Enjoyable way of summoning, almost helldivers esc when it becomes frantic and you're trying to put in the correct patterns. Loved the art style as well.
@chapmanofpixels Thanks for your feedback! Our artist tried very hard :)
interesting mechanic and quite enjoyable, good job
I enjoyed it a lot, the summoning theme really there. Art was super nice and the music was fine.
Love the way you summon things! Also dig the art style!
The art style is amazing! I love the mechanic of summoning in this game. It gives an extra challenge :)
I pretty much just spam whatever is the most powerful on that day. Needs a bit rebalance I think. Some summons got stuck at the trunk. Overall quite fun and on point :D
Great art style, well polished and gameplay is immediately clear. Well done! Hope you had fun making this.
Nice concept. The best strategy is a little too much just spamming invocations in your base. I would have love to use more powers or feel the need to explore the island. Sometimes the invocation panel is not clickable for no reason, this is a little frustrating. Overall, the game works and is enjoyable.
Amazing art and the overall Slavic setting. Controls are a bit tricky.
@icaka Thanks for playing our game! :)
@ecenizo Thanks for your comment! I still listen to this music, it turned out very cheerful :)
@rokevicius Thank you very much for your comment! Very nice :)
I really like the summoning style, pretty fun and can get intense when dealing with too much enemies, pretty fun game, awesome job
@zablas Thank you! Our artist is tired, but she is very happy :)
@skitefall Nice feedback! We will make a good balance, but a little later :)
@mephistase Thank you! Yes, we didn’t have time to scroll the map, but your comments are on point :)
@sargonius Thank you very much for playing our game! :)
@slagos Thank you! We tried to maintain a balance :)
Very nice tower defense game with an interesting summoning mechanic. So cool that your game has a progression and so many creatures to summon. Art style is bright and attractive.
I unlocked demons and then played another few days, but nothing more unlocked. So I thought this is the end) Let me know if it is not. Maybe I missed something.
I guess the best tactic to survive is just run around the tree and summon creatures non stop =) It would be cool to have a little more balance, but I understand how hard it is to calculate and customize balance in such a short time.
Anyway, it's a very cool game. Congratulations on the completion of the jam!
комбайн
@hardytryer Yes, the running around the tree tactic really works. We would like the player to run further. You need to edit the balance.
Thank you for playing our game.
For some reason, I didn't really manage to do summons since the gems didn't register my mouse clicks :( But it looks cool, especially the monsters you summon. Good job!
Hopping wolf is my mood.
It was a fun play and the art is nice! Good job!
Nice execution !
Good looking and nice gameplay.
Sometime it is hard to grab the line start… I don't think the complexity of drawing with the mouse was the core gameplay. I finish by only focus on drawing as fast as I can.
And my creatures end stucked in the oak roots… Some diversity in spell (more based on position) could enforce the tower defense like feeling.
Anyway, I enjoyed playing it.
I thought the game was going to be easy, but I was quickly proven wrong :) Still, I kinda feel like spamming a ton of smaller things can sometimes be better than summoning something big. It's hard to keep up of course, but they're cheap and can be in a lot of places at once, which does help.
Bouncy wolf is my spirit animal.
Incredible work in the time allocated, and the art is absolutely gorgeous. Could do with a little gameplay balancing but that is totally understandable . Very nice job guys!
Quite a solid submission, it's really fun to play and has a good mechanics. It has decent balance. However, the lack of sounds and clear feedback on some important actions and events makes it hard to play and control the situation. Anyway, great job and congratulation with the submission.
Very good looking, great sound too. The gameplay starts off a bit too easy for me, I was able to spam wolves constantly in the early levels and never once felt like I was in danger at all. Maybe just a bit of tweaking needed there but otherwise it's cool!
This is a very creative approach to gameplay! I did have the same issue as some others where my mouse clicks weren't registering. I couldn't quite figure out what the zombie hand spawn summon does. Great work on the graphics/imagery and overall concept.
