Hehe, as I read your "thank you" screen in the beginning in was sure, this game needs to be played. I liked a lot, that you had a story line and have story choices. Nice. The fact that you can only shoot into 4 directions was a bit tricky to handle, but yes... this is the problem with all the space-ship prototypes theese days :=
Hope you had a lot of fun creating it.
Windows-Version worked fine for me ;)

@psychomonster Thanks for playing. Now I have to figure out how to play pico8 games

Fun game! Surprisingly hard as well, I'm usually good at this control. I think I would appreciate some directions because sometimes I'm just wandering around. The thank you screen is heartfelt, I love it.
I replayed it several times looking for the "good" ending but I'm not sure one exists! I even tried to run in the opposite direction of my objectives, only to find out that space was, seemingly, under construction  .
My only criticism is that the combat is the most fun part, but it's a lot safer to just ignore it, which makes the game pretty short.
Overall I like the setting, and the story screen illustrations were quite nice. Good job!
(P.S. The Windows build worked good for me on Windows 11)

@thisyc the ship has a small indicator that always points you in the direction of where you should go. It's not very big and I did have plans to make a better one, but never got to it. Thanks for playing and rating
@andrewkennedy It is kind of what I was going for, "What is a good ending?" So I think you got exactly from it what was intended. Regarding the combat; It was thrown in there to add some obstacles to get around, and time didn't really allow for me to implement any behavior besides, shooting at you when you got to close. Thanks for playing and rating
I have tested the windows build...it works
I like the two endings and that there's not a perfect one.
The under construction edge of space was funny.
The combat, controls, art, and sound are all well done. I ended up just avoiding the combat once I realized I could get the objective without it.

@bangkerpow Thanks for playing and feedback. There are in all 3 endings  Year, the combat part was a very fast last minute hack, so it's not what I wanted, and yes the fastest way yo finish the game is to just ignore them.
The windows build works fine!. I think i got all the possible endings ^^. I also tried to get to the daughter directly and i did find her but you can't interact with her. It would have been a nice "easter egg" but i understand that there would be too many variations haha. The movement feels nice and things are at a nice scale. A couple effects like fade-in/fade-out for the history would be a nice adition. Nice work!
I liked the stylized graphics and moral ambiguity of it, just missed a health bar on the craft 😅 You already know it, but for reference, here’s my playthrough of it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR7fySdOzeA
looked everywhere for a way to save everyone, but I couldn't get to the daughter's ship first; or it wouldn't let me pick her up first and then go to the survivors. I wanted to make sure she was safe before making it known to the survivors that there was a way off the planet. Granted they might have all been dead, but that's a sacrifice we were willing to make. The first choice was to save them all because families can be together forever someday.
nice game. i loved under construction. mesmerizing space dots. ^_^
Not bad! It feels a bit unfinished, but then that tends to happen in LD
The gameplay works well, and the way you're told where to go is very effective without getting in the way. I liked the graphics, and despite what you said I think the audio sounds good too.
The one thing for me personally is that I'm not fond of "dark", so while the "you have to make choices and live with them" is good at setting the mood, it's not really a mood I enjoy. That's not a rating issue though, it's really just me.
Quests? And a storyline? In my compo game? I liked it and it has a great vibe. You should definitely spend a bit of time shaping it up into your original vision, if you can find the time! :) I didn't find myself really engaging with the enemies or the shooting, because I could just whizz past them to the quest marker, but I didn't mind.
