I'm a sucker for isometric art, looks gorgeous. Love the fact that the intro cutscene into the game is seamless. Not too many LD submissions try to do automation/building games, well done!

nick-barrash 2021-04-27 00:29

Screen Shot 2021-04-26 at 20.28.27.png barely made it

jorgeblanco 2021-04-27 00:33

Good job on the cutscene and art direction. Simple but cool mechanics. Definitely for fans of the genre as it doesn't hold your hand too much (so it's right into the action for veterans but easy for newcomers to get lost)

versatilesponge 2021-04-27 00:48

Hello, Nice game. I liked that you provided keyboard shortcuts for the buildings. Also the help menu did help. There are some glitches in the conveyors animations. Also, having to care for angle conveyors and there rotations is a bit tedious. I tried 3 times, could fill the TNT but not the drill. Not sure why ? The building music is nice and puts the mood, but the intro music feels a bit loud to me.

valid 2021-04-27 01:44

This was a well built game and I loved the factory building.

heidelbert 2021-04-27 07:15

@versatilesponge indeed the conveyors are a compromise. We had an automatic angling first but struggled too much to make it work in the time frame so we switched back to manual placement. Getting deeper requires hydrogen and steel which you get out of the blue and white factories!

the1 2021-04-27 10:01

Awesome graphics, awesome music, awesome game. I really have nothing more to say. Good Job!

daspikeyboss 2021-04-27 10:02

Really well done. I loved the art and the sound design was good as well. It was a bit hard to work out what to at first but I eventually got it.

kazz96 2021-04-27 10:11

Really cool game with some Factorio vibes. After a little bit of reflexion I finally end it :) Hard gameplay to put in a jam, and you succeeded very well. Great work.

robbzenone 2021-04-27 12:00

Played it twice... First Time i failed :D Really nice

truechips 2021-04-27 12:32

The game is great, though I don't know what the hell I am doing haha

noskro 2021-04-27 13:04

@nick-barrash, @jorgeblanco, @versatilesponge, @valid, @the1, @daspikeyboss, @kazz96, @robbzenonem, @truechips Thank you all for playing our game and the kind feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed it (or not , that's ok too). And yeah, the game is a bit on the challenging side. But we also didn't want to make it too easy and boring :) Also we added a downloadable Windows version. That fixes most issues with the clipping on buildings. Sadly we couldn't fix it on the WebGL build.

chewiecb 2021-04-27 14:07

Small bug with the conveyors flashing/overlapping buildings, great game overall though. Art style and music were good, really liked the intro animation/transition.

skelleroznik 2021-04-27 14:19

Very well done! I really really enjoyed the idea of mining an asteroid and the way factories combine. Such an interesting take on a simulation genre.

wbertrand 2021-04-27 15:22

Loved the art, and the intro cutscene was great. Only issue seemed to be some overlapping sprites. But was fun to get all the conveyors going.

nuelijarma 2021-04-28 07:16

Nice little game. On my first attempt I failed but got used to the mechanics, and on my second one I just executed things until everything was running smoothly. Quite satisfying.

Overlapping sprites tend to flicker, and not all of them are at the same resolution, so it can look a bit weird sometimes. The music is simple but does the job. I like that we can see the earth on the background. Overall the ambience is nice! Good job :)

doctortm 2021-04-28 11:51

Great jam! The art is very nice, and the sounds add a lot. Good job!

joe-z 2021-04-28 19:54

Makes me want to build a factory game! It's impressive that you got all the conveyors belts and everything working so well in the given time. Part of the reason I enjoy it so much is nostalgia for Lego Mars Missions which I played as a kid. Anyways, great job with the game!

okamit 2021-04-28 19:55

Really liked it! Great pixelart, just some flickering that makes it a bit hard to read the graphics. Would like it if the held building dissappeared when hovering the building selection row as well.

Really love how the earth gets visibly closer and closer and it's just not a timer, great way to add pressure and visual feedback! Really like the twist on a factory builder as well.

