At least your pipes didn't break! Oh... oh wait...

I look forward to playing your game, I'm so glad you were able to make it after all!!!

jag 2022-10-04 02:15

This is a fantastic game! I love the art the music and the game design! My only issue is that the leaks keep happening too often and I cant patch them up in time. The theme was definitely forcing your hand, but if you made another version with a longer time between cracks this would be a true gem! Really enjoy piecing together pipes

sarah 2022-10-04 02:20

@flyingkaida You can try it now!! :3 I'm so glad I was able to participate after all!!

@jag I actually really wanted to implement rounds where it started off MUCH easier and worked up to new pipes every 10 seconds, but I ran out of time to get that working, so I just made it really hard to start xD I think tomorrow I'll make an updated version to add more gradual difficulty to make it more fun to actually play! Thanks for trying it!

2022-10-04 02:39

Especially given your circumstances, this game is really well done! Plays smooth and looks nice. The leaks are definitely stressful and difficult to patch in time, but otherwise solid game, good job!

arkinrev 2022-10-04 02:47

A game jam during a hurricane is sort of hard mode. Sometimes those pipe pieces are frustratingly wrong in a good way. Nice entry!

human-writes-code 2022-10-04 07:03

Love the idea. The sound, art style and general mechanics were great! The only problem I had is that it is brutally hard (or I'm just awful at games, which is brutally confronting for me!) The UI could have done with some improvement but aside from that, this is a great entry. Good job!

mrmaico 2022-10-04 13:32

Game jam during a hurricane? I hope you all are safe! Really enjoyed the game. The art gave me some eerie feeling and I liked the sound. With only a trackpad right now, it's quite difficult to finish the level.

triangletriangle 2022-10-04 13:37

Good work! The game looks great, the art and music are really nice. As you and others said, it's a bit too difficult to be satisfying. So it is with jam games! It's hard to make everything AND balance the gameplay in a weekend :). Good job completing something despite your circumstances <3

sterco-raro 2022-10-04 13:39

I realized just now that we did almost the same game XD except that yours is way better (and way less broken) than ours. A really good entry! A bit hard for me too but maybe I should just play more

angrybeard 2022-10-04 13:40

very fun concept. i also have to say that it is brutaly hard except one time where i got very lucky and finished it in like 5 seconds :D

steamdr4gon 2022-10-04 13:42

A nice looking game and the sound design fits well. The game itself is very fun but very hectic. Overall nice entry, good job

fever 2022-10-04 13:45

This is super fun but SO difficult! I just wish I had more time to complete my master plans. Definitely a game with a lot of potential for fun

thatzniko 2022-10-04 14:07

The game is really funny!

jhax 2022-10-04 14:14

You weren't kidding when you said it was hard XD

Definitely a tricky one, but still very fun! A really cool take on pipe games in a way that uses the theme well.

Nice one!

waterfowler 2022-10-04 14:18

Super difficult to get more than one or two pipes done and it all depends quite a bit on RNGJesus, but the game is otherwise well done and the sound effects and music while not created by you at least fit the mood and game very well. The graphics are good too.

I do wish there were some less difficult levels and more sense of progression as opposed to being forced to just franticly trying to lay pipe as soon as the game starts :)

christopher-hedge 2022-10-04 14:46

This game's got promise! I love making pipelines and connecting water lines up, there is something satisfying in it. 10/10 on visuals and layout!

The only issue I have is difficulty. The new leak every 10 seconds, in conjunction with the speed of the water and the time it takes to lose the game once there is a leak, makes it impossible to keep up using random pipe options. The game would last a lot longer if certain pipe shapes were more available. I cannot place pipe fast enough to advance more than 30 seconds. Besides that I think this is a really solid game! Great Job

faust-mi 2022-10-04 14:54

10 wet paws out of 10. Cool mechanics of filling with water and using the theme. Great job!

theekinnox 2022-10-04 15:19

I love the art and it's so fun but boy is it hard! It's clearly a game I could play for hours though, good job!

mralcoro 2022-10-04 16:13

Really hard indeed! But pretty fun to try and stop the leaks as well as you can while you panic.

eugenik 2022-10-04 20:20

Ok, this is impressive! Great job!.

thanks4allthefish 2022-10-04 20:53

Hi @sarah I really appreciate your effort to still attending the game jam even during the hurricane. I like the overall idea of this game! The random leaking of pipes is hard lol. One thing I noticed is that it is hard to find out when would be game over. I think it would be great to add an indicator to show that. Nice game!

vphyre 2022-10-04 21:59

Game with a very interesting concept! It's cool the challenge of racing against time to assemble the pipes, and prevent the water from falling on the floor. Although I believe I wasn't able to get very far in the game hahaha.

