Really good game. It seemed kind of easy, and it was sort of unclear until I paid close attention. I was a little confused as to what I was supposed to do.
I really liked the music.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD42 → Space Warehouse

Really good game. It seemed kind of easy, and it was sort of unclear until I paid close attention. I was a little confused as to what I was supposed to do.
I really liked the music.
Interesting concept. I like it. It was still hard to understand what I was supposed to do at first though.
Not sure if there is a win / lose state, since when I figured it out I reloaded the site to start and it all made more sense! Quite interesting idea, cool little concept with maybe some more polishing needed to give feedback to the player. Could be a nice little puzzler. The asteroids gave it a whole other level you needed to keep in mind, I liked that.
@jackou The lose state is to be hit by asteroids without money for repairs and otherwise it's just survival
A simple game to uderstand but is hard to manage. (or I'm a very unlucky guy) The empire don't forgives...
The music is a little repetitive but in overall the game is a good challenge
I haven't played your game yet, but I saw you're collecting a list of web-playable games. Here's a list of all the LD games filterable by platform: https://tsjo.st/r/ld42/
Once I figured it out, this game was a blast! Buying and selling tetris pieces was a lot of fun. The graphics were perfect -- I just wish I knew what the colors meant. The UI didn't work well at fullscreen and the click/placement was a little off sometimes, but otherwise it seemed very polished. Nice work!
@deathray The colors don't mean anything, it's just a placeholder graphic. Thanks for the feedback.
I like it. I wonder if I hit a bug or a lose condition? Ran out of space and was able to sell 2 cubes to the empire but could proceed after that
@samguy Sounds like a bug
I enjoyed this a lot more on the second play, so I feel it could use some kind of tutorial. There is a decent trading game here though. Some upgrades (bigger platform, asteroid shields, better prices, etc.) would add to the longevity, as well as giving you some kind of drive to make more money.
The controls were a bit awkward. I think this would be a better game in 2D to be honest, or at least move the perspective to top-down. Some UI elements could be bigger too, it took me a little while to even notice the junk option.
You should be able to restart the game. Apart from that its really good. Once you understand it, it makes you wanna get more and more ^^
It took me a second to get a grasp at the beginning, but once I did this became a really interesting game of keeping up with my warehouse. I kind of got lost in it and kept playing which is always good :) Great job!
I've added an image above that hopefully explains the way trading works.
Man people really did not want to buy my Big Cs! I had so many of them. Cool little trading game!
Traaading FTW
This game is really cool. It took some attempts to understand the mechanics in the beginning, but overall it is a great trading game and fun concept. And as someone mentioned it before, this game should have some kind of tutorial
Cool little game, a bit hard to grasp at start, could use a bigger challenge (more shapes?) as you progress.
Really fun and addictive game! Really nice work.
Wow! that was really addicting. I probably played this game the longest out of any other jam game. I started escalating really fast especially when I realized there was no penalty to losing the empire's good by putting it in the path of an asteroid hit. Would've probably played it even longer if the difficulty kept escalating.
The god damn empire!! This game was really good, I had a lot of fun playing this, lost track of time. I would love to see this idea taken further. I think if you keep working on this game, a campaign and story with the empire could play out really well. I could also see other events and defending/upgrading your platform becoming a thing. It did feel a little bit too easy, and not having an end goal eventually got me to stop playing. The audio fit really nice, and the graphics while simple were very effective. Also why do people need so many buckets in space? Great entry!
At first I was confused and took all the garbage, but once I figured it out, it made a lot more sense. Maybe enforce on the first ship to have a type of resource, after I saw the colored ones on the next ship, it made far more sense.
I didn't really understand what I was suppose to do. All it said was sell, buy and survive. But I didnt get was to sell, what to buy and how to survive. I thought it was a good idea though, just try to make your instuctions more clear next time maybe.
I liked this game and enjoyed playing very much. It has great potential. I think I've been playing for an hour maybe, got 1134 clams. It's intuitive simple pricing design was a winner for me.
Some thoughts: Needs some balancing on the supply and demand. First time should have a more intuitive flow. For example, I got no beams (no supply) and for three times in a row ships were buying only beams. A "shuffle bag" instead of just random should sort that out! Same to avoid three federation ships in a row (it happened, and man it was crazy but got to stuff everything inside not throwing anything away!). I know you can just keep skipping but with a steeper management progression, inflation, or more asteroid floor destruction, I imagine it would be problematic.
The "Buying ****" box is pretty hidden, it should have some visual feedback on it as soon as the ship docks (I didn't see it at all the first 5 minutes)
I more often couldn't fit for sell into the ships than running out of space myself, but when I do (broke ship) it has a great dynamic of throwing things to junk losing their value, buying something from the ship in order to at least recoup selling what's asked. Although it gets impossible to fit big C/H if I ran out of cash (and grinding buckets is no fun).
The forced stop in progress by the federation ships works great! Trade off delay for loads of cash. I was afraid there was going to be some penalty if I throw those to space junk, luckily it didn't.
Good music, very fitting (it gets on your nerves eventually thou)
Great job!!!