Great work!

threeli 2021-04-28 20:03

I'm a sucker for factory games for sure. I enjoyed the timing element, forcing me to adapt quickly and repurpose old factories. The music was solid and added to the mood overall. Great work getting this work well in such short time!

noskro 2021-04-28 20:08

@chewiecb, @skelleroznik, @wbertrand, @nuelijarma, @doctortm, @doctortm, @okamit Thank you all for playing our game and commenting. We had a lot of fun making the game. A factory game in 3 days was definitely a challenge. And we couldn't fix the issues with the conveyers on the webgl build. But we added a downloadable Windows version that does not have those issues. But for me it was my first game jam and I am so happy about all the love we get :)

ilprinny 2021-04-28 20:19

Awesome entry! Its always cool to see something as ambitious as a factory builder during a jam, and its always exciting to see a good one! I think the Goal of get x materials in a set time was a really good addition, added tension and excitement needed for jam games. My 2 pieces of feedback would be that the Zoom in and out on scroll whell works on the main menu and reveals to much, the second is the the buttons felt off when I tried to click them, luckily you had the 1,2,3,... hot keys so it wasnt much of an issue. Awesome entry!

marcari 2021-04-28 20:27

Really nice factory game. I like the visuals, especially that you added a nice intro and outro animation. Usually I am not into factory games, but this one has sparked my interest.

wekri 2021-04-28 20:47

As a big factorio player I had to play this one. I like the Idea of the asteroid and it is a cool way to introduce the time limit and the space constraint. My TNT production didn't worked at every armory but all in all a very nice game.

baturinsky 2021-04-28 21:29

Took me a while to understand how it works. Resulting in losing the first session. Would be better if factories would indicate why they are not working. Also, if some factories functions are locked initially, just do not addthe mto shop yet.

link270 2021-04-29 00:30

Very fun game. I love these types of game a lot. I beat it my first try with 5 seconds left! Once I figured out how to do it all it was awesome to play. Good job.

kfischer-okarin 2021-04-29 08:09

It was a really fun game. Liked the factory take on the Armageddon theme :)

There's a little problem in the main menu and during the cutscenes where you can freely zoom the scene.

Really good job on a fun little game :)

dom-de-re 2021-04-29 08:46

Love the art in this, very clean! I'm not usually very good at this kind of game but I found it very enjoyable!

jrevel 2021-04-29 09:10

pretty cool game ! You managed to give it a lot of polish, with a tutorial, a scenario, an intro and outro animation, ... The gameplay itself works pretty well, it is like a very simple version of factorio (which is my favourite game of all time) with graphics looking like Into the Breach. It's impressive you managed to do that in 72h :) I had some problems of sprites rendered in the wrong order at times, but nothing that could break the experience.

tim77 2021-04-29 09:13

I hooked it up like in the gifs but the conveyor belts wouldn't connect from refineries to the rocket. So I couldn't progress in the game. :/ Nice art style though! :)

todward 2021-04-29 09:17

Great game. Nice isometric graphics. Very polished in most aspects. Story combined with the tutorial and a fluent ending is very good. Controls are easy and self understanding. Loved it that you limited the overall time to 10 minutes.

vrerabek 2021-04-29 09:22

I dig(haha) the mysterious music. I think it fits very well. I appreciate the good UX (keybindings on buildings), it makes the game very smooth. Could not figure out few things in the beginning, but then I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the game.

mrtnldm 2021-04-29 11:58

Absolutely loved this game! Really nice music as well and the meteorite art was on point. The Earth was a slightly different style and didnt quite match, but that is not important. GREAT game!

tombuston 2021-04-29 12:26

Great work, congrats on making a tutorial for a game jam, this is really time consuming and yours is very well done. I liked the time limit twist in this genre that was clever. I had fun!

shigor 2021-04-29 18:16

ah... k240 / Fragile Allegiance... the hours I've burned on isometric asteroids... great work, guys.

egercreator 2021-04-29 18:19

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I HAD A KICK OUT OF THIS GAME GUYS! This strategy is really deep and a little bit hard, and this is so cool! Idea, music, graphics of this game - every element is really interesting and good! Great job guys!

xparker 2021-04-29 18:30

well done game, fun to play.

corporation 2021-04-29 18:58

Amazing! always love to see someone tries to create something strategic. Thats something I also like to explore. This game is nice little fractory simulation with creative addition of a lore and even "Don't wanna miss a thing" easter eggs)) Some small stuff I would rather change - rotated conveyors was hell to use), also font and some of UI was out of pixel size with other graphic, but thats minor. Overall amazing game!)

