This game was very fun. Great job!

incd021 2022-10-02 18:03

@neojeb3748963 Thanks for playing, and the kind words. :)

mrscythe 2022-10-03 06:54

Nice game! Level 10 was a very tricky one haha. All of the sudden I saw a bunch more triangles. And then at the end realised what it spelled out haha.

zoglu 2022-10-03 07:25

I really enjoyed this one, it's an interesting use of the theme ! Also, what a polished game for a compo ! The graphics and sounds are on point.

incd021 2022-10-03 08:09

@mrscythe Thanks :D Level 10 was made to be almost unbeatable as there are no ending to the game. When designing the level I just placed it at random, and it looked like an L and a D so had to go with it. :) Thanks for playing and rating :D

incd021 2022-10-03 08:12

@zoglu Thanks for the very kind comment :D I for once aimed for a very simple game, and it allowed me to spend more time on graphics and sound. Thanks for acknowledging my effort and thanks for playing :D

m11 2022-10-03 08:21

Really nice game - totally on-theme, and an impressive level of polish!

incd021 2022-10-03 08:24

@m11 Thanks :D As always I hated the theme, but this time it turned out ok. Thanks for rating and playing :D

2022-10-03 17:52

Good job! Interesting idea, graphic is amazing (sounds of crash is scared a little bit (I go change my pants))

cyberfrank 2022-10-03 17:58

Nice feel and well-designed gameplay + nice shader effects! The sound effects were a bit harsh perhaps and maybe missing some background music.

holy-doggo01 2022-10-03 17:58

Cool concept, great implementation. However, every 10 seconds triangles are set to a position very close to a required one, so i could just click on them to set them in place and beat the level.

nyrh 2022-10-03 17:59

Good idea, graphicaly impressive. I had fun at first but level 10 isn't fun at all, I just ragequit. Solid though

100th-coin 2022-10-03 18:08

I like the idea, but god dang that last level was torture.

_______Torture.PNG

There wasn't even a "you win" screen? There was actually no payoff for completing that last stage. What a bad feeling.

I like the game, and the ten second timer made it pretty tough. My strategy was to place all the pieces right next to their slots, since they don't move around if unslotted. I can then wait for the ten seconds to happen, and rush all the pieces in their slots before they shake around.

Anyway, cool game, but the lack of a "you win screen" made it incredibly disappointing. I assume you didn't expect anyone to clear it and or you just wanted a fun "LD51" screen, but why would you make it playable? If that screen *IS* the victory screen, why would you let the players even try to complete it?

incd021 2022-10-03 18:53

@100th-coin Sorry for the missing win screen, I didn't expect anyone trying to beat the last level, and even fewer that would actually beat it. Thanks so much for putting the effort.. I promise to never make a game without a win screen EVER again. So sorry. Glad you did enjoy enough to finish it. Thanks :D Totally optimal strategy to place all the pieces right next to their slots. I had all the pieces moving at first but it made it even more confusing. Thanks for playing and rating. :D

100th-coin 2022-10-03 18:55

Ha! Don't worry. I've definitely made ludum dare games before that I didn't expect people to beat. Player's definitely have more fun when they can beat a game though. I recommend adding a speedrun timer to every game, and showing the final time when they win. It adds a little something for players to show off with in their comments.

incd021 2022-10-03 18:56

@cmaujluk Glad you enjoyed the game, sorry for the change of pants. Thanks for playing and rating. :D

incd021 2022-10-03 18:59

@cyberfrank I tried making some background-music, but had to stop as it was awful, I simply can't make music. I only make hellish noises. Thanks for the nice words, for playing and for rating :D Thanks.

incd021 2022-10-03 19:02

@holy-doggo01 a random number of the pieces that are snapped in placed are moved at random within a given range. If I moved them far away from set location, the game would become impossible very fast. So yes they stay close to where you put them. Thanks for feedback, playing and rating. Thanks :D

incd021 2022-10-03 19:04

@nyrh Getting through level 10 should be a very hard challenge, as I didn't get to making a win screen I wanted the last level to be very hard, to avoid too many finding out. Thanks for playing :D Sorry for the raise in blood pressure.

chitoyuu 2022-10-04 09:37

It's a brilliant move to make the every-10-seconds event only mildly infuriating. The usual 10-second hard limit fare doesn't really emphasize the "every" part quite enough, so I'm happy to see a deviation from that formula! I'd really love a fullscreen mode for the WebGL build, as with the small viewport here on LDJAM I do need to squint a little bit to see where the tiny white arrows are pointing at. Nice game otherwise and great job!

incd021 2022-10-04 11:01

@chitoyuu Did start out with the hard limit of 10 s for each level, but that wasn't really working, and trying the "push the table" worked very well, I stuck with it. First I wanted it to be a cat showing up pushing the pieces, but didn't fit the rest of the graphics, and time didn't allow for me to find another visual indicator, like lighting or space warp, who knows. Thanks for the feedback, playing and rating :D

fabula-rasa 2022-10-04 15:07

This is exactly how trying to play a miniature board game with a very curious cat in the house looks like!

I like this concept and the interpretation of the theme. Graphics are nice and clean (especially this bloom effect and its use in animation). I played the downloadable version and the game just looped back to level 1 after I finished level 10 - not sure if that's by design or a bug.

