I actually found myself confused with what to do. Do you have to stay in the game until the timer runs out? Because i did that and it said "Game Over". I'm too stupid for this. :-)

Thanks @cedric86 for playing! You're definitely not, I'd say it's much rather to blame on the game dev's design choices ;) and on the lack of time to create a proper win state. I hoped you could play against your previous results, but a "win message" would definitely be more motivating!

So I'm not sure if I was playing to the right "rules" here, but I had fun trying to stay in the middle of the game world as things fell apart and shifted around, which at least *feels* like the right thing to do. I managed to get to the end of the timer and I'll consider that a success. =) I like the chill music!

Well done completing and submitting your game! I agree with the previous comment about having some sort of message reinforcing the 'proper' way to play the game. Also, the camera was a bit too jittery and close for my liking. Perhaps next time you can try some smoothing to the camera movement (or just leave it fixed at a further distance so the player can see the whole play space)

Thanks @justinmullin for your feedback and for playing! I'm very happy that this experience provided something to you that felt right – even though there was so much destabilising stuff going on (maybe even more so because I wasn't able to put any focus on balancing things out) - and that getting to the end of the timer gave you some sort of orientation. Love that you liked the music!

@parker-nalch Thank you too! Yeah, the camera is definitively one (of the many) thing(s) too balance out more properly next time. While testing (in Unity) I always checked the scene view to see where I was; kind of unfair that I didn't provide that option to the player as well ;) Smoothing this out and/or deciding on some unstable-yet-not-totally-unfair perspective deliberately would be definitively worth the while.

Confusing premise in the beginning but I think I was getting it the second time around. Movement is actually pretty fun, the jiterieness of the cube wouldn't bother me if the camera was smoother. Overall pretty fun but some instructions and clarity on the different regions and how the platforms interact with the player/enemies would make it much easier to get into. Great job!

Didn't really understand what was going on at first but once I got the hang of it it was quite the experience. Great job on the music! It fit the visuals perfectly and the movement really had a great impact. Also congrats on getting some UI to work, I know how much of a struggle that can be especially in Unity.

Thank you very much for playing @recnaps! Playing several times (or at least twice) definitively gives you a better idea of what you can do - should add something that encourages the player to do so there, as well as instructions. And focussing on better camera movement (and angle/distance), is something I want to look at next time, too.

nyubi 2021-10-12 05:54

@sibi Thanks! Yeah, UI is quite something different – still got a long way to go there. Appreciate that you like the music as part of the whole experience very much!

I was a bit confused about what to do, but it was still pretty fun to jump around. The music was a bit loud but otherwise not so bad.

I noticed that the UI is cut off unless the game is full screened. Ive had some issues with this as well, it's usually related to canvas renderer sorting in Unity.

Overall, well done getting a game to work!

Thank you @sarah for playing and your feedback, it is much appreciated!
