Liked the idea and look, but sometimes the cakes became immovable and I managed to score one point by pushing the cake to the side of table where the cat wasn't.
Very hard, both because the cat responds quickly and because the isometric view is hard to control with arrow keys. The graphics are very nice and colorful, and it's probably the best song I've heard so far. Completely misses the theme unfortunately.
Like another commenter said, I'm not too sure how this one fit the theme, but it is optional I suppose! That being said, love the graphics and feel of the game. It was tough though!
I tried the Cake Grid Fix, but the collisions got a bit janky after I grouped most of the cake slices together to push them all at once. If there's a trick as to when or why the cat attacks(aside from being close to the edge) I couldn't tell.
I liked the graphics, but the controls felt janky as the camera angle was isometric but the grid movement was not aligned with the cameras direction. Nice!
I felt like I was doing something wrong when I pushed the cake down, then I got smashed by a cat paw x)

Very cute, really love the character design and the music. If this cat were anything like my cat she would be tossing all the food onto the flood before the mouse even had a chance lol. I think if the cat's range were telegraphed in some way that would solve a lot of the difficulty complaints people have. Great submission, glad I played!
Art is very good! That cat has some long arms! I got whacked when he was on the other side of the table!
I think the gameplay has to be balanced a little bit. It is too hard initially, but then becomes too easy once you know to just go slow.
I love the cat, despite the fact that your trying to feed him cake and hes punishing you for this!
Cute graphics! I found that if I lined up all the cakes and pushed from the back, I could easily score points without any danger from the cats. I also noticed that the big yellow cakes wouldn't disappear when I pushed them off the table. I think a fun addition would be to make holes in the table or something so that the cat could get to you from anywhere. Maybe there could also be some power-ups or obstacles that could help you avoid the cat.
As others have said the art is great. It did seem hard initially but lining all the cakes up and pushing them all off the edge together made it really easy. The isometric perspective made it hard to tell exactly what tile a cake was on though, and I would frequently miss them or misalign a row of them.
Adorable :) Graphics and music were fantastic. Was confused by the sfx when I pushed something off the table. Thought I might have been doing something incorrect, so I tried to push the cake at a spot where the cat wasn't but got the same sound. Saw the points went up though, so I figured it out :)
Managed to get all but one that stayed floating in the air. It looks like be the sixth cake from the cat and closest to camera that is off grid, which I'm guessing is causing it not to fall. (In the Grid Fix game btw).
I think it would be interesting to see something on the table to force the player to balance getting cakes to their friend and agitating the cat. Perhaps the holes like @shimmerscale mentioned or another mouse that the player can chase off?

The gameplay is fun, but becomes way too easy once you know what you are doing. The graphics are great for a Compo submission, and the music is wonderful too; Overall great entry! Well done!
Really cute pixel art and vibe! The controls were a little difficult for me but I got used to them! Nice work :)
@0xwavy / @falkreon / @derpygamer2142 - If I'd not run out of time it'd make more sense - he's harvesting cake, to pass to ( a currently unseen ) second rat on the floor. I was going to to a total / animation at the end wih the rats 'harvest' on the win screen. :p
@frogtownmatt - Good idea, maybe a shadow/outline of where the paw could land ( it's a 2x3 tile area )
@cappa-games - I ran out of time on the cat's movement, he just instantly aligns with the rat if you move too fast, too long. :D
@shimmerscale - Yeah - I ran out of time - it was a stupud bug where it checked absolute position of cake to detect if cake was over edge, which failed about 20% of the time :D
Good idea to have more obstacles, I had planned on having new cakes / food landing from other sides of table ( as it's a party ) and then the cat is the goal keeper blocking you from delivering food to your other rat friend in the hole..

Kinda mean that the cat is killing us when we are feeding him cake! I also found out that if you tap the keys instead of holding them the cat would reset and you could get a ton of cake. Graphics are nice, they have a cool retro theme. Nice entry.
@tukisboolukis - I ran out of time, this guy is the one supposed to be getting the cake :smiley:

graphics stand out as a compo game! sad this is your third idea and seems you don't have enough time to implement more feature for it, but it is still a solid little game and feel completed!
I really like this idea, but one thing, maybe i am not used to the isometric controls, but it just felt really weird to control, like my brain thought "w" should make the character go left, and "s" go right, and then right and left for up and down
Liked the idea, novel take on the theme, enjoyed the music and the art was pretty cute too, gameplay is a little janky, mainly I just wasn't clear when I was at risk of the cat or not. Good effort.
The graphics and audio were great - I found the cat to be a little scary looking :D Its a shame the mouse doesn't always face the direction you were previously moving in, because his face looks good too, but you always see just the behind. The game wasn't too difficult, but then sometimes you'd get killed without much time to react (that I could noticed) - the hand seemed to suddenly jump 'down' the screen when it otherwise didn't look like it aligned.
But then, for a compo submission, its a very solid entry - great work!

I love the cuteness and atmosphere. hard to get past the cat but i enjoyed the challenge. I like the 8 bit look and color scheme. Cakes look delicious
Graphics and audio are great! It was a little unclear when I was in danger of getting eaten by the cat, and I found the isometric controls to be a bit difficult (I keep expecting 'up' to be northwest, not sure why.) Love the concept here though and for a more limited-time compo project it's quite good!

Interesting concept! The art is really cute, and it sounds nice as well. I did have a bit of difficulty with movin g in the correct directions though, overall well done!