I made the last level easy by just first grouping the triangles by their respective 'tiny arrow' direction. After that, it was a breeze

Thanks for the game! I had fun with it.

pascal-fitzner 2022-10-04 18:47

I really like the graphics; the neon style look elevates the whole game feel, the only thing I was missing was a little background music.

incd021 2022-10-04 19:04

@pascal-fitzner As mentioned "I tried making some background-music, but had to stop as it was awful, I simply can’t make music. I only make hellish noises" So I think it's better without, than the noise I created. Thanks for the kind words and for playing :D

incd021 2022-10-04 19:22

@fabula-rasa Thanks for the kind words :D It's by design... I didn't have time for a win screen so ended up just trying to make the last level almost impossible so to avoid to many seeing that it just looped back .... . Good strategy  Thanks for the feedback and for playing :D

roboolet 2022-10-05 14:18

It's a cool game, i like how it plays and looks. The shaking up of the board was just kind of annoying though (and not really the fun kind either). My favourite level is definitely level 9, since it was a cool feeling to intuit where each piece should go based on the angle. In any case, i enjoyed it enough to finish level 10 (which took everything out of me)

lawrence 2022-10-05 14:35

It's a nice puzzle game with pretty graphics, very nice.

The only thing that was a bit annoying is that the pointer and the mouse position did not overlap, it was a bit offsetted (this was playing web version on Ludum Dare page)

Good job!

incd021 2022-10-06 05:55

@roboolet Sorry that you didn't like the shaking idea, most seem to like it. Glad you still enjoyed it enough to finish all the levels. :D Thanks for playing.

incd021 2022-10-06 06:00

@lawrence Thanks for the kind words, I usually do not make anything pretty, but as it this time was restricted to triangles, I managed :D Year, I mentioned the cursor on web versions as a problem, but no one has been able to help me with a solution :( It's confusing when you have two pointers. Also playing the embedded version on this page, it doesn't help there aren't an option for full screen. Thanks for playing :D

kizilejderha 2022-10-06 07:56

I love the visual style of the game, but sometimes it's a bit difficult to distinguish empty slots from actual moveable triangles. The little direction thingies on the tip of the triangles could be bigger to make them more readable too.

Shaking is a good idea, but as the number of triangles increase it gets to the point where you cannot even recover from the last shake before the next one hits (this was only a problem for the last level tho, which seems to be intentionally difficult)

Good game overall

incd021 2022-10-06 09:55

@kizilejderha Thanks for the feedback. On the Web version the tris and indicators are too small, agree. On the full screen version it's not an issue. You should always be able to recover, but the shake is randomized so you might have been the victim of some extra nasty shakes. Thanks for the feedback and for playing :D

phoenixofforce 2022-10-06 11:33

Great puzzle game. I sometimes had a problem, that i couldnt grab the triangles, which was a bit weird. Well done :)

incd021 2022-10-06 16:31

@phoenixofforce Thanks for playing, I guess you played the web version where the cursor isn't disabled, so there are two pointers. Shouldn't be a problem in the windows version.

lone-wolf 2022-10-06 16:34

Cursor Fix:

To hide the cursor you need to do `cursor: hidden;` on the canvas element (`canvas.#unity-canvas` or ``). It shows as `cursor: default;` in my inspector.

Game Review:

The reset 'pshhhhht' was maybe 2x too loud, making it very jarring. Once I muted my sound I had a much more relaxing playthrough.

This currently feels like a jigsaw puzzle with a twist and nice space theme. Not sure if you were going for that, if not I think this could be made more interesting by resetting the loose triangles to their starting positions every 10 seconds, and making certain triangle arrangements stick together and not get reset. So you have to build a 'foundation' within the slots that need to be filled first.

Otherwise: Great work! unknown.png

bangkerpow 2022-10-07 01:27

Very cool style on this one. I wish the snap range on the triangles is a little bigger but probably because I'm bad.

incd021 2022-10-07 05:40

@bangkerpow I set the distance when creating the snapping method, and never changed/optimized it. Didn't even think about it. Great input. Thanks. Thanks for playing and for the feedback Thanks. :D

incd021 2022-10-07 05:46

@lone-wolf Thanks for the cursor input, I do believe it's what I tried, but I'll give it another go. I didn't adjust the volume of any of the sounds, as I normally do, and when playtesting I don't find it louder than the other sounds.. Might be my headset compressing it, as you aren't the first to mention it. :/ Thanks for the feedback and for playing :D

etrealjunior 2022-10-07 16:09

Congratulations on the game, I love these games, it reminded me of tangram, I felt that the marker delay got in my way when I needed to be faster, because it causes me inaccuracy to pick up the pieces, it's very challenging and fun, a big hug.

incd021 2022-10-07 19:50

Marker delay? Shouldn't be any.. Might be the WebGL version where I wasn't able to remove the cursor. Glad you liked the game :D I do not know tangram. Thanks for playing :D

shibaya 2022-10-07 22:09

Great game with nice visuals and sound effects! Good job!

commanderstitch 2022-10-08 15:24

I GOT IT. i finally beat the last level after putting triangles where they shouldn't be a couple times. Very solid entry. Nice graphics. :D

incd021 2022-10-10 05:47

@commanderstitch Thanks for playing, and the kind words :D

dysleixc 2022-10-10 10:28

Fantastic graphics and really smooth feel. Will definitely be interested to inspect sources on how this is implemented.

incd021 2022-10-10 19:17

@dysleixc Uhhh, code is as always for LD, hack on hack, but it works. :) Thanks for playing :D

vidarn 2022-10-17 19:29

Nice graphics and colors. I found the game to be a good length and the difficulty ramp to be nice. I gave up on the last level though  The game was very polished and had a nice atmosphere.
