I think the game is bugged for me, once the text is over i can just Click and the Power drains but no beam or anything appears.

Great game for 48h, the level editor is a very nice idea

@juin, can you confirm you're clicking and holding? What platform are you on, if so? Interesting issue :)

Nice game, beam mechanic is nice, although I feel the ray were really really slow.

Also I diddn't realise the first play I could move the beam once I had fired it.

Great game. A lot of fun. I keep failing at the 4th level. Good job!

Great game!!

Graphics were a little glitchy for me, but maybe thats just because I'm running this on a potato...

Being able to move the beam while it fires is a nice idea. The aim assist (red line) seems a little awkward. Too long for it to just be a direction indicator and too short to be much of an assist in the later levels. But thats just me nitpicking on details XD.

Otherwise great game for 48h. The sound effects were great and the idea of the game was executed pretty well. Would love to see this as a polished game!

Sweet effects with a solid core gameplay. I loved the mathematical implications of the game.

I did find that the laser was a bit slow going out but I do understand that if it was too fast then it would very quickly get out of hand. Also the controls were a bit floaty and kind of hard to be precise.

Solid bit of fun and a level editor on top is very well done.

Really enjoyed the gameplay, interesting use of theme! My only real issue is the sound. It would have been nice to have an option to get rid of that beam sound. Aside from that, great job!

Nice game! The concept was really unique and interesting, and the design of the levels utilized it quite well! I thought that the art was a little bland, and so was the sound effects although this game is still really great. Also a level editor is an awesome idea! Good job man!

The game was really hard and I was getting a bit frustrated until I realized you could move while firing your laser... whoops! I think it would have been interesting dynamic if you were stationary while the beam fired, if the beam traveled a lot faster. The game is fun though as it is. It's really impressive that you got in a full level editor with a ton of features in for the jam! Well done!

Creative use of the theme. I made it to the 5th or 6th level, I think. The short inclusion of a story at the beginning was nice too. It's an overall entertaining game with nice mechanics.

Really cool concept and a lot of fun to play :) I like being able to move it around as its going, it helps to reposition as you get closer to the target. I left the scientist huddled in the dark corner :(.. oops :P

jimbly 2017-08-03 05:43

I got to the same level a couple times (have to wrap all the way around, with a little room in the middle), and it seemed like I could not target accurately enough... there were two mouse pixels, when I moved between then, it charged for a second, but stopped, so couldn't keep it charging. Probably some better angle, but was frustrating because it felt like I was in the right spot, just could not do fine enough adjustment :(.

Enjoyable game, you had me at "bouncing lasers off of stuff" ;).

sgstair 2017-08-03 07:38

Thanks for all the feedback so far :)

@jimbly There are a variety of solutions to each level, just some orientations take more beam length than others. When in doubt, sweep the beam around and find another route (or, just keep sweeping the beam around, that's fun too ;) )

@baconinvader aw, yeah - the sound effects are not remotely as stellar as I had in mind; I need to tinker more with sound generation before the next LD I think.

@boundtotheearth - I really thought there was no possibility for graphical problems with this platform... Clearly I was wrong. I'm curious about what glitches you are seeing and what kind of system you're running - and I have the sneaking suspicion that updating intel graphics drivers might fix any problem you're seeing.

I got a little problem. The game crashes and I know why. Thankfully you have included source code, you parsed your doubles wrong, unfortunately you have to use: ``` double.Parse("3.5", CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); ``` If your player has other language which isn't using dots as decimal point, you will get format exception. But thanks to the sc I could at least try the game, but you should fix it asap.

sgstair 2017-08-03 08:15

@tomasara413 Ah, I hadn't even considered that when I chose to store my numbers in text, thanks for bringing it to my attention, and sorry for the trouble. I'll add a fixed version soon.

(And, fixed version added)

I loved playing the game ! Also , the Level Editor part was an outstanding idea !

bloodjohn 2017-08-20 06:17

A disturbing sound. Fun game, I appreciate a slow turning gun. It gives a massive laser gun.

Very fun! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqlTLOajPzI
