Great game with nice visuals, balanced mechanics and funny mood =)
That was a blast. I wish there were checkpoints in the second level go I got pretty frustrated at times there. Love the feel of the character controller, chaining jump spin slide spin jump was awesome.
This was really fun. I'd complain it was too hard but I was compelled enough to play the whole thing anyway. this game has STYLE
Love the design and concept, couldn't get past the first jumping tomato tho  crushed him and nothing happened
@joseph-yannessa Did you try wall jumping?
Very strong and robust gameplay elements, had minor to no gameplay glitches. However, about 20 seconds into each level, my game to slow to a crawl for about 15 seconds, then run smoothly after that. I think it may have been caused by SteamVR trying to launch, but I'm honestly unsure.
The gameplay is tight, responsive, and rewarding. It reminds me a lot of Super Mario 64 in regards to movement, especially in the 2D sections (2D SM64 romhacks).
The music was superb and fits the game perfectly. Wish there was more tracks to listen to, in the best way possible. I will definitely be adding the song in the game to my playlist.
Overall, the game was fantastic. Congratulations to everyone who created it.
This is so amazing! Loved everything about it, from the look and feel, to the controls, to the expansive length of gameplay. Honestly wasn't expecting anything more past the first level. I managed to complete the game with relative difficulty after about 10 minutes using a controller. Loved the little hidden sheep tokens for extra points! I guess all I would say is the tie-in with the theme was just a bit lax, but in the end I liked the idea of a plain ol' hotdog on a quest for all the toppings, so I think it worked out. Excellent submission, though. Really hit that sweet nostalgic mid-90s platforming spot.
@mors Whoops! Gave it another try and oh man was I about to miss out! Absolutely love the animations at the end of the levels, just ascending to the heavens on my bun. Blown away by the design of several of the puzzles, especially in the 3rd and 4th level. My score was 69k
Reminds me of this old MGMT t-shirt logo https://www.depop.com/products/mothxencounters-mgmt-t-shirt-xs/
Love the concept and humour! Wish I had a controller though lol.
I dig the aesthetic (and the music), but unfortunately the game became unplayable for me early in the first level with massive lag spikes and stuttering audio. Not sure what's up, but I'm running an AMD FX-8150 with a GTX 1060 so I'm guessing there's some issue with the game. Wish I could have seen more, but oh well. I'll assume the rest is pretty good too.
@guitarbro Well most other people were able to play the game just fine. Do you have any issues with other Unreal Engine games? Or could anything running at the background be the cause for this?
@mors Unfortunately, no. I've played several UE4 games for this jam so far just fine (and I've even made a few games myself in UE4 on this PC). Wish I could give you some more information, but I've got nothing. Sorry. :/
I loved the game it had a great feel to it and was rather intresting concept.
Great look and feel, love it! Nice sausage animation :D
Overall great game. I playe dwith keyboard which probably isn't optimal, though I loved it. Great work
Connection with a theme is a stretch, yes, but the game is very nice, I love the 3D-platformer style, it has some old console games vibe!
I liked the idea of the game! Very cool visual style and animations! Cool music! The only thing you can do is platform heights. I could hardly jump to a jumping tomato)))
Well done ! Cool and funny game :D
I liked the idea of the game! Very cool visual style and animations! Cool music!
Hey, your game looks great but my ooooold Nvidia GTX 280 doesn't support it ^^' Do you have a gameplay video ?
Sans titre 1.jpg
It does that
@pl4typus From what I've researched, this message means that your pc doesn't support directX11. Ill try to get mors to update it to use both- hopefully it'll work.
@guitarbro We'll put some research into the issue. We arent quite sure what would cause that- Perhaps its something with our rendering settings. Like what we said with pl4typus' issue, we'll see if we can fix it in a patch.
Thanks for the compliments, everyone, cheers!
REally impressive game would love to know how you did the grey to color thing that happens after collecting pickups, solid controls, fun quirky graphics, absolutely bangin' music and the SFX felt great and fit the mood really well, this game feels super content complete - reminds me of that Noid 2 Indie game that too had great controls just like this.
That being said I sadly couldn't get past the 2nd level's starting area - I tried a quite a few things before giving up. I couldn't jump up over the wall facing me, the bun was behind me but obvilously way too far to reach so that wasn't it, there was a mushroom below me but I couldn't reach that because you die if you fall too low - there seemed to be an inactive object but because it was inactive it didn't do anything. No idea what I was doing wrong *shrug* This won't effect my review at all though because really all I wanted to do was play more which is a sign of a good game to me
@joellikespigs Thank you! Did you try running and diving? You can also press jump again on the air to do a spin. We wanted to make these more obvious in game but we ran out of time unfortunately.
As for how we did the color shifting, I just made a material that desaturates the colors based on a global variable (it was called something else in UE4 but I'm stupid and I forgot LOL). Most of the materials are just instances of that one base material which made things easier for us. The fog also changes the color in the same way.
@mors Thats's rad! And such a simple idea I would have never thought of, awesome stuff. Also duh I hadn't realised there was a dive move. I'll go back and play some omre this afternoon - thanks for replying
Very cool and fun game! But damn, controlling those dives is so hard! Great work still
The game is pretty fun. Graphics are great and I loved the animations, are so fluid. Good job! Unfortunately the game is very laggy on my computer, so I couldn't go further. But overall is a very good entry for the LD.
Haha this is quite the game! It reminds me a bit of Da Blob, if you've ever played that, with the whole bringing-colour-back-to-the-world thing. The gameplay is tight, and while I am not usually very good at 3D platformers this wasn't too bad. I did find my computer fans spinning up while playing which I imagine is some sort of optimization issue, and I would have preferred if the lighting for the character was right overhead, so the shadow always shows you where you will land, but otherwise I really enjoyed the game. It has a lot of style and character, great work!
One of my favourite games so far! I really enjoyed the gameplay & level design. Jumping, spinning and then diving felt a bit like in Mario 64 or Mario Odyssey :) The mechanic of switching platforms was a great idea. A bit hard for me, but overall well balanced. Oh, and graphics, animations and music are lovely. Congrats! :D I hope you win Ludum Dare :)