The graphics are simple and beautiful, and the gameplay is cool. Good job!

dae-udain 2022-10-04 22:40

I actually really liked this one! Had some trouble at first, but on my third game the drain spawned 2 blocks away from my starting pipe, and I placed two corner pieces and instantly won. I replayed it a bunch after, and it's got some interesting depth. About the only thing I wish it had was hotkeys so I can quickly select the 4 pipes without having to scroll my mouse to the side. I otherwise wouldn't change a whole lot, it's pretty fun as is. Great job!

cobrajs 2022-10-04 22:56

Looks great and the mechanics are great, but it's definitely not balanced properly! Everything descends into chaos once the second pipe pops up. I also didn't see anything notifying how I was doing, like I know my pipes were all leaking, but how much leaking is too much leaking haha! Nice work overall though!

vidarn 2022-10-05 13:46

Fun, well made, good looking but _very_ difficult, hehe  I love these kinds of pipe games, and I really enjoyed this one, even though I had trouble getting anywhere. I think the graphics and music are great and complement each other really well. As other have said, with a more gradual difficulty curve this would be fantastic.

asue 2022-10-05 15:00

I like the concept of the game! The atmosphere is a bit oppressive with the scary music but it fits well with the title of the game

actuallythemoon 2022-10-05 23:41

Feels very difficult to actually survive for long in the game, but maybe i'm just bad at it xD Compelling mechanics though. Cool game and concept.

rafale25 2022-10-06 00:24

Very good !! But the difficulty is greatly impacted by the randomness which makes it sometimes very easy and other time hardly doable. Good job !

chase-of-bass 2022-10-06 06:46

The music fits the title really well -so does the difficulty curve! xD Really fun tho -love pipe dreams and can't believe you guys did this during a hurricane! :o Glad you're all okay and managed to get to jam a cool game too! Awesome work!

etrealjunior 2022-10-06 14:57

Congratulations, I loved your game, these puzzles just remind me how slow I am lol, it was very compatible with the theme of the jam, the team presented an excellent work, thank you for the honor of being able to know more of your work, if possible give me feedback on my game I will be very happy, it helps me to improve my work, a big hug to all.

mdotedot 2022-10-06 15:05

clever game. Unforatunaely the grabbing doesn't work a lot. But I like the idea!!! Graphics are nice!

euler-moises 2022-10-06 18:03

I remembered this game on old PCs. I played a lot!

But this one is really hard! Administer two leaks at the same time only Super Mario.

Congratulations on the work!

flyingkaida 2022-10-07 15:39

Great game! Super hard, but super fun! And omg the graphics were so smooth! It's hard to believe you lost 2/3s of the days with how polished it is! Great job!

sarah 2022-10-09 17:10

THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING OUR GAME AND LEAVING AMAZING FEEDBACK, sorry it took me so long to get back to you all <3 I will get to most of your games sometime this week, although I know my teammates have been out rating games as well :) Due to the hurricane and all the damages to our house, I've had a really busy week and just haven't had as much time as I wanted for playing LD games, but I WILL DEFINITELY GET TO THEM ALL :3

@sam-the-man I was really happy with the outcome given all the time and power constraints across the weekend haha. The stress of the leaks ended up matching the stress I was feeling in real life, as my roof had blown off and one of our ceilings caved in and leaked A LOT!

@arkinrev It was definitely the most difficult circumstances i've ever had for a game jam! We only had one laptop and one monitor to use. Luckily our artist lived in another country and wasn't affected by the hurricane!

