Nice graphics. I couldn't figure out the storage feature and maybe therefore didn't notice much progression in difficulty.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Tears of Coffee

Nice graphics. I couldn't figure out the storage feature and maybe therefore didn't notice much progression in difficulty.
Really liked this one! Nice art and fitting music loop (while a bit repetitive after a while, maybe make it longer or more subtle?) and the orders get more complicated after a while. There seems to be some bug- sometimes I have drinks in storage but can not give them out nor produce fresh ones of that type, then the customer gets angry and leaves? Good entry!
LOVE the art, LOVE the concept and LOVE the interpretation of the theme. I think the main problem here is the difficulty scaling and sense of progression. I served about 20 customers and quit because the game did not seem to change. I think this game needs some upgrade system and currency. That said if there would have been more machines to use the way they are placed is probably going to become very annoying, a solution can be that the player have to physically go to the machine otherwise it feels like an unnecessary task to artificially increase difficulty. But all that said I don't want the main message to slip which is: the game art, story, concept is great and I can see myself playing this exact game with slight changes and having a long fun time. Great amazing job especially with respect to the time.
Definitely love the graphics and the idea. However, I was not able to find out how to operate with the storage, because it stopped working and I wasn't able to send cofees to the customers. I really love the idea and mechanics, and would love to play it more, but I couldn't just continue. I bet it must be my fault, not your game, so did not rate the game poorly for that. Also would love to have some "zoom out" feature, because the scrolling is a bit tedious, but nothing game breaking :)
Nice art style but there is a little lack of sound effects and challange. Good job.
The graphics are absolutely gorgeous!! However the gameplay is not there yet, the game is repetitive and not very interesting... but don't get me wrong, there is lots of potential Grymt jobbat!
Not sure how this fits the theme, but I liked the graphics and the customers queuing for coffee. Very cool cafe simulator. I wish there would be less and less customers, as you failed to keep customers, and therefore grabbing the theme a little better.
The pixel art looks amazing given it is produced within 48h. Music is a nice touch too. The gameplay is very simple and straightforward.
Love the art, sound and polish! Made me feel like I was really in a coffee shop haha.
THANK YOU ALL for all the lovely feedback! It means a lot!
Sorry for the game breaking storage bug, I'll fix it as soon as possible! :grimacing:
I took on too much scope and wasn't able to implement many of the [core gameplay elements](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BM-c2FeNGfj14TAdPRFJLr-lPJPiUHE5Dco57_Yk3uM/edit?usp=sharing) I had planned for this game such as budget, customer satisfaction, upgrades (new products & production efficiencies) as well as marketing!
@cptdustmite @zondarg @iluvatar The bug with products in storage not leaving production has (hopefully) been fixed now! Please give it a try if you want :)
@milestone-games Yes, thanks, works much better now! Had a look at you design document, impressive. So maybe you could include payments and tips from happy customers, and then once a day counting the daily profits? Minus the used ingredients?
Nice work! Is there a way to end it or do you just try to get up as much stock as possible?
Amazing art! Gameplay wise it was really fun trying to remember the orders and watching those yummy items transported to the customers, but after a while i was able to fill up the storage so much that the order fullfilled themselves :D
@zondarg Thanks for verifying :pray:
@lone-wolf Thanks for playing! Unfortunately there is currently no end state, the orders just get more complicated over time. What do you think the end state should be?
@malai Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, that's definitely one thing I wish I changed before the deadline :smirk: Perhaps products expire after some time, or the queue is limited somehow.
I think you should limit storage, it is easy to fill and make infinite chain. If this happens, you don't have to think anything. Apart from this, the game is beautiful and the idea very good.
I love the art, and the music is spot on! The ability to scroll through the shop wasn't apparent so I kept resizing my browser to try to see the whole game screen at once. Sound effects for the machines/customers would have been nice, otherwise I agree that the music could be spruced up a bit to make up for the lack of other SFX.
The infinite production queue size and infinite storage makes it easy to have the game play itself. I know from your comments that you did originally plan on production upgrades and resource management, and I love building up to overpowered automation in games, but it's pretty boring to start off that overpowered.
Given enough time to complete your original planned scope of the game, I think this could be absolutely wonderful! Visually, it LOOKS like a polished and fun resource game. Something I'd see the screenshots of on the app store and download for a good time. So if you had been able to implement the core features you intended, I bet it would be fantastic.
Great work!
@papabirb Thanks so much for the thorough review, I really appreciate that you took the time! Great point about navigation, it's not intuitive. I'll update the description with instructions! I completely agree that some SFX would have added to the ambience. I had 3-4 sound effects I really wanted to add, but wasn't able to get it done in time for the deadline
Like you, I'm a also a huge fan of building up to automation, there's something really fun about improving efficiencies to a point where suddenly you have more supply than demand, only for it to change again as new bottlenecks appear... and the process repeats all over again
Yes, I feel inspired to continue working on this game, especially after getting reviews like yours. Thank you!
