Great look and feel to this game. The art is great and the gameplay is challenging and fun at the same time. It's good enough that I'm going to come back to it later to try to beat it.

I couldn't beat it but I sure gave it my best a few times. It's a great multitasking game. Trying to focus on everything is a fun challenge and the artwork and transitions are really nice. It's simple in concept, challenging in gameplay, and all around enjoyable. Great use of the theme.
Pros: I really liked the creativity of the game. It's a creative idea and fits the theme well. The controls were simple to understand and the gameplay was straightforward. The graphics certainly aren't groundbreaking but it works well for what the game is and there's no clashing styles of art, so the game looks nice overall.
Cons: After two playthroughs, I wasn't able to figure out what the Max Speed score under the UFO Stats is in reference to. I'm not sure if this is my fault of not. The movement keys occasionally felt a little sticky if I was starting to press them after having recently fired a shot.
Ending thoughts: I played the game twice and playing more than once is a good sign. If I had to rate the game in a few words, I'd say it's simple and enjoyable.
The game is visually appealing and fun to play. The mechanics were intuitive which made it easier to jump right into the fun. One of the more creative takes on the theme that I've seen. Great job on the game.
As of now, this is the best game I've seen in the compo. It's clever, it's fun, the music and sounds are great, and the artwork works perfectly for what it is. Consider me impressed and entertained.
I played 20 levels and had fun each time. The game looks and feels great. It's an unexpected (by me) but fun take on the theme and it was implemented well. The simplicity of the gameplay is what makes it fun, so I think it's great the way it is. No criticisms. Great work!
Really creative game. The art was great and the gameplay was fun. It looks and feels like a game that took much longer than 48 hours to make. Great entry!
lasted 1:10 and gathered 53 batteries on my second playthrough. The sounds are all good and the music is great. The graphics aren't groundbreaking but it all worked well together and made for a pleasant look. The controls and concept were intuitive and I had fun playing overall.
Overall, it's a simple but enjoyable and challenging game. Nice entry!
Thanks for the reviews, everyone.
Edmanbosch, I should have made it visible somehow like I did with the money but the solar panels do slow down the rate of power loss by 1/4th of the default, not including weapons, amount of power loss each. They don't make as big of a difference towards the end because each new weapon uses a bit of power simply by existing and a larger amount while attacking. I hope this comment makes sense lol. Thanks for the suggestion too.
Thanks for the advice; I genuinely appreciate it. I'll be sure to keep it in mind for future projects and this one if I decide to make it into a full game with upgrades and all.
randomphantom, I originally planned to add all sorts of upgrades, different monsters, and nearly entirely customizable placement of weapons but I unfortunately ran out of time. This is the rushed product of what was a much bigger idea to begin with.
That's definitely a bug, one I'll have to get look into eventually. The code is a complete mess atm though and trying to find it sounds like a mission for another time lol. Thanks for the feedback!
justinooncx, there's surely a lot that needed to be added for it to be a complete game where you can theoretically play as long as your fingers are still able to put in the work, but 48 hours is such a short amount of time lol. If I continue development, treadmill upgrades will be included in the long list of other upgrades available. Thank you for your feedback!
dreadloaf, you're not missing anything. Think of it as a metaphor for the inevitability of death lol. In all seriousness, I wanted to add a theoretically infinite number of potential upgrades to all the weapons but ran out of time. Thanks for taking the time to review the game!
Creative use of the theme. I made it to the 5th or 6th level, I think. The short inclusion of a story at the beginning was nice too. It's an overall entertaining game with nice mechanics.
Fun and simple. I couldn't make it past the 3rd level (I could barely make it to the 3rd level lol) but the levels I played were entertaining. I didn't realize I could kill the enemies by jumping on them at first and only figured it out by accident. It certainly came in handy once I realized though. I used what might have been an accident in programming to make it past the 2nd level. What I did was continuously get the closest battery and allow myself to die immediately after. When I respawned, the battery was back and I would repeat the process as quickly as possible. It made it a lot easier to make it to level 3.
Overall, like I said in the beginning, this game is fun and simple. Good use of the theme too.
I got a high score of 7,100 after my second try. I was proud of that score until I saw Neato's 53,000 a few comments above lol.
This is a great entry. It's fun in the way addictive phone apps are fun and it's great for the theme. The only complaint I have is that I personally would have preferred more identifiable features on phones and chargers separating them from similar-looking models.
If I had to choose three words to describe this game, they'd be creative, challenging, and fun.
Like everyone else has already said, the graphics are great. Some background music could have really spiced it up but it's an enjoyable experience as it is. The bullets were a little slow for my taste but that's just my preference. Again though, the look and feel of everything is way beyond what I expected and it's overall entertaining. Great work!
I love the feel and look of the game. It's really suspenseful and gets challenging at just the right pace. This could be turned into a great full game if you continue to build on it. I had a fun time playing overall and can't think of anything to complain about.
I played around 10 times and I failed the dear Leader each time. I think my best score was around 2,500. It's a really fun game and the music is really nice. The theme was implemented well; it stopped me from trying to hide in a corner the whole time.
I'll probably come back to this because I know I can beat it and I want to beat it. Wanting to come back to the game is a good testament to how challenging and fun the game is. Great work!
I finally came back to this game to beat it, and I did after my 4th try. I can die happy now. Once again, great game!
Satisfying to play. I had a bit of lag on web and couldn't extract the files from the .zip windows download. The lag wasn't bad enough to take away from the fun though. Really creative game and it looks great too. Thanks for the entertainment!
Really creative take on the theme. I made it to the 9th question and my "self" power ran out. It's a dark game in an entertaining way. I want to abandon my ungrateful wife and kids in the game. I genuinely had fun playing. Great work!
Great idea. The difficulty progression felt good and the artwork worked really well for the style of game. The powers looked great too, and I liked the method of getting more. If you continue expanding this game, choosing when to use a power as your attack and which power you'd like to use would be a great addition. Good work!