@human-writes-code I'm sure you are amazing at games!! It is indeed, INCREDIBLY difficult haha. I unfortunately was so tired and exhausted from all the things going on, that I didn't really play test it to see the true difficulty. After placing pipes all weekend myself, I forgot that others would need more time xD

@mrmaico The hurricane happened the weekend before the jam, but our power was out for 10 days! It came back on the day of submissions, mid day on Monday. Luckily, everyone was okay but it was hurricane Fiona, and it hit really hard unfortunately. I can see how a trackpad would make this really difficult, I had actually hoped to get some keyboard shortcuts in for grabbing a piece and placing it and what not, but I never got a chance haha.

@triangletriangle The art was amazing, I don't usually work on a team but this time given that there was only one laptop in our house (I live with frozenfire) and so we worrked together! But the perk of this meant that I also got to work with our artist friend, who usually just works with frozenfire. When it came to balancing, I was just so tired when I submitted that I completely forgot to do it xD So I understand that it's insanely hard to beat haha, but it can still be really satisfying at times when its longer between new pipes.

@sterco-raro We did basically make the same game!! Great idea haha, but your game was definitely a tad more broken, but also easier xD Ours was unintentionally way too difficult haha.

@angrybeard The RNG wasnt exactly as I had wanted it to turn out. I wanted to check and make sure the drain was a reasonable distance from the starting pipe (the first at least) but I had some issues with the pathfinding it took me about 2 hours longer than I wanted and I had to cut that part out sadly. So sometimes its SUPER easy to beat haha

@fever When I was making it and testing it, I had the pipes coming a lot slower and it's really satisfying to make a longer connected pipe. So I wish I had been able to get that to translate better to the final version, but I actually might make a better, post jam version because we had a lot of fun playing it :)

@steamdr4gon @thatzniko @eugenik thanks for playing :3

@jhax I defintely wasn't kidding haha, it didn't feel as difficult for me because I spent all weekend playing it and testing it so I didn't mean for it to be such a mean game at times xD But our house was also leaking from the hurricane and so the theming of the game really hit home for me :P

@waterfowler My actual game idea was that there would be rounds, and each round would get progressively more difficult. Except I focused on the gameplay and everything else that wasn't the rounds, and by the time I got to the end I just didn't have enough time. We only had probaly 50-60% of the time we normally would have due to power constraints, but I really want to make another version that properly implements all that. The art was done by our amazing artist and the sounds managed to fit in perfectly (:

sarah 2022-10-09 17:22

(IM GONNA SAY THIS PART AGAIN FOR EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T GET @'D the first time) THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING OUR GAME AND LEAVING AMAZING FEEDBACK, sorry it took me so long to get back to you all <3 I will get to most of your games sometime this week, although I know my teammates have been out rating games as well :) Due to the hurricane and all the damages to our house, I’ve had a really busy week and just haven’t had as much time as I wanted for playing LD games, but I WILL DEFINITELY GET TO THEM ALL :3

@christopher-hedge Initially it was going to be a bit easier leaking wise, and there weren't supposed to be so many. My intention was that if a pipe was connected to the drain, its leaks wouldn't matter or something. But I ran into some bugs in my pathfinding due to exhaustion and I ended up switching it so that every pipe had to be 100% complete. But since that wasn't my original idea, we didn't have the art for end caps for the pipes or something like that and it was too late for new art sadly!

@faust-mi the water filling mechanic is legit one of my favourite parts of the game! It was something I wanted to try and kind of the basis for the whole game idea :)

@theekinnox I also feel like I could play it a long time! And I actually started work on remaking it better, so that it has less bugs and the actual rounds like I wanted to implement!

@mralcoro The panic of the game is real, and honestly depending on the RNG it can be super fun although I know sometimes the RNG makes it insanely difficult.

@thanks4allthefish The hurricane happened the weekend before the jam and left us without power for almost 10 days! We didn't have power until the submission monday, and we had to use a generator on Saturday and Sunday haha. But it was worth it! If I had of had the full weekend to work on it, I think I could have fully completed my idea. However, I was running out of time when it came to the very end and making an end game/end screen was rushed in the final hour haha, but at least it HAD an ending xD I was worried we wouldn't get it in.