Good game. Had a lot of fun! I conjured a forest of hands and am glad xD
@sniffbl4 Yep, the forest of hands is a killer tactic :D
@binaryspark, the bouncy wolf is the favorite of our whole team :) Thanks for the feedback!
I liked the artstyle a lot. Took me a little bit to really understand what I was supposed to do. But once I figured that out, I had fun playing.
Cool game, I liked it!
Very cool. Really polished for a jam game too! Took me a minute to figure out the summoning mechanic, but pretty fun gameplay once I got the hang of it. Really good art - reminds me of "mobile game style" (and I mean that in the best way possible)! Great job!
great jam game. Felt like a real game xD I just put lots of things all over the place before they took out my precious oak. They must have really wanted my tree!
very cute and funny game,love the game art so much ,wish for more content of this game to play
Приятная графика. Особенно понравилась музыка. Музыка вообще кайф)
@minjutin Yes, there is a small problem with fixing summoning points, we will try to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!
@misoukun We planned to do more, but we barely met the deadline, reducing the number of summoned creatures to a minimum. Perhaps we'll add them later. Thanks for your feedback!
@6knowledge Thanks for the comment!
@alkemiste Thank you!
@chaoticspear Thanks for you feedback, we will try to improve the game later!
@tricky-fat-cat Thanks for your feedback! There were no sounds at all or there was not enough SFX in the game?
@deruitda Thanks for your feedback!
@kidabra Thank you for your feedback! Zombie's hands works as stationary traps, preventing people from getting to the oak :)
It was hard to tell how well I was doing. Got bored after day 3 because I was just repeatedly surrounding the tree with hands and then summoning the most powerful creature as frequently as I could. Never felt any jeopardy or strategy aspect. That said, lovely graphics, liked the inovative interface, as a way of splitting player attention between moving and summoning.
@crygos Thank you for playing our game!
@the4thcircle Thanks for the feedback! We'll think about balancing the game so that zombie's hands aren't such a useful things :D
@kirass Thank you!
@roman-dubrovin спасибо! Наш композитор очень старался, получилась задорная мелодия со славянскими мотивами :)
@saintchristopher777 Thanks for playing our game!
@commanderstitch Thanks for the comment! These people are real rebels with pitchforks :D
@olddog Thanks! We had to give up a lot of content, but we have thoughts to continue working on this game :)
@roman-dubrovin Спасибо за приятный комментарий!
Good game! It really looks great. But I know a simple way to protect your nest. Just keep spawning chip units and you will win. However It's good job!
Fun concept and nice take on the theme. The only thing I would say is the movement feels a bit off with the player's inertia, feels like he's walking on ice
A very interesting game with a very innovative way of summoning. Good job!
@katamary Yes, these traps make life easier. Thanks for playing our game! :)
@thomasvenner We'll think about how to fix this. Thanks for your feedback!
I think this is my highest rating yet! Cute and unique artwork, the music slaps but most of all this is the most satisfying rune drawing mechanic I've played - easy to draw, memorable and responsive. I found it engaging to spam the spells :)
@rubentl Thanks for the comment!
@aaron-hart Thanks, this is truly inspiring! :)
Great game, looks and plays really well. My only issue was that I found myself staring mostly just at the summon panel and repeating the most complicated pattern. It wasn't clear to me what the benefits were to each symbol (I assumed harder = better).
Very cute game, i really like visual of the game. Gameplay is interesting and easy to understand. Also music in the game is perfectly fit:) great job!
@matt-ravenhall The most complex summoning is not always the best solution, here you can choose the right balance for yourself from simple and cheap summons with more complex ones that spend more mana. Thanks for playing our game!
@anaastaska Thank you very much for your nice feedback!
Hey, cool entry! I loved the art - really consistent aesthetic and lovely little animations. It's great you guys managed to get a bit of a difficulty curve in there to make for a play experience that built up slowly - was exciting seeing what new summon I was going to get next! Gameplay felt nicely balanced and built up in difficulty at a healthy rate.
