Great game! I got to about 3 minutes my first try, and I really enjoyed it! Super-duper fun, love the pixelated camera effect! The game was immersive enough it made me forget that the police *don't* actually know what I did (XD)! 4 outta 5 stars, keep up the good work! :D
Fun for a bit, but that missile seems to penalize good driving. I'd rather just keep evading more and more police instead. Overall nice job.
Good little game! I love the art style and the game overall feels great to play. I like how you gradually introduce more and more hazards, at least I think you do as it took me some time before the missiles appeared. One complaint I have is that the camera is a bit slow in turns which made it hard to avoid spikes or cones on the ground round the corners.
This is very immersive! It took me a little bit to understand the controls, but I figured it out. The police AI was made very well. I made it 3 minutes in my best attempt.
Thanks everyone! @hungrycatgames yup that pretty much ends up happening the longer you survive.
Good game. The map ended up trapping me weirdly pretty early, though.
Fun small game with simple controls and a fitting art style. Nicely done!

Good game! The gameplay is immersive and these pixelated graphics work very well with the FX and the theme. However, I think that the camera is a little weird when you turn.

cool game! i love that you integrated a leaderboard. i tried to reach 3 minutes to overtake the number 1 spot, but couldn't make it sadly! the feel of the city, the graphics and the music complement eachother greatly - they feel like they are made for eachother, which makes playing the game much more fun! i hope more people will find your entry <3
This is a fun and original game. The music fits the aesthetic well.
The missiles frustrated me at first, but once I realized that they are preceded by a sound effect and a visual cue, they were a welcome challenge.
There were a few buildings I could just circle around forever without the cops ever chasing me. I would have liked more aggressive cops. But overall I enjoyed it!

I loved the art and the music, it is very interesting how you achieved to create this retro style.
Also Interesting movement decision, at the beginning I didn't like it but I got used to it very quickly and I started to love it :)
Good job overall you did a very solid entry :)
Thanks for creating this game I really enjoyed it.

A simple but fun game. Interesting car mechanics. Shame you can't enter name in the leaderboard. I achieved 3:59.
Thanks everyone! @gibberingtaylor police AI was one of the biggest struggles throughout the jam and the thing we'd like to work on the most too, thanks for the feedback! @someone had to rush the leaderboards and it was done in about 10 minutes but definitely next time and congrats on the highscore.

This was really fun! The game was a very creative take on the theme and really well polished! I really felt like a trapped mouse, trying to delay the inevitable :P The sudden turn controls were a bit suprising at first, bit I quickly became used to it. It was actually really nice to have super responsive controls!
I sometimes had that a missile strike would happen immediately after I turned a corner where I could not see the road, which felt a little unfair. Also at some point a police car chased me from behind and in the end caught me, but I don't really know how I could have avoided that.
The music could have been a bit more intense for my tastes, but I think the sound effects were chosen really well! The police sirens, and the slipping tires when taking a turn really felt great and were super immersive! I liked the camera angle as well. Nice and low to the ground, which made the world feel very claustrophobic :) Very solid submission to the jam! I had a lot of fun with this :D
At first I thought it was going to be too simple of a game being on rails, but then it ended up being much more involved than I realized. Nice job. I would often see police cars rolling around but didn't get to see what caused it =( might be nice to get a better view with the camera to see all the action!
@thebooksnail honestly I wish we knew too. Police cars can actually hit blockades and send each other flying but it's not always that. There's also another funny bug where the blast radius for the missile is too big which again sends them flying.

The swerve animation is really smooth, nice job!
Sometimes I'd have no vision of what's around the corner until I turn it, which leads to a surprise police trap. But I guess that's part of the spirit of the game.
Nice job getting it to look as good as it does! Some of the interactions were nice touches, too, like: - I swerved away from a spike trap at the last second and a cop car behind me plowed right into it - Cop cars hitting each other and rolling off the road
That said, I do wish there was more to this game. I ended up closing it out without losing around the four minute mark since I seemed to have seen it all, and it didn't seem to be getting harder. I also wish the cops that were right on my tail took more to avoid than just changing lanes. Felt weird for them to just pass me by on the left like I wasn't in a car chase.

Everything is fine in the game, but the camera turns with a delay on turns, it gets in the way a little.
Nice game! Cool idea and well executed, the cop cars flopping around really cracked me up.

hehe, got to number 2 with 4:29 (high scores did a good job of making me want to play more :P). I really like the look of this game, its simple but the pixelation is really beautiful - great retro feel. Sound & music was nice too and fit well with the game. Controls were also really tight and felt good. I agree with the other commenter that it would be nice if the camera snapped around the corner faster, so you could catch those early obstacles. I was also caught by police coming up behind me, which I'm not sure it was possible to predict, so that felt a little unfair (or maybe I'm just bitter about coming second) anyway, great game and nice entry, I think this would be really fun on mobile if you were thinking of releasing it!

#11 here! :D I don't know if there is a strategy to achieve a better score or it's just pure luck?
Sometimes those "rockets" suprised me in a corner or two because I was unable to see it due to a building.
Now I've just answered my question: I guess I could have reached a better score if I would have taken the unsafe paths first, when there is still low the amount of police presence. (Because my guess is that police is spawned on path yoU've already taken, right?)
Anyway, end of monologue. I think it's a fun little game, maybe lacks a bit of depth. But it has a nice atmosphere, it's polished and it got something new.
Nice entry, cheers!
@ciaranw @tudvari thanks both! The main strategy for dealing with police is taking turns at the last minute so that they don't end up catching up to you. More and more spawn in as the time goes on so it becomes a bit harder that way.

I'm usually terrible at games so happy with #5! Although here on @ciaranw 's recommendation so a bit bitter I didn't beat him! Really great concept and well executed. It felt like there was good variation in the pathways and once I realised left and right was to change lanes not turn corners, felt nicely like more strategy than a straight up driving game which is more of a test of reaction times. Again, I agree with the camera issue previously mentioned but managed to avoid it a bit by aiming for corners you could see in advance so wasn't a dealbreaker! Was slightly annoyed that I died due to three cars across the three lanes though... Ah well!
Graphically super nice with lots of different things going on and felt very dynamic, especially with the sound effects.
Overall, awesome job!
Thank you so much @teto !
