Interesting concept! Things got a little surreal when I realized there were so many bodies I was literally pushing them around to get to the other houses to spray them down.

I looked away for a second and everything went to hell. This game requires constant vigilance XD

pedromgdo 2020-04-20 11:32

Solid game, and while the music wasn't bad it'd be nice if there were an option to disable music and sound, as I often play games with my own music in the background. Other than that great job!

peto184 2020-04-20 12:09

@pedromgdo oh I didn't think of it, for the next game I will definitely include that

rens-jan 2020-04-20 12:31

Damn that escalted quickly, looking away for one second isn't a good idea. I loved the setting of the game. I kept however walking down. I don't know if it was a bug on my side but it didn't matter in the later levels as the game got progressively harder.

twowolf 2020-04-20 14:52

Looks like we had the exact same idea lol wait a sec let me play this

Okay same idea different execution. First of all I really like the responsiveness of the controls. First try lv3, second try lv18. At first I didn't know what the gauge but it's massively different when I learned how to press and release. You were right about the play time but the average level could be a bit higher. I could've gone further if I didn't thought I couldn't lose the game and lose focus. Overall I had fun.

Minor issue, sfx begins to drown out bgm after lv12. At lv17 I can only hear coughing. Perhaps you should separate your bgm channel from your sfx, otherwise there's too many coughing going around at once.

You're using unity; please consider including mac/windows/linux builds.

I'm surprised it took me this long to find a disease flavored game, given all anyone is talking about is coronavirus.

peto184 2020-04-20 15:08

@twowolf and @jpv thanks for the tips, I will look into it :)

I didn't have much time left for balancing the higher levels, so with right running and spraying pattern it gets easy.

lazzydev72 2020-04-20 15:27

Nice Well planed But neel little more work.

robinerd 2020-04-20 15:53

Cool! The art could be improved but nice concept and gameplay, fairly addicting :v:

acidviper 2020-04-20 17:13

It was fairly addicting to say the least, but an issue was that I could just hold left click and have it stutter, but that seems like it was just as effective as having a full bar, which made some parts of the game a bit easy. The coughing was a great effect, and the background music was very nice as well.

peto184 2020-04-20 17:26

@lazzydev72 @robinerd @acidviper thanks for the feedback:)

endurion 2020-04-20 17:38

Very nice, but getting chaotic later on. I managed to reach level 16. By level 15 the cough sounds mute the music :)

Also, you should confine the mouse to the window. I clicked outside several times shifting the focus to a different program. Other than that, pretty polished and good to play!

odeyalko 2020-04-20 18:01

Good idea, it plays interesting. But by time bored

maxdmg 2020-04-20 19:34

(This is written assuming that viruses that reach green houses die off) A very enjoyable gameplay loop! Everything about the game was decent enough. But what I really LOVED was how by playing the core gameplay loop (go to red houses spray to turn green) was enough to kill off the viruses even though there seems to be a whole separate mechanic to killing the viruses that you allow the player to learn. Even if the player is not able to figure out how to kill the mechanic, by just doing what is obvious (turn red house to green house) that is enough to kill the viruses without them figuring it out. This mesh of mechanics made me interested and gave the opportunity to experiment while playing the game trying to figure out how the viruses were dying. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not but DAMN that was super interesting to figure out. Almost like another layer on top of the game. Glad I got to play your game, you made something that was mechnically solid and should be proud of that.

peto184 2020-04-20 19:51

@maxdmg wow, thank you for the kind words, very much appreciated!!:) all infected eventually die (5-10s) and they slow down based on their remaining life time. However, your proposition that they die off only when reaching a green house is actually real cool, if there was a time, I would probably implement it. If you are really interested in this topic, I would recommend you a 3Blue1Brown 'Simulating an epidemic' video, which was an inspiration. Thanks again for the feedback:)

theconfusedcyborg 2020-04-20 20:33

Really enjoyed this game! Don't think I could play it longer than I did, and would have loved to see more type of enemy viruses with different properties or something to keep the gameplay interesting!

immortalitybh 2020-04-20 22:43

pretty hectic

itskdog 2020-04-20 22:47

Felt bad for those people. I couldn't save them:) At first I though I had to avoid them, but I realized I just needed to spray.

brandann 2020-04-21 00:57

I like it, like mushroom wars! I need some variation with the virus, it gets a little tedious fight the same bad guy the entire time. I liked the calming music, my wife wanted something a bit faster to match the urgency of healing everyone. do what you want with that information LOL

not a bad start, I got to level 10!

this game seems to remind me of something... I can't put my finger on it though.

wheffle 2020-04-21 04:01

Very creepy vibe, which is pretty cool. Love the idea of going around hosing everything down with lysol. I think there could be a bit more player feedback, like I kind of had a vague idea what the dots represented but I wasn't too sure. I think there was a warning that the web version might have UI elements missing, so I might have missed something because of that. Good entry!

peto184 2020-04-21 11:01

@theconfusedcyborg @brandann @wheffle thank you for your feedback!:)

enderr42 2020-04-21 16:51

As i tried to reach a neighbourhood of 5 infected houses that was spreading disease at an alarming rate, fighting through piles of corpses on the street and trying desperately to conserve the last of my disinfectant (the factory that made it closed some time ago due to workers dying out), i realised - Turn 15, will be the end. the end of everything.

Grim, macabre and daunting. I like it. Great job)

The only problem i had - a house spawned beneath the disinfectant level and i missed it constantly.

rendow 2020-04-21 17:01

Really like the game! I got to level 27 but then the game crashed (web verison). It was a bit hard to see everything at later stages due to the increasing number of black squares, I think it could be better to remove them at the end of each round (which maybe also helps the performance). Great game mechanics, the game loop felt really good. Well done!

elbapotsnugg 2020-04-21 21:42

Love the concept - very relevant! Maybe add some sort of despawn to the dead bodies as they start to fill the screen as the game goes on.

pkenney 2020-04-22 03:23

Wow talk about an essential job!

Cool game. I made it to level 20. At level 7 I was like "pff I got this" and I was simply going around in a circle to each house and disinfecting. By level 10 I was like "umm wow okay I can see why this gets out of control" and responding more directly to problem houses without a schedule. By level 15 I was never taking my hand off the mouse button and frantically running from place to place. I think it's cool how your system works out so that when things are in control they are manageable, but once it gets a little out of control it starts escalating into disaster quickly!

Nice tight controls, the audio was great at conveying both mood and game state, too. Good job!

peto184 2020-04-22 10:47

@rendow level 27 was way more than I ever manage to reach myself, I didn't test that far :D gj Also @rendow, @elbapotsnugg, @pkenney thank you for the feedback :)

mateusboga 2020-04-22 22:13

Cool game. Very topical xD Makes you want to just grab people's butts and lock them in their homes lol Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599709053

100th-coin 2020-04-25 20:38

Oh man this is tough. I like your take on the theme! The art is simple and adorable. great work!

peterbuo 2020-04-28 04:11

Great work

candlesan 2020-04-30 07:37

Cool - it's challenging to run around. The controls felt good. It felt very intuitive to move my character around and aim with the mouse.
