LD45 — Start with nothing

Space trial by PaulLyaudet 2019-10-11T17:00:48Z

Love the idea! The graphics are lovely et the music intense. I think it'd be worth continuing the project and make it a complete game, well done!

The Carpenter by Valentin4311 2019-10-08T20:17:07Z

Hey all, thank you for your comments, we really appreciate them!

We understand that some points can be unclear, especially around the "build your house" gameplay, so here is some explanation:

Gathering resources when sliding downhill allows you to improve your home. Your house is built automatically when you visit it, based on how much resources you possess. The more resources, the more pleaseant and cozy your home will be! And of course, you start with nothing.

Hope this helps some of you :)

Modulizer by Kotie 2019-10-08T18:12:43Z

I love the idea and inspiration from Isaac! Like you said, the game is quite hard. Maybe adding a small cooldown before enemies attack you when you enter a room would make it a bit easier and enjoyable when you start playing.

Nice little platform game. I think you respected the theme pretty well! Although I think the controls are a bit harsh and the grapnel allows you to take some shortcuts making the game a lot easier. Maybe some balancing is needed but good job!

Ships, Sharks and Shanties by Grangerer 2019-10-08T18:38:34Z

Loved it! I managed to reach about 360. The graphics look original and I like the theme of the game :) Well done!

POLYMON by PIXAMENTORY 2019-10-08T15:24:15Z

It is a quite hard to evaluate distances and know where we are in my opinion. Otherwise the idea is good!

My Friend N by rroni 2019-10-08T17:26:01Z

The animation at the beginning is neat! The game itself is a bit short, but with more time I'm sure it would be great! Well done for yout first entry

Hostage Escape by Maksym 2020-04-23T15:56:37Z

Excellent game! Smart use of assets and puzzles are well thought! Well done :)

Interstellar Connection by celia14 2020-04-22T15:27:35Z

Absolutely loved it, really! The minimalistic art fits so well to the ambiance, the gameplay is simple to understand and the little story kept me playing until the end. Well-thought and well scoped for the short time of the LD, you just nailed it!

IT Thrives by Quarter Up Studios 2020-04-23T15:38:50Z

Loved it, the game is pretty addictive! I feel like a winning condition, like being able to destroy the enemy bases would have been nice. But overall it's great!

Peck Beach by matfernandestt 2020-04-21T19:31:04Z

Love the art! I also like the music except in fights, which is quite stressful and frustrating due to the very short loop. I think this game would greatly benefit some story though, but you still did great, well done :)

The Most Simple Farm by RIBOUT Horace 2020-04-23T16:13:25Z

My chicken now has enough food for the rest of its life. Great job, love the art!

Story of Lost Demon by Epsulon 2020-04-21T16:15:46Z

Well done! The graphics are okay and I like the death particles.

However, the game felt quite frustrating. The music loop is very short and becomes annoying after a while. The respawn time is maybe too long and the disappearing platforms are probably not visible enough, which gives an unfairness feeling.

All in all, the small story is nice and it is pretty good for the short time and the fact that you were alone working on it.

Last Light by PORTABLEWAFFLE 2020-04-23T14:52:10Z

I like the art, sound and ambiance in general, but I couldn't figure out the goal of the game. I didn't manage to gather the crystals and I couldn't find any other actions than moving around. But anyway good job on the art part!

Coal Of Duty by Empheon 2020-04-22T18:44:56Z

@wolfier Actually, the instructions are right there when you start the game :)

Thank you all for your heartwarming comments!

The Machine's Blessing by Solrinn 2020-04-21T19:15:03Z

As most of the comments say, the game is a bit confusing at first, but some simple things could help improving the comprehension! For example, highlighting the cart when you select food, or adding a clear arrow to the drawer handle so we understand to click there (and make it disappear after the first click). It's also a bit difficult to understand how the fertility/water/oil things affect on the crops. For example, I didn't understand what the "+1 quality" was doing, more the utility of "+3 water" since we have plenty of it (or maybe I'm not using it the way it was meant to be used).

Nevertheless, the music and art are beautiful. For a first game jam you all did a great job so you can be proud of yourself! The overall idea is pretty good! Can't wait to see you guys at the ENJMIN

I'm definitely a ramsesdocus2, its hat is way too fab and I'm jealous of its beard.

The game was fun and I'm glad I managed to save those dinos from hell. The art is great, maybe some background music would be nice but overall I loved it!

Cthulhu must be kept alive by vartagh 2020-04-22T19:21:13Z

The idea is fun and the art is cool, well done! However some music would be nice and maybe make the movements a bit faster, going so slowly towards the humans is a bit frustrating.
