Interesting game. It is original at least haha :) Great job :)
Nice game. Plays like an aim trainer lel.
Deeper and deeper ?)
Nice but short game, i liked the idea very much. At end i was not able to click on Quit button but overall good job!
Fun game.
Nice and simple. Good job!
@bitlight Thanks!
@brutor The Mutation/Evolution tree gets deeper and deeper.
@locustjin Lol. The cursor is not seen in the end screen for whatever reason. I noticed it before but couldn't fix it. Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed an interesting idea and I would love to see some improvements in the future
@giordas Thank you!
I feel like a virus sharpshooter! :mask: Awesome job, at first I didn't think the last level was winnable, but I kept at it and won. It got me into frantic mode which was a cool reaction that felt fitting for the overall theme of the game. Congrats!
@pohko Thanks! That was the feel I was going for. :)
Nooo, no more virus this year ;) Sweet game, btw !
@vidu Yes, even I hope so. Thanks
Plague inc as a shooter :P haha, had some fun, nice stuff, i think we all feel the same way playing this game in the current situation :)
I love the music! Fits really well to the infection theme. The deeper and deeper theme does not really happen here too well and the game is really hard to beat:b. Other that that, pretty nice! And i LOVE the logo!
This was very hard but a good fun aim-trainer for mouse clicking haha. So many lungs got infected, I lost so many patients :sob: good job :)
@varanttitizian Glad you had fun!
@baarmaboi The virus is supposed to mutate to a stronger version. That way the "mutation tree" gets deeper and deeper. I know it isn't a strong interpretation, but what's done is done. The trick to win the last level(hardest level) is to kill the viruses in the side alone, thus preventing it from reaching the lung borders. Then you can use the "kill pill" to eradicate the virus. I will definitely reduce the difficulty. Thanks for your feedback!
@joedev haha yes I should have made it a bit easier. Thanks man!
Overall a solid game, pretty simple and short. I love the explosion effect after you shoot. I did have a problem advancing to higher level though since the game cut off and said "Thank you for playing" as I was about to shoot the blue virus, not sure if that's the intention. Anyway, great job y'all!
@saltfactory-studio I think it is a bug, cause that wasn't intended. I will try to fix it. Thanks for your feedback!
Agree with the aim-trainer vibes. Not so sure how I feel about the virus theme or how it relates to deeper and deeper. Felt like it was over super fast though! Really got ready for some quick firing action and was jarred when it was over so fast.
@Conduit I agree that it is super short. I didn't have time for more levels. Next time I will plan my time accordingly and try to add more levels. Thanks! The virus mutates into a stronger version of itself every few seconds. Green to blue, blue to purple and so on. That way the “mutation tree” gets deeper and deeper. I know it isn’t a strong interpretation, but what’s done is done. Thanks for your feedback!
that escalated fast... not sure I needed more virus related content this year, but the game is effective at causing that cascading sense of panic as you realise it's too late to contain the virus. Nice job!
Nice idea here! I definitely think there could be a few more levels, possibly with some viruses alreay starting at a "deeper" level of infection? I never ended up seeing more than the first stage of infection unfortunately, as I was able to blast them all away fast enough. Fun as an aim trainer though, nice job with that!
Loved the reference of a game that i like very much. The game is intuitive, the sounds are great and i would love to see an update.Great work!
@pat-cleaver Glad you liked it!
@brainloaf-studio Good suggestion, will implement it. haha i found it very hard to balance this game because it totally depends on player skill. Some can blast through the level fast and some can't get past the level. I have to think of a way to balance the game. Good thought. Thanks for your feedback!
some bug caused me to get a 'you win' screen overlapped on top of the 'you lose' screen. interesting concept, would be cool to see it fleshed out with more mechanics!
Moorhuhn, but with Corona, fun game!
Solid idea. Different difficulty settings might make a nice update.
@miej Thanks for your feedback! Will fix that bug.
@lajbert @ellipsis Thanks. Will add difficulty settings for sure.
I really enjoyed playing the game
The best thing about this game is the foreboding soundscape! That is to say: I'm impressed by the audio.
The difficulty ramps up _fast_. The first three(?) or so levels are all almost trivial, you only get to see what the mutations look like when the virus keeps replicating in the 'you win/next stage' screen. Then after that the final level before 'thank you for playing', there is so much virus that it replicates so fast that you loose _before_ you see any mutations. Unless you use the kill-pill, in which case you just won the game.
It's a shame because the core idea seems solid (apart from not really connecting to the theme*), but I didn't really get to engage with it, or even experience it. To the point where I'm wondering if what I'm looking at is just a lack of time taken for balancing, or if I'm running into bugs.
(Speaking of bugs: On the win screen I could see a lose screen blurry-ly underneath it... I found that the screenshot I took of it didn't come through. On the same screen, I had no mouse-pointer and could not actually press the quit button.)
Graphics are decent (I wonder if the slightly more 'photorealistic'/textured viruses is on purpose, to make them more scary/more stand out on the backdrop of the more stylized/abstract tissue behind it, or if that's just a thing that 'happened'). Also it responds snappily to mouse input (plays fluently), which I appreciate.
*) I feel that you could easily have said 'deeper and deeper into the body' and had some different backgrounds for the levels. That would have worked! But hindsight is 20/20, and never is that more true than for the peculiarities of jam games.
nice Game, good job!
