heavy and shrill for some of them. Adding some colours to the HUD or to the background would be nice, it's a little too much brown for me :D

But anyway, a really great game, in so many ways!

sekol 2021-05-01 12:47

Nice game especially graphics and sound design. I would appreciate an in-game explanation of the controls. Cool game, good job!

morrilet 2021-05-01 15:40

Very fun! I wasn't able to get past a single unit made of the second mineral but the difficulty still felt balanced. Great work!

chrissx2 2021-05-01 19:55

Really interesting concept and atmospheric visuals, sadly the fps went to a single digit numbers rather quickly. When I reached the first bar, i had ~2 fps :| - at first i didn't mind the low fps because it made the game easier. I was able to actually control my characteres in this slow-motion mode. Sadly reaching half the way (or it was night? I just notice the color and music change) the fps became unbearable. I've played the web version. Maybe the standalone version works better. I might give it a go later on.

chrissx2 2021-05-01 19:56

Also, i would love to be able to mix different qualty items with diffrent characters

lx07213 2021-05-02 04:46

@magnanix Thank you for your support! this is the first time we convert this game to web version, there are many imperfections, if you really can't accept it, you can play the PC version to avoid lagging, we will fix the web version of the lagging problem as soon as possible. @chrissx2 Thank you! I'm glad you were able to find another use for the lag, but we're already working on a fix. If you want to play without lag, you can download the pc version! Also, mixing items and characters was our original idea, but it would have made the game difficult to balance and the player would have had trouble adjusting the character's items, so we went with a simpler solution. If this demo can continue to be made, we will make the characters less and stronger. At that time, mixed items will definitely be available, thank you again :D.

I've not read any of the comments so I write my review as a pure first experience.

The game is an interesting combination of tactics and RPG elements. Maybe the most complex entry so far, in a good way.

The audio of the game is quite nice. Everything sounds clear and supports gameplay. If something, the game could use more sounds like drag and drop sounds for enhanced feedback. Music I feel is a bit too modern for the aesthetics of the game. Maybe something less electronic could fit in better? Possibly more earthly ambient could even replace music entirely to give a more underground feeling.

The space key doesn't seem to work. It scrolls the page down, so I couldn't pause the game.

I can't really figure out how the HP system works. I see HP stats for the units, but those do not move when taking damage. I fail to see where is the current HP. This would be vital information for more tactic depth. I could place less damaged units in harm's way while keeping more damaged ones back.

Also, maybe the game should restart when everyone is dead. I know there is a possibility to summon more stuff if the player has ore, but to me, the game just feels stuck.

Art is probably the strongest aspect of the game. Everything is super clear and pleasant to look at. The animations look really professional.

Overall super solid entry! A game I've played longest so far.

tomssuli 2021-05-04 19:50

Phew, that was intense! Played it through :) Great mechanics, very nice art, music that keeps your heart pumping fast...

I liked just about everything in this game. Maybe the beginning was a bit hard, but after a couple of starts once you got to the speed and got first golems of other than rock, it started to snowball forward. Shortcut keys became a must at the end side of the game as it was all but mayhem.

It was a bit hard to drag the tools to golems at first when I hadn't read about the shortcuts.

Overall very polished entry with a complete feeling!
