This look pretty good
this was pretty fun - i really like the world losing pieces - really cool
the tile collapsing mecanics is very innovating and fit the theme very well. I love the sounds and animation when the world shrink.
Overall graphics and sound design are pleasent, screen transitions are cool too.
Great job!
good game, I realy like the idea. I also like the graphics and the audio. feel free to give my game a try too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/the-maze
Nice game! I like the kingdom fall. Congratulations.
nice arts, good game
Nice setting and music! The only thing that confused me was the attack vs defense of the characters, it seemed that sometimes I could kill them, other times I couldn't. Another minor thing was that the place substitution of my mage with another character worked only sometimes too.
This is very polished for an LD entry. Even a proper tutorial?! I'm very impressed.
What a great game! I love the tutorial! That helped so much! I can see this game getting a lot deeper. Well done for such a short time!
Pretty neat for a turn-base strategy game~ I was slowly losing with the enemy leaning towards my castle as the pieces fell. It shows the AI is quite good.
Very fun game! I enjoy turn based strategy games like this and this one is great. It looks like a big team worked on the game and it is impressive what a team like this can do with that amount of time. It is a great entry!
Nice game but I found it hard to plan strategies without knowing the mechanics of how the battles worked. Was I better to attack or defend? Which units beat which? etc.
I liked all the things that were there and the tiles falling were really well done. A few more sounds especially at the start would have been nice, I was surprised when I heard my first one as I thought the game was silent.
Well done, working in a team that big can be tough (too many cooks in the kitchen :) ).
THis game is really fun (i love small RTS games like this), BUT it is kind of confusing to figure out the attack and defense of units
If i hover my mouse over a unit, it says 'player offense: x\nenemy defense: y'
if i am thinking of attacking an enemy unit, it is hard to tell which of my units is best suited because the X and Y over the enemy unit stay the SAME even if I choose different units of mine
do all of my units have the same offensive capability?
instead of displaying 'offense' and 'defense' as quantities that seem to sometimes change based on perspective, just show them normally.
Overall great game, but i was couldn't ever be certain i would win a fight just from looking at the stats
@rargrave @scottyseus The easiest way to know if you'll win a fight is to select your attacking unit and hover your mouse over a target. The attack and defense (sword and shield) numbers that popup above the target show the relative stats for the battle. If the sword number is higher than the shield number, you'll win.
The units that surround the attacker and the target influence the overall battle scores. For example, having an archer behind a unit adds a lot more defense to that unit when it's attacked.
We could have explained this better directly on the map by highlighting the edges of tiles to indicate the supporting contribution of neighbor units but we ran out of time. We may revisit this in future updates. Thanks for the feedback!
@landosystems awesome! those mechanics are a lot more intricate than they appear!
Great game. It was a little confusing at first, but once I got the hang of the strategy I was grouping my characters together to optimize the defense score and I was grabbing crystal tiles whenever I could so I could spawn more wizards. There were an awkward few turns where the map was split in 2 pieces, but after that I found and opening and rushed in for the win. It had an impressive amount of polish for a game jam game. I'd be curious to hear more details about how you used blockchain for the AI. If you're so inclined please send me an email at apc1993@gmail.com
A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
just one things I love this game. ^^ great jobs!
I'm really bad at strategy game but it's a great game ! Too bad that there is no music during the game..
Nice! I'm really fond of strategy games, and this feels very good and polished too! :D
Really cool to see a game seem this polished. I did feel like it needed music. Having tried to make a strategy game before (in way more time than a game jam) it's very impressive to see one done well in a game jam. Nicely done.
@phearbot There is music, but because of Chrome you may have to refresh the page for it to play. Thanks for the checking the game out.
Cool
@doug-graham, thanks for @'ing me! Checked it out again and adjusted my audio rating accordingly! :)
hey good game. interesting how the board tiles fall of the screen. i like the repositioning animation.
the AI is quite good
Very simple strategy game I love it ! Can you explain more about what's the advantage to use blockchain for AI ?
@star-garden @devwithmartinus Sorry guys, we're just bullshitting about blockchain AI. The internet is a den of lies and shouldn't be trusted ;)
First things first, nice intro with a little animation giving a nice foretaste. :)
A lot of good ideas in this game, be it the zoom+animation and the board shrinks, the UI nicely made and pretty clear, the little light that goes from a side to an other when you steal a tile, etc...
I really liked the art style some of the sprites being well detailed.
The audio is great too and fits well with the game. The sound effects are also correct.

I got stuck in a loop at that point, I tried for multiple turns different things but there was no good issue and I had to give up. :< It seems the AI was kinda lazy for a couple of turns and didn't attack even if it had better units than mine and I could cycle multiple turns with nothing going on except some back and forth from it. I didn't really understand the logic behind some things, why sometimes the tiles stacked onto others and other times it stayed at a distance for one or two turns. An other thing was that enemy units seemed more powerful than mine, I may have misread some instructions and some tiles gave bonus or something.^^"
Giving the archer an area a bit bigger (1 more tile) could be a way to "justify" their bow, but that's more of a detail.
Anyway, great concept and interesting take on the theme, I really liked the time playing it. It reminded me a game I loved playing ~10 years or so, "Battle for Wesnoth". :)
Nice job! o/
I like this entry a lot more than I thought I would- the cover art doesn't do the graphics justice. In game they looked very nice and cohesive, and the sound effects are great as well.
Good job on this!
This was very well produced! Graphics were excellently produced, and thought the gameplay was pretty solid. You guys managed to pull off a very good strategy game over the course of the jam and (Having done it myself) that is no small feat!
Suggestions: I got caught in a point where the enemy castle, and two enemies were cut off from me, I owned the rest of the board, and I just had to wait about a dozen turns before I could finally win. Perhaps a more aggressive culling system for tiles?
I find id kinda hard, but liked it anyway, the music is cheerful and the graphics are also good for ludum dare.
The graphics and how everything is juiced just enough give this a really nice feel.
The combined effects of unit placement on their Attack/Defence was initially confusing, as I couldn't work out how the enemy were always so strong! But the feature definitely adds a large amount of depth to combat. I liked the styling and the UI felt very solid.
This game took me trip to nostalgia. I was confused at first how to use units but later on it became easy
Oh I found this game quite enjoyable, spent more time on this game than many others haha. As a fan of Heroes of might and magic tactics combat and Wesnoth this game really hit the spot for me. Only one small to mention for me was that I wish I knew where the block was going to disappear from for me to use it as part of some tactical maneuver but maybe that would have been an unfair advantage against the AI. Very nice and solid game, more variations on the characters and larger levels and I would pay money for this game! Nice entry, well done!
Nice game, Love how everything is balanced! Good luck, Don't forget to take a look at ours if you don't mind and see what it's like when we just focused on graphics in this game jam! Game Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42a