@vphyre Its really difficult to play xD But the art is amazing :3

@dae-udain The RNG can really make or break the game! I had wanted to get a little more control over the distance between the drain and first starting pipe, but I ran into some issues when I got to that part, and then I ran out of time after fixing the bugs haha. One of my very first ideas for the game was also to have some keyboard shortcuts to help with everything, but I never got a chance to get that in. Maybe in the next version :)

@cobrajs I didn't actually spend any time balancing it at all, because by the time I finished making it work, my brain was so tired I forgot xD And I didn't truly realize how difficult it was after playing it myself straight for two days. However I meant to have a bar over the leaks to show their progress and I entirely forgot xD

@vidarn I definitely wanted to have a round system and my actual idea was to see how many rounds you could get through, like an endless mode but I never got a chance to truly get the rounds implemented so I had to cut it down to just a single repeatable level haha.

@asue the game definitely lives up to its name xD

@actuallythemoon No I'm sure you were amazing at it! It's just really difficult xD But at least it looked amazing :P

@rafale25 I had intentions to fix the RNG a bit and make the distance between the starting pipe and the drain more reasonable, but timing said not today xD

@chase-of-bass I'm SO glad everyone is okay! The hurricane actually hit us the week before and left us without power for 10 days! It came back on submission day and I had power for the final 8 hours of the jam! But i'm solidly impressed with my team for all the work (:

@etrealjunior Thanks for playing! I'll definitely play your game before the time is up (: I hope to soon make a post jam version that includes an actual puzzle/story mode!

sarah 2022-10-09 17:24

(IM GONNA SAY THIS PART AGAIN FOR EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T GET @'D the first time OR THE SECOND TIME) THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING OUR GAME AND LEAVING AMAZING FEEDBACK, sorry it took me so long to get back to you all <3 I will get to most of your games sometime this week, although I know my teammates have been out rating games as well :) Due to the hurricane and all the damages to our house, I’ve had a really busy week and just haven’t had as much time as I wanted for playing LD games, but I WILL DEFINITELY GET TO THEM ALL :3

@mdotedot That was a bug I never actually encountered myself! It wasn't until after it got submitted that it was uncovered, and I won't lie... I haven't been able to figure out why it's broken haha.

@euler-moises I was so inspired by the old pipe dream and I wanted to take that and mash it with the chaos of the theme and thus we created the most difficult game ever xD

@flyingkaida I'm SO IMPRESSED with how the game turned out based on how little time we actually got to work on it. Especially given that I was the only one coding, due to only having one laptop xD

sarah 2022-10-09 17:27

ALSO, A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO OUR ARTIST: @underlig THANKS FOR MAKING BEAUTIFUL ART FOR OUR GAME (:

And another HUGE SHOUTOUT TO @frozenfire92 for helping me debug and make food while the power was out. Also for letting me use the only laptop that had power (:

GREAT JOB TEAM <3

thesmellofoxygen 2022-10-21 02:00

Very difficult! The junction pipes were definitely worse than the single pipes and often crowded out my other options. I liked the visuals, sounds, and water flow. Everything felt clicky and responsive. I would have played longer, especially if the junction pipes were weighted to show up less frequently.

stephen-kyranakis 2022-10-21 03:28

I like the frantic take on the classic pipe-junction puzzle. Difficulty-wise, I definitely felt at the mercy of RNG; sometimes it was very easy and other times it seemed impossible to win. Nice work with the visuals and atmosphere!

aggrathon 2022-10-21 07:25

Nice puzzle game. I only wish it was a bit longer, so that you really had to deal with multiple input pipes (now it felt mostly like a race to connect the two initial ones).

unidaystudio 2022-10-21 13:49

Great entry! I liked the game and the pixxel art graphics! Well done!

sarah 2022-10-22 13:42

@thesmellofoxygen I had thought about weighting the pieces but I didn't think of it until too late sadly. But I agree that it would have made it a bit more playable :)

@stephen-kyranakis That was another thing that was never intended to be that way, my plan all along was to randomize the drain but have it be based on the starting pipe positions. But I kinda forgot about that until the end and then it was just too late haha

@aggrathon My real game idea was to have levels and each one get progresssively more difficult but I ran into some bugs resetting things and so in the last 20 minutes of the jam, I just turned it into a single level and although it wasn't what I wanted, I'm still happy with how it turned out :)

@unidaystudio Our artist did an amazing job! I don't normally have an artist, so I'm still amazed haha

Thanks for playing!!
