Nice atmosphere with combination good graphics & sounds. Well done! :smile:

bomb-x 2021-10-05 08:41

It was really cool to move around; it hooks me for a while! The sound design is so chiiiiiill I didn't understand what to achieve with hot/cold system and if there is an end to the game? Well done Horace!! :D

phanelly 2021-10-05 08:46

Wow, I really liked you game. It felt like a little poem, like the games from ThatGameCompany or some Pixar short. Very beautiful, and well polished.

mokiinwarp 2021-10-05 08:48

I love the sounds and artwork! The atmosphere is great too! Is 'nowhere' the ending? I'm not sure if I've reached the end. Nice job, I really enjoyed it!

sirkovitch 2021-10-05 09:05

Really cute game, the atmosphere is fantastic ! Also original gameplay, loved it !

yotamco 2021-10-05 09:27

I really enjoyed it! Amazing music and art. The game really gives you a peaceful yet engaging feeling. Amazing job!

aaaaaalois 2021-10-06 14:35

It's really a beautiful game, I really have fun playing it!

samuel-hollywood-summers 2021-10-06 14:48

Truly beautiful experience. The gameplay was simple and relaxing. The music was beautiful and really helped to create a pleasant atmosphere. I spent a while struggling to find the final ghost, and unsure if I'd already been everywhere and there was just no end state. I enjoyed listening to the music as I explored and finally found the last ghost. Thanks for sharing.

@mahjoub Thank you very much ! Hope you finish to the end !

@bomb-x Yes there is an end to the game : ghost need to cool down or to be heat up. If you help them all, you'll get to the ending. But this is the kind of game where the experience is probably more important than the treasure at the end.

@phanelly Oh, thank you a lot ! That one of the sweetest comment I ever have... Thank you ! Glad that you enjoy it !

@mokiinwarp Thank for the compliment!!! I'm glad you like it. For the ending : you can help ghost, if you help them all, a clear ending will show up. But it's not that important, it's a "the true treasure was the gameplay and ambiance we experienced all the way" type of game.

@sirkovitch Thank you ! I love to make the gameplay first and then, seeking an atmosphere to fit it

@yotamco Eheh, glad you get along with it! The flow is important in this kind of game and I'm happy to see it work !

@aaaaaalois Thank you !

@samuel-hollywood-summers Thank you for taking the time to finish the game! I'm glad you succeed and that you didn't get bored~~~

I Loved the sound, music and the mood of the game S2

mahjoub 2021-10-07 08:56

@ribout-horace yeah I went to the end and appreciated the experience :ghost:

fabula-rasa 2021-10-10 11:49

Really cool atmosphere. The ambient music, the sfx, the colors and the chalk-on-a-blackboard simple graphics are work superbly well together. Well done!

It was relaxing and pleasant to play. Controls work well and all is intuitive. I wasn't sure if there is some "end", but I guess there isn't. I found four ghosts and "Nothing" :).

My one criticism would be: the theme is not really all that well represented.

basset-romain 2021-10-10 12:24

Really nice game with a calming atmosphere. Just feeling like the shortest ropes are kinda harsh on me. Really good experience Overall.

manio 2021-10-10 13:19

This is my favorit so far! Wow I love the mechanic of moving from lamp to lamp. Took me a bit to figure out you have to shine hot or cold light at the ghosts but it was fun figuring it out. The game looks fantastic and the sound, I find especially well made. I love that each time you move, a note from each given scale plays :)

feraligatr 2021-10-10 13:22

Nice concept, nice art, nice game.

ribout-horace 2021-10-10 21:17

@dagon Thank you !

@fabula-rasa There is 5 ghost and an end! But ghost are hard to found (it was kinda the point but still didn't work as intended...)

And yes, the theme get lost while it was very present at the begining of development : the bulb was a loose one, who was unstable and had to keep jumping or else, could fall and died, but it was too harsch. All the ghost should be unstable and move around, but it add too much to the workload and also were already difficult to find... In the end, I thinked that the dialog should convey the theme, but it's not that present too. I agreed.

@basset-romain Thank you ! But yeah, there is some bug on the deplacement, I did a lot of trial and error before getting a good movement gameplay... (the first day of the jam was dedicaded to that. Even the morning of the second day) but I'm glad it didn't ruin your experience

@manio Thanks for all your compliment ! I don't know how to respond but I'm really grateful I worked with a sound designer (aka Choucroute) for the sound, 'cause that really a field where I cannot do anything... He made the game feel alive and help the journey to be as pleasant as possible~~~

@feraligatr Thanks !

ivysly 2021-10-10 22:05

brilliant atmosphere and sound!! good work :D

marc-jones 2021-10-10 22:13

Very polished entry. Relatively minimalist graphics, but they suited the game and looked good. Audio was fantastic; I loved the feedback you got from switching lights and how it sounded good whether you were going quickly or slowly. As another commenter said the theme wasn't too well represented, but otherwise a great entry.

agentparsec 2021-10-11 07:26

As someone who also likes to put dynamic music into games, I really appreciate the notes that play when you switch lights. The sound design as a whole was very well done!

spicyshiba 2021-10-12 06:25

I really like the atmosphere for this game!

ribout-horace 2021-10-13 18:10

@ivysly thank you !!

@marc-jones Thank you! I had to have a good ambient and sound design for a moody game like this

@agentparsec It's a friend of mine who did it, and it was relatively simple to implement (we play random note from a list of "same key" sound ; and if we pick the same note twice, we repick. So it's really rare to have twice the same note but can still happen)

@spicyshiba Thanks you !

gryhyphen 2021-10-14 04:33

Really nice polish and well-rounded narrative game!

A critic is that switching between lights seemed to spam when I held space, and sometimes I would switch to a different light then the one shown by the "lock on" icon.

But all in all, a great entry!

ribout-horace 2021-10-14 09:23

@gryhyphen I see the problem here and it happens time to time (the game hesitate between two light, and goes to one to another quickly. So, when you press the button, it "lock" another lamp but don't even have the time to show it. I wanted have add a timer to change the lock but it slow down the jump from light to light in quick succession, and didn't have time to find a better solution for it.)

But thank you for your lightwarming compliment! I'm glad you like it !

penguinmunch 2021-10-15 23:38

This game was amazing!! I felt so relaxed playing it, and I could definitely see myself playing it for hours. The sound design was absolutely beautiful as well!

valiantsugar 2021-10-19 09:12

This is very cool! The idea is awesome. I would love to see a full-fledged game based on this "demo"

sam-gorman 2021-10-21 19:58

Really moody and ethereal! Great art and music, and I loved swinging the light around.