@darkfire92 Thank you, that's great feedback. :raised_hands:
Great game! Really loved the sound design. While i played it i got lost in the music and didn't realize it was already half an hour of playing  Maybe you could restrict the production of the products with some sort of resource, other than that great work.
@circuitbree WHAT, you played for half an hour?!? That's amazing! Great idea, thanks for the feedback!
This game is a really great idea. However i just produced every drink and the game played itself and I was just watching. The game still looks great and a limitation of the storage or no storage at all would improve the game a lot! Overall good entry!
@tyrael Thank you for playing! Definitely agree on your feedback! :)
Hi, neat concept! I think you have a good foundation. Most of my feedback is hoping for it to expand. At some point I was hoping that you could combine ingredients from both machines like bun+coffee = cinnalatte or something.
For a quicker improvement, definitely up the speed on the game to make it more challenging ^^
@ironygames Hey that's a great idea! Will definitely consider combinations :) Thanks for the review!
@milestone-games maybe call it a 'game won' after buying up all the large coffeehouse chains you put out of business due to your excellent coffee
@lone-wolf Excellent idea! World domination
Very impressive art for a compo entry! Gameplay was very smooth. Music was fitting to the mood. The main thing missing for me was inability to win or lack of progression. If you add that, it would a nice well-polished order execution game.
Great job!
@mykola Thank you for the kind feedback, much appreciated!
Really fun, had a great deal of fun building up storage and watching it pour out in order. An awesome mechanic to add would be a cost of production. So the customers pay for their food, and to produce an item costs money. This way building up a ton of storage and having the game auto play isn't as possible. Really great job! :)
Thanks for the feedback @ryan123rudder, that's a great point - this cost/revenue & supply/demand dynamic is something I would like to explore as I keep developing the game.
@milestone-games So you do plan to continue? Thats great! I'll follow you to keep up with the development. Wheres the best place to do so?
@ryan123rudder Yes, that's the plan! I've already started working on the features [I had planned in my game design doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BM-c2FeNGfj14TAdPRFJLr-lPJPiUHE5Dco57_Yk3uM/edit?usp=sharing) but wasn't able to complete in time, but I'm not releasing the updates publicly until LD46 is over :) To be honest I haven't thought about how to communicate updates. Perhaps follow me here on LD and I'll make a blog post once 2.0 is released! (Would love some play testing help as well) :)
Easy to play, lovely intro, robust! Just somme game balance and it's perfect!
@cybernetic Thank you for the kind words! :raised_hands:
Nice little game! Just a shame there isn't much to do after you figure out the automation mechanic, would love to see this expanded further. Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709058
I really love the way the game looks and the overall mood of the game! Very chill and relaxing. The music fits very well and I think subtle sound effects could really enhance the game. I would say, however, that since the game feels more relaxed, incorporating some kind of break in the customer line would feel appropriate. Great work!
@mateusboga Thank you so much for the playthrough and review! I added your playthrough to the top of the page so others can check it out!
@brndncn Thanks for the kind words, I'm developing this further, so thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree having some type of break dynamic would improve it( e.g opening hours or something). It would give the player time to focus on strategy, like research.
I write this comment while playing this game because of the awesome storage feature! :) It took some time to notice it, but when I did, it was easy to figure out how to use it.
I really enjoy music and the atmosphere of the game. Great pixel art! :) Also, I like little tooltips with names of drinks and desserts. Winning and losing conditions and some difficulty progression would make this game even better. Great job!
P.S.: Strange things happen when you alt-tab from the game's tab. :smiling_imp: Capture2.PNG
I like the graphics and music, although the music does get repetitive after a while. It's a pity much of the actual gameplay is still missing. Also, it doesn't work for me on firefox. Luckily I have some other browsers installed for cases like this.
Nice game. Cool pixelart and great music. Well done!
Very nice art and fitting music, and thanks for the small Swedish course right at the top! I had fun with playing barista for a change but I think I had an unfair advantage as I was playing the game full screen in UHD and thus never had to scroll between customer's order and fulfilling it, otherwise I wouldn't have lasted long. Good game! Here's my stream from last week featuring the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUmP-nl1pVw
PS: I really miss going to the café! ☕
An interesting idea.
Unfortunately some difficulty is missing due the unlimited storage and production queue.
The Graphics are really cool and with some work in the mechanics with limited storage or a limited queue it can be totally be fun.
Nice Job well done
