I'm not gonna lie, the camera needs some work...
But the game itself is a whole, with lots of personality! Very charming game!

This game has some really good mechanics and interesting gameplay, the voice acting is great! So was the voice acting one person?
@erivas-soulares Thanks! Do you mean the camera in the intro/outro, or the camera during gameplay?
@equalenergy yes! Although we altered the pitch of the voice lines of the boy slightly
Fun aesthetic! Has a lot of character. I thought the placement of the boat when throwing eggs was really smart, it was always where I expected it to be without any UI needed to direct the player. The controls made me a little dizzy, I think the speed which you turn may be a little to fast.
This is sooooo coool Love the aesthetic, love the reference to Rick&Morty, love the setting with the flood, and the dinosaurs are so cute
One little remark: at first I didn't understand I could jump on the dodo to get food.
But well done, great game !
Controlling the guy is really unfriendly, once you go only directly towards its fine, but once you turn left or right, the camera is crazy, which is a shame it could be real fun otherwise. On the other hands, I love the voiceover and Back to the future/Rick and Morty duo.
Really cool game that definitely scratches my "retro 3d adventure"-itch. The controls were a bit weird at the beginning but easy to get the feel for. I couldn't really find out what the feathers did but nontheless it's a great game and I had lots of fun playing it.
@hilkojj, During the Gameplay. The turning is pretty "abrasive" with the player, giving barely no control to the player, and interfering with the movement.
Camera it's a tricky matter...
No way this was made in a weekend. Enjoyed the game, this gives me an N64 vibe, do you have any other games like this?
P.S. the camera was giving me a run for my money.
@gamer-fates Yeah we used Lego Island and Super Mario 64 as inspiration. Not really, but maybe there will be after next Ludum Dare
I agree with the rest, the camera need some rework. Maybe using modern controls instead of tank controls might do the trick. Aside of that, it's amazing! I really love the retro style, it reminds me of the first 3D games for PS1 or N64. Good job!
I really like the N64 design and voice acting. The game is fun ! Nice work !
I enjoyed it a lot. The controls aren't the best, but still enjoyable.
Thanks for the feedback, the controls/camera will get some more attention next time.
For the people seeing this: How many eggs did you manage to rescue?
There are SO many games on this LD with great and unique artstyles. And yours is one of it. Congratulations with great entry!
Really nice game, I love the N64 style graphics and voice acting! Unfortunately the controls were a bit difficult to grasp, and it wasn't super clear that I needed to jump on the dodos.
I enjoyed the voice acting the most. The camera could use some work though. Maybe attaching it to the mouse movement?
Enjoyed the graphics so much! Reminded me of old N64 games like Banjo Kazooie. But yes, the controls look like they were taken from a driving car instead of a 3rd person platformer. Other than that fantastic! Top of the games I played. The voice acting was hillarious as well.
The graphics of this game blew me away. It's amazing how it just NAILS the old N64 style (not only the graphics but also the camera that's never where you want it ). The voice acting was amazing too! and wtf.. you made your own engine and used that for a jam!?!?!!? jeez, amazing!
Wow, I'm so impressed with this game! And to think you made your own engine! It takes me back to Nintendo 64 vibes, which felt very nostalgic. Nice graphics, good voices and cute dino's + birbs. And you even made cut-scenes! I've no bad words, good job!
Damn, those dodos can shove hard xD First thing that came to my mind when I saw the eggs... Untitled.png
Seconding others that the camera needs some work, it's just too annoying for me to fully appreciate this game :( would love to have manual camera control. Everything else seems amazing!
@devedse I played Super Mario 64 online and used it as inspiration for my own controls/camera implementation. That maybe explains why many people have issues with it? 😅🤔
@archaeognathus 😂
Camera was extremely disorienting, give control to the mouse - this resembles Super Mario World. Spatial perspective when jumping onto dodo's was deceptive - especially when they begin moving towards you AFTER you start the jump, but if you jump early to counter that you will land before they get to you. I love the rising water concept, though it didn't have that much of an impact for spatial confinement (limited space theme).
Big points for the Doc/Rick character, humor, and custom voicings!
LOVED the style of this! Everything feels like it was made with the N64 era in mind. This was also a very fun take on the theme. Overall, great entry!!
This really gave me classic N64 vibes! Well done. I enjoyed the aesthetic. The level design was also well thought out. Making the dodos not only an enemy to avoid but a tool needed to get the eggs was smart design!
Like others have said, the camera goofiness prevented me from enjoying the gameplay as much as I could. I'd love to play an update!
I'm going to interpret the fidgety camera as an extreme dedication to the PSX/N64 aesthetic, which I liked a lot. This is a great product of a jam, things mostly work, it has a beginning and an end (I think?) and cute character art and more polish than a jam game could expect to have.
reminded me of a mario n64 game and i can see the inspiration for the camera movement. Looks really good. enjoyed playing it. And I'm really impressed that u wrote the game using the tools u listed during the jam.
So much retro nostalgia vibes. You've perfectly recaptured early 3D era platformers. It's even more impressive that it's done in your own game engine! That's so cool! One day I hope to submit an LD game made in my own engine...
Omg, I fell in love in the first sequence! Great job!! So much fun to play - even though i drowned the first time :D