The OST was great - I loved the menu theme in particular. One of the great tragedies of making music for game jams is lovingly crafting a menu theme that the average player will spend about 10 seconds listening to - but I let it loop and I loved it :') I loved the combination of classical sounds and electronic percussion throughout - good stuff @wandering-composer !
Some constructive criticism - * A few more SFX would have been great (just some combat sounds etc, a couple of hits) * I admit when I booted it up I didn't actually know what to do at first - didn't notice the (admittedly obvious) summoning menu popout until I closed the game and looked at the GIF there. Probably my fault * Would love to see even more variation in the summons - I liked that the first one was stationary, which made it appealing to use as a counterpoint with my other ones. Other than that (as far as I got) it seemed just about mana vs power after that - so some more specific behaviours would be amazing!
Well done guys, super solid entry.
That's a fun summon mechanic! It reminds me of casting spells in black & white! That's actually what I tried to do for a bit before I realize the gems had a hitbox to go through. I did have some collision issues with them a bit, but once I got used to that I was spawning all the monsters! Fun entry with some great art!
@lachlan-james Thank you so much for your constructive criticism! It's very valuable for us! And I will definitely play your game, I'm interested in it :)
cool game, looks kinda like a mobile fake ad game, but actually good!
Крутецкая игра, так держать! Не понятно только почему крабы :D
@pringlae Контент с объяснением пришлось сократить в угоду игровому циклу, но крабы остались :D Спасибо, что поиграли в нашу игру!
@spookyrobloxman999 Thanks for the comment!
@ursagames There is a small bug with gems, we will try to fix it in the future. Thanks for your feedback!
The game's graphics are pleasant and high-quality, in keeping with the atmosphere. There is a minimum difficulty level, but it gives you time to get the hang of the game. Mainly the summoning system, but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. I find it well balanced, just that some of my allies summoned too close to a tree, rock or other, get stuck. I congratulate you!
Impressive work! excellent art!
A truly original tower defense game. Graphically well done and with excellent mechanics that perfectly match the theme of the jam! Many compliments to everyone.
Really cool game! Just sometimes movement was little bit "too heavy" for me
Very good games and good concept!
GG to you!
Cool game, graphics look good. I felt the summoning was a little tedious with a mouse, but this could be really fun on mobile.
I like the music and the arts are cool, the gameplay is nice, promising gmae :)
The mechanics are simple but well-designed, the summoning is intuitive, and the visuals are solid. I would have appreciated a slightly wider color palette to help differentiate the villagers from the background. The music and SFX were also quiet despite having my volume on my rig pretty high.
Good job! I had fun. :)
@k-toll We will fix the jams so that no one on our island stumbles :D Thank you for playing our game!
@alessandro2024 Thank you! :)
@nuanda79 Thank you, very nice! :)
@dywanix Thank you for your feedback! :)
@tritax711 Thank you very much! :)
@mollusk We're planning to make summoning creatures more challenging and fun, so thank you for your feedback! :)
@jean-francois Thank you, we are pleased to receive your feedback! :)
@nrankin13 Thanks for the tips, we will try to make the game better! :)
Nice game, loved the art and music. Great gesture-based mechanics. Excellent work!
Using Slavic mythology pleased me, excellent graphic style, and exploration of the summoning theme. I didn't quite understand what should stop me from spamming the best units, but it seems easily fixable in the future by adding different types of enemies. Great job, guys!
I like the game but we need feedback when we take damage because we don't always see it
@dimesto52 thanks for the advice! We will definitely think about how to give feedback when enemies take damage. And we will give feedback when a player takes damage.
I love the number of glyph-related games in this jam! This is a nice take on the theme, although it feels too indirect: nothing I do seems to affect the world in a meaningful way or present me with interesting decisions. I mostly just spam the spells and eventually die because they don't do what I want them to.