ruslana 2021-04-29 19:41

I could not make anything :D go into main drill

bmacintosh 2021-04-29 19:54

Perfect scope and length for a Ludum Dare factory-builder game. Beat it with 3 minutes to spare, but I felt like I had to work fast. I liked the extra touch of the earth getting bigger behind the map. I expected to be able to merge conveyors a few times, but I can appreciate that it might be this way intentionally. A click/drag function to place conveyors would also be a welcome improvement.

ancooper 2021-04-29 21:15

Cool game! Played twice

p.s. scroll wheel work on launch screen too

noskro 2021-04-30 06:24

@todward, @vrerabek, @mrtnldm, @tombuston, @shigor, @egercreator, @xparker, @bmacintosh Thank you everyone for your feedback!

@ilprinny, @kfischer-okarin, @ancooper, Yeah, we noticed the issue in the main menu after release. But as it not a game greaking bug we didn't want to push another update after the deadline. And after all it's a feature: Did you never wanted to see what is behind the observable space :)

@wekri, I guess sometimes it's hard to see where the production line is broken. But we already made some plan based on the feedback to release a usability update after the jam.

@jrevel, the render order glitch only occurs on the WebGL build. I guess 72 hours was just to little time to fix that :/

@tim77, @ruslana, sorry to hear that. As I mentioned before right now there is no ingame functionallity to properly see where the problem is. If you would want to play the game again and send me a screenshot I would try to help you out ;) A frequent issue is that the conveyers are facing the wrong was.

@corporation we tried to auto-rotate the conveyers at the beginning of the project but then had to scrap that idea due to time constraints. But we definitely want to try that for the post jam update.

bidentworks 2021-04-30 12:19

Solid game! Mechanics are satisfying and clear, artwork and music are good. Thanks for making it!

taikinaaa 2021-04-30 16:35

Fun little game! The music and the art are very nice, the mechanics are interesting.

jakob-willforss 2021-05-01 14:07

Cool game, really enjoyed the atmosphere and strategy! It felt like a bit part of the challenge was to find the time to rotate the curves correctly, but I really didn't mind. A next step would maybe be some 'chaotic factor', for instance something attacking which could be defended against using some turrets or similar, but I realize the LD-jam constraints. Great job :)

noteworthy 2021-05-02 09:31

Super solid game, had a real blast playing it. placing the drills and removing some buildings were a little finnicky, having to aim for the bottom right corner of each, but once I figured that out it was smooth sailing. The art style is fantastic, and the audio is pretty fitting too. I saved the planet with 2 minutes to spare! Good starting mix of building items too, not too much complexity for conveyor belt game with time limits. Though some T or X sections of track would be nice. Great entry!

chtimy 2021-05-02 13:57

I like this strategic game <3 Very cool and it could be a full game with more complex elements. Good idea and congrat! Just when I click to create a factory or anything, sometimes I need to click more than once, I don't know if is it me? Otherwise thank you for you game!

fl 2021-05-03 16:20

Great game! I completed four times! My best time was 4:10.

I suggest you making water/ore mineral more different. Rotate is a little tedious, so I also suggest to conveyer detect automatic position.

I found a bug: On title screen you can zoom in/out and move the asteroid with WASD keys.

zimny11 2021-05-03 19:38

What a unique concept! I really enjoyed the game. I wish there was more!

digital-bacon 2021-05-07 10:38

This is a really good game. Rare to see this kind of factory game in an LD jam. Nice graphics and audio. Great entry!

darkshadow 2021-05-08 13:43

Nice little factory game, slight issue with z-fighting between the sprites. I liked the 10-minute countdown which felt like just the right time to feel some pressure

If the conveyor rear orientation stayed when switching between angles that would have helped a lot. Also, the delete tool you have to click on the origin tile for the building rather than just any building tile

someone 2021-05-10 18:47

Very nice. I like that you can see the earth getting larger in the background. The particle effects on the refinery buildings don't stay there if you move the camera.

lereveur 2021-05-10 19:13

Good management game, nice arts, good balance… I think I just have to say : very good job and well done!

ddrkirbyisq 2021-05-10 20:22

A little confusing at first, but worked out in the end and was fun to set up all the pipelines and such. It's a little intimidating that the timer counts down even in the middle of the opening tutorial; I restarted the game to have extra time to read it.

jojopalambas 2021-05-10 22:26

LD48-2.png

Well that was super-close!

