I found the game lacking feedback :/ papers please feelings, loved the art :)
@rzfmzn Lacking feedback? Hmmm what do you mean? Yeah i like papers please too... And, well, 1.5 days after jam start, i was listening papers ost and was thought... "Hmmm.. Why not." And cange the full idea, to copy paste this XD Actualy it was after my photoshop killed 4 hours of work. But it still kind of cool, i guess... =)
I was not sure what I had to do (till i discovered that I had to click the gate to admit a person) The first time I've played the banner in the top left was greyed, less visible, this time I was able to see it. How many ppl shall I allow into the castle? how do I lose? This kind of elements are not very clear. The banner is also a little hidden, and even ppl with human appearence decrease the banner and ppl without human appearance increase :/ this confused me a bit. papers please, since you headed towards that direction, had a line with X person and x time to admit them all. Sugestions to further develop your game is to switch from the rules/admit tab automatically and admit, one at a time, the ppl to speed up a bit your game :) A help screen, prior to the game begining, could help too :) again, loved the art :D
@rzfmzn Thanks for clarifying, yes, I fully understood that there would be such problems, but alas, I didn’t have the time, and probably the strength to do at least one third of what was left after the change in concentration and its reduction. just not alone... Although you also need to be able to work in a team... =) And one more time thank you!
anytime :D hope you continue your game and the feedback can aid you :)
It looks like a great twist on paper please, I quite like the art, however I had some trouble playing it : I didn't notice when the rules changes or when the days pass so It feel like I have an infinite stream of ppl coming , and I wasn't sure if I was doing right or not, maybe you should have a clear cut between different level ?
@pk-c oh, lol you are right. I just totally forgot about this mechanic XD mb =)Thank you any way!
The art on this is really great, but it was really hard to get into it, for the longest time I was just click accept on human otherwise no. I didn't even realize the laws had changed until I randomly clicked back on it to see. I still wasn't sure what exactly was going on. Then, the game just ended, suddenly, with music and I about crapped my pants LoL.
@archimagus XD ireally dos no expet that tha music can make effect like this. thank yo =)
The graphics are really cute and it's an interesting concept, but it's hard to figure out what's going on. I wasn't really sure what the point really was, but I kept clicking on things and eventually let some humans through \o/
Good job overall
@sarah Overall? Did you you mean graphic only? XD Thank you any way =)
Managed to to make it to the end! :) Wasn't too sure what the number on the top-left meant but I eventually got a feel on how to make it increase. Anyway, I loved the graphics and the Papers please vibe. :smile:
@fluffygamedev If banner counter == 0 at the end of day, you can get game over screen.You have a day conter in the middle of left side of scree. Every day you get new rules-story (it may have not correct traslation yeah) If you make mistake you loose point if not, got. Something like this =) But... As i see in html5 rules not work -_-
@rs11s21n No I meant overall as in, good job making it all work together :3 Sometimes it can be hard to get something even functioning during the jam haha
@sarah Oh! You right. I done a lot of stuff which is doesn't work or work completely wrong for another james xD
Strong Papers Please inspiration, of course. Seems like the rules don't change correctly in the HTML5 build? Eventually it looked like I was losing score even though I followed what it said. I started guessing and that worked mostly okay. I think it could have used some UX improvements (like a NEXT button instead of clicking on the people, for example), and some more variety in gameplay (but perhaps I missed it).
@eli-delventhal Well i have no idea why, but yes, in html5 text loadig dosn't work, which is actulay most probabley engin side stuff and i have no idea why =) And well, not have alot of time for make mor things in game. and also windows make alot of problems for me =) Thank you alot.
Cool game
@pashaloban Are you sure that this is a game? xD
@rs11s21n maybe)
"There was an error with your request" when trying to load the page
@rubenwardy huh? what do you mean? Link is work for me...
looks like itch was just down temporarily, I can load it now
The art is really nice, but I'm not really sure who I'm supposed to be accepting or rejecting, and there doesn't seem to be any difference. It would also be good if it could support fullscreen
@rubenwardy In download version you can scale game window and for some reasons day description work only in it too -_- Btw thank you! =)
Good game! As others have said this was a neat play on the Papers Please game mechanics. And I really liked the graphics! I think the main issue I found was that (this was on the downloaded version) the rules didn't always seem to be matching up with the day. I'd be following the rules and then suddenly find that I'm losing points, then a little later the day changes and I get a rule that matches with what was going on. I was often just, rather than following the rules, letting in whatever race seemed to get me points. I was also wondering - are the halflings counted as a part of the dwarf race? During the "let in only dwarfs" phase, I found that I lost points if I turned away halflings. Other than those things though, I thought this was a good game, and I liked it! Well done!
@eoshadows Thank you. It is sound like- "It may probably be a good game, but it not." xD And this is probably true. xD
Great art, and good job getting this out in a weekend, especially as it sounds like you're one person doing it all. Love the art style, but I guess my comments are similar to the ones above about not getting completely clear feedback on how I was failing the rules. But love the different character sprites and the dark tone of suspicion. This could be expanded in interesting ways.
@rixar yeah, rules is a main proble like an almost always =) Thank you this i any way cool that you has powers for leave comment =)
Nice
Really fantastic work on the graphics! Would be interested to see this idea expanded upon. There's definitely room out there for a Papers-Please-style game in a fantasy environment.
@varundevs Nice!
@samuel-fine hmmm, you think so?