Hey, the empire treated me really well. They gave me a bunch of stuff, took it the next turn, and gave me a bunch of space clams 8) Then another time I played, I was hit by an asteroid immediately on the first round... Space Warehouse giveth and taketh.
I wonder if the RNG element could be toned down a bit. I found myself restarting quite a bit because I ran out of money and couldn't sell anything because their platform was full. I wonder if the Empire items would have a text box when you hover the mouse over them to let you know they're empire goods that can't be sold? I knew empire goods couldn't be sold based off the tutorial, but I wasn't sure what they looked like.
Pretty clever game idea though!
"A beam? Sure, just let me take this squiggly from you. Big C? No sorry, I'm out of those, but I'll buy your space fork".
Fuck the empire... But hey at least they are paying you.
This is a very engaging game. I started playing yesterday night but I had to put it down since I was running out of battery on my phone and I didn't want to lose progress. Then I woke up today and playing haha.
This is more of a management game than a "Running out of space"one, which is cool, since I enjoy these (is still fills the theme perfectly). I never had the feeling I was short on storage space, but maybe that was me playing it too safe.
I enjoyed every part of it, and I can see you felt the need to introduce some mechanics to make it more challenging (the empire specially). Meteors are also cool, and the combination of both prevented me from selling a big H a couple of times. It was a good decision.
The design is solid and the execution is pretty nice. Everything comes together quite nicely, since I found myself addicted to it very soon.
Took me a bit to figure out how it works, cause I thought I could only buy what was indicated in the top-left box at the beginning, but the it all made sense.
Oh, btw it also took me around an hour to realize I could rotate objects by holding and touching again, whoops.
I believe if you improve the visuals to make it shiny and bloomy it could really be well received as a mobile game.
In the end I had to stop myself and decided to quit after I reached 1000 clams.
Congratulations, this is a great game!
This game is very refreshing! A bit too easy and repetitive but the music and the mood was relaxing. Really like it good job. Maybe asteroid are not enough of a threat. Having a rent to pay can add a certain pressure to make deal even if they aren't the best just to end the month. still a really nice game :)
Really cool game! Played it for a long time, but stopped after I got to more than 200 money bits. Not sure if anything new happens after that but I would definitely have continued if I had some more goals to play towards!
Great game! I played for ages. hope you continue with this as I feel this could be even better with some kind of story. There's a great balance between all the mechanics and it's a real good use of the theme. Well done!
There's been a few inventory/storage management games this LD, but the thing that stands out about this one that it's turnbased. I liked that it allowed for more strategy and decisions rather than just flat out reaction speed and tetris skills. I found myself stopping and thinking through a lot of options and I think that made it stand out against the other ones in the genre. Like others said, upgrades and stuff would make this super addicting. Great job on the design on this one!
Really well done. this was the game I played the longest! super clear instructions, awesome game mechanics! Really, really nice!
Very cool game, did you write all the code in html5 or c++? how to compile it?
Fun game, I like how the meteor strike reduces your available storage space forcing to consider what you want to lose. I also the how you are required to store empires goods. I found it overall quite easy once it got going.
@juaxix It's written in c++ and compiled with enscripten's emcc. If you set up the environment you can use *make* from the command line.
Really great game! The random levels are interesting. The graphics and audio are also good enough. Great job!
For further development, you could consider making the management system more complex.
P.S. My game is also compiled with emscripten :) (but it is written in rust)
Pretty good game. But every time I tried to sell something they wouldn't take it. Even if it was the item they said they needed? Is it broken? Other than that, I like the graphics and the audio. Good stuff! Hope to see you next challenge

Lovely and peaceful game. Would've liked more goals in the form of story, upgrades or anything. If you get up to something like in the screenshot, it gets a bit boring. However everything else is great.
Overall pretty good game - lovely music, interesting gameplay. Not much else to say, the idea certainly has potential. Good job!
Hi @rayaarito it should be working. Did you have enough space to place the item? Otherwise it coukd be a browser issue? Left click should place with a mouse or touch and drag on mobile.
Overall it's a good game, easy to understand and peaceful. I found it really addictive but I think some points could be improved: - It too easy IMO - If you don't buy anything you have just to deal with empire stuff (as you can't sell them to gain space) - There is too much repair ship, I've never broken more than 1 part of the platform
Good point for the concept, idea and realisation. It's a really addictive game and the music is clearly in harmony with it :)
Great work !!
Well designed game, I think! But I think it needs a tutorial mode (even though I had no problems understanding it). Nice Tetris-like mechanics. Do I have to buy anything or I can just skip all the ships? :)
Got almost my whole ship destroyed and didn't have money to repair it. Nice!
Nice music and interesting idea. At first sight it felt super simple, I took stuff out and placed it, but then I was unable to place items even though it indicated with green that it should be possible so I'm not sure what I did wrong there. Cool stuff and congrats on your entry!
@imphenzia The UI is not very intuitive so it's hard to find out what was going on. There is a price for every item so you would have had so sell some items first. If you run out of money you can survive by doing empire tasks. Thanks for playing!