I loved the mechanics (Mindustry and that kind of games is 100% my jam), I loved the music (especially the menu), I loved how balanced it was (I mean, I finished the gamme with 15 sceonds left, that was perfect), I loved the attention to details (the planet growing in the background had me freak out a little), that wa a great game. Take my stars!

oillen 2021-05-10 22:50

-Fun: (4) I have played the game 6 times. The 3rd time was to figure out, what happens when you lose. After that addiction kicked in.

-Innovation: (3.5) Economy & building strategy game with vibes of factorio (conveyer belts) and a twist through a time limit.

-Theme: (2) The theme is only fullfilled in the name. I am glad you prefered to create a good game over a theme fitting one.

-Grafics: (3) It's OK when the buildings are made simple, they are also easy to read, but the factories seem to be upscaled, their borders are far thicker than compared to others. There is also a strange flickering sometimes while placing a new construction. Sometimes the layering gets off, so a building "behind" another is drawn ontop of it.

-Audio: (4) there are sounds for interaction (clicking buttons & placing buildings) Neat soundtrack a bit relaxed. What about sounds of performing facilities, or warnings etc.

-Humor: (2.5) there seems to be some jokes & references

-Mood: (3.5) there is definitely some space groove, I just miss a bit the pending doom vibes the growing earth in the background was a good idea.

-Overall: ( 4 + 3.5 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 2.5 + 3.5 -> 3 )

The Points I would like to rate:

-Quality/Polish: (4.5) Your main menu could have a close/exit button. The grafics have some glitches - the mechanics (after playing multiple times) seem to be bug free. It's a bit over-the-top to have a intro-cinematic :D

-Genre: (4) The game is a good amalgation of different eco-sims & the timelimit is not disruptive. There could just be more strategy to it, to reach perfection.

-Szenario: (4) The Mission is made clear & progress can always be monitored.

-Setting: (3.5) Some assets like the rocket have some retro-scifi vibes, the facilities feel a bit blant. While the soundtrack is relaxing, there could be some sound of urgency, like alarms, messages from earth etc.

-Story(telling): (3.5) The messages tell you everything you need to know. Although Deeper-Geddon is not a storydriven game, you made clear what the situation in the game is.

Gameplay:

-Controls: (4.5) Interacting with buttons & placing the buildings works well, and there is allmost no chance to delete the wrong building. Scrolling with arrowkeys works ok - there could have been a borderscrolling.

-rules: (4) Processing & constructing works simply & well. When buildings would cost something, there could be a interresting dynamic of spending & saving resources.

-complexity: (4) The three factories have their recipes, the Red facility have a slighty more complex one. A mine can sustain multiple facilities - & multiple mines/factories can be linked to a factory. Mobile units or something else would be sick.

-difficulty: (3.5) you can fail if you want to ... the game helps you with it's tutorial, tooltips, GUI & HUD.

-Content: (3.5) There is one static map, it would have been nice when the resource fields would be random generated.

gamescodedogs 2021-05-11 05:52

I think the game has a great replayability. I played a couple of times.

sublustris 2021-05-11 05:53

Ооочень масштабная игра для джема. Не сразу разобрался что и как делать, но потом всё встало на свои места. Нужен последовательный внутриигровой туториал. Надеюсь, вы не забросите проект, и будете развивать его дальше! Так держать!

shane-hayes 2021-05-11 06:37

Had to destroy my ore line to get enough water, and made it with 1 second on the clock. That was fun :)

nakami 2021-05-11 10:25

Love it !

I only realise that my TNT factory needed steel mind game but has I already had almost finished water and steel supplies I destroy some conveyer belt for my water and reroute steel to TNT and succeed one minute before impact !

joe40001 2021-05-18 07:40

I beat the game with about 58 seconds to spare. My main bit of feedback is this: Pause the timer when giving instructions. Without this the game is basically unwinnable on the first playthrough.

Otherwise fun and innovative game. I also appreciated the movie references.

joe40001 2021-05-18 07:41

Also I really liked the planet getting bigger in the background.

2021-05-19 13:41

What a complex game! I included it in my compilation video series of a bunch of LDJAM games! https://youtu.be/rQyFGYR3HW4