(But maybe I was just bad at it!)
The art is pretty nice, the groots attacking enemies with laser eyes is an unexpected touch, and of course the glyph drawing mechanic is nice, woul be even nicer after some UI polish to increase responsiveness.
Great job!
@digital-bacon Thanks for playing our game!
@konstantinreed We'll work through the feedback to make tree damage clearer. Thanks for the feedback!
@13x666 The game needs a lot of improvements, including polishing the UI. Thanks for your feedback!
I managed to save the oak from pitchfork on the second try! It was fun and engaging, constant action! But the way I did it shows there is some issue with the balance. I found out, that just spamming wolves and walking around the tree is the easiest way to win with no damage to the oak itself. On first try I tried to summon more expensive creatures, and while they seem powerful, the mana cost is too great and because they are bigger, they seem to get stuck more often (especially next to the oak), while many wolves can quickly cover whole area and eliminate enemies before they will even show up.
Ideally there would be different types of enemies that are weak against one type of summons, and strong against other, so you don't do what I did, but of course I realize that is another heavy load of work for 72h jam.
Rune/Glyph drawing was very fun, despite me repeating one spell over and over.
Overall very enjoyable submission. If you plan on finishing it up, is there a way to "follow" you somewhere?
@haayaargh thanks for the feedback! Yes, we have also paid attention to this, and we are preparing an update that should solve this problem in gameplay. We plan to make it possible for the player to put pentagrams on the ground, from which certain creatures will be regularly produced. It will be the type of buildings that will produce units. What do you think about it? :)
Pretty solid tower defense.
Would be nice to understand the difference between summons and the initial hand structure
@firellon The initial hand structure creates a trap that is tied to a specific location. But sometimes they manage to run :D Thanks for playing our game!
Such a cute game! The style reminds me of those mobile games like candy crush (in a good way) and I can see this becoming something like that at some point! I'ts a shame you ran out of time to implement all the concepts I saw you posted a while ago. But I hope you continue working on the game after the Jam :) Absolutely love the concept you went for (are you all slavic or is there another reason you picked slavic mythology?) and the drawings are super cute and well made! The game is too easy I admit, needed some better balancing, and I couldn't develop a strategy because it felt like anything I did was fine, so yea some more "punishing" mechanics would be cool. I like that you get mana back from killing enemies, it's a nice reward. At some point some pits of hands started walking, and I think some units got stuck in the tree because they stopped moving. It's kind of a shame that the units seem to spawn in a random direction, I'd preffer if they spawned directly on top of Koschei, or maybe in the direction he's facing so you could get more control of them. Other than that it's a great entry! Congratulations to all of you ^^
@mateusboga, thanks for the detailed feedback! Yes, we will definitely take it into account, and we already are 😅 in the "post-jam" version 🙂
Really nice entry! The graphics were almost too pretty to believe it's a jam game! :smile: As others have wrote, some minor tuning of the mechanics might be nice; now I felt like I could stand in front of the tree and just spam the summon commands as fast as I could — but this definitely got harder later in the game, as I ran out of mana and had to think about where to summon my defenders more closely.
Anyway, great effort!
Finally I got to play this one, too. Nice nice nice. :D I love those "bad" faces, the entire vibe. And the game is beautiful. xD And the theme is obviously **spot on** (with the summoning element in place). About the song... I feel the intro was in some actual song I liked XD .. very relaxing.
On the feedback part, yep, the game is not much of a challenge, as others mentioned above. Sometimes, just sometimes, I'd loved to see more of the screen at once, but that's about it. Since the experience is similar to mine (in its core concept), I would say that what feedback people gave for my one would also apply to this one / maybe a fast-forward would make the action more... action-y (when there is still time left until day end). While the summoning element is very relevant to the theme, it also gets tedious eventually (to use it for new guys). Apart from these, quite.. quite polished experience : )) Good job!
