The lore was definitely my favorite part 😂!
Nice level design and progression. I liked that a lot of things were happening all the time and that there was a story to follow. Kept it interesting until the end.
Hey, what a great story! I loved the aesthetics, the backstory and the music. I sadly didn't manage to finish the game, as my jump action stopped working after I interacted with the Koopa (turtle guy?) and I also did not get it back after I changed back. Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun playing. This is a super polished entry, you can be proud - now and 10 years ago!
What a trip xD I didnt know how to proceed in the koopa level sadly! I really wanted to know what I'd need the holy plunger for!

Haha, this idea is so cool (do not know your old submission). Totally love the idea of playing the enemies of Mario. Very trippy atmosphere and music. Might be a little bit short but you ran out of time, I know. Also liked the idea of switching skills by using the other enemies.
There might be a bug in the last level. First time I tried, i think bullet bill was missing to get through the last bricks. Second time, it was there. But maybe I just missed it the first time...
What a really cool idea and extremely fun game! ^^ Arrow keys as an alternative to WASD would have been nice, but this didn't detract from the fun of the game. The idea of using the enemies' characteristics is great! Music, graphics, humor — everything is really nice. I had a lot of fun :)
Love what you did with altering the super mario music. Seems like a decent amount of time and effort must have gone into that, and it paid off. The lore was a bit dense - almost as much reading as gameplay. Might have been better to trim that down or spread it out? And the visuals of the level design were a bit hard to follow. It was a guessing game to know which objects were solid. Those critiques aside, it's a good gameplay concept, and satisfying to take on other powers. You got a lot done! Congrats and great job.
Love the slightly trippy visuals and music using Mario assets! The level design is pretty wild!
Unfair, this was guaranteed to suck me in with the premise and then it delivered, I'm very upset by this manipulation. Too bad about that final boss battle, I got really excited there for a minute -- finish it!

I love that you made a sequal, thats the spirit of game jamming haha! 32 was my first ever ludum dare, so that's such a call back! I love how you turned things around and get to play as the enemy, super fun! Great job!
