Liked your game , a clean and simple one. The grass eating feature was great. But the sound effect for eating grass was a bit irritating.

Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

@calcitherin sorry about that it was litteraly added last minute. Thanks for playing

frostbyte4k 2020-04-22 17:06

@pilarius Thanks for the tip, I just have a lot of school work. so I haven't really had time to fix up all the details of my page yet. This weekend I will be sure to update the thumbnail. also Thanks for playing.

The wolf attack screenshake is hilarious.

@frostbyte4k go and rate some other games and leave them some feedback. This will cause your game to be shown on the front page so you will get more ratings!

The game looked quite funny and the gameplay idea is interesting but the way it's implemented is not super great. The sound effect for eating was pretty loud and annoying, I think just making it a bit less loud would already help. I did not really feel engaged to keep playing. I think everything was there but you need a bit more time to put it together in a way that makes it good.

This is a weird-ass game. I like how the deer moves. But everything else is pretty basic. I didn't understand how wolfs die. They just disappear?

frostbyte4k 2020-05-07 04:13

@notke sorry I have adhd so I have a hard time focusing which makes it harder to polish everything up in time. the wolves were supposed to disappear off screen. but I didn't have time to add that. If you don't mind me asking what was weird about you experience with the game? I only ask because I wish to improve, but Thanks for playing!

frostbyte4k 2020-05-07 04:20

@shakedimus Sorry about the sound I was seconds away from running out of time. I didn't have time but I also wanted more complicated hunting patterns. as for the implementation I was going to polish everything up a bit more but I ran into some pretty nasty bugs and my adhd doesn't like trouble shooting very much. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback.

frostbyte4k 2020-05-07 04:21

@gilesbgraham haha I agree. Thanks for playing!

pete 2020-05-11 23:46

It's nice that it have the thing where you have to prioritize, but it could use a bit more dept or something. It also felt like the wolfs stopped coming at some point, maybe they broke? The animation is also a nice touch.

frostbyte4k 2020-05-11 23:55

@pete Sorry about the buggyness I haven't had much time for bug fixing. Thanks for playing and leaving feed back.

sohakes 2020-05-12 01:18

It's really simple, but it is a complete game. I like how you tried to animate it through moving the static model. Obviously it would be better to get a rigged model with animations, but it's a cool effect you don't have that. The mouse hitbox seems off, and I think it would be cool if I could click below the deer. You could easily solve that with more knowledge, so your next game will be even better :).

frostbyte4k 2020-05-12 01:43

@sohakes Thank you for playing and leaving feed back. I don't know exactly what you mean, the grass is below the deer and is randomly collected with in a certain range of the mouse when you click(there is no mouse hitbox), and you can only eat the grass near the deer. This was the intended design. If you could elaborate more on what you consider to be the issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again

mark-a-pressler 2020-05-12 01:47

This was quite fun! I enjoyed the little gameplay loop of trying to get some green munchin' on while being wary about attacking wolves. It also felt fun to get a successful wolf dodge off. A bit more variation in the world, places to hide, etc would be fun but hard in a constrained amount of time. Great job overall!

frostbyte4k 2020-05-12 02:07

@mark-a-pressler Thank you very much. I was actually planning on adding more hiding places with bushes and stuff but like you said that time constraint was on my tail the whole time, but I'm glad you enjoyed playing.

zachary-rodrigue 2020-05-12 02:40

the game idea is good but the lack of time really showed up. the character model is nice looking. that said, I only found myself attacked once by the wolves and I spend enough time to explore each corners of the vast empty grassland. I would have loved to have a little bit of music. Next time you make a game with a repetitive sound(like the grass), try to add a bit of randomness in the pitch of the sound, that way it is a bit less irritating for the ears

sohakes 2020-05-12 03:13

@frostbyte4k if I try to eat the grass directly below the deer, I can't. Maybe that's intended? But I think I understand part of the problem now, if I try to eat grass too far away, it gets some grass closer to the deer too. That makes sense. It seems it also gets grass always below the mouse pointer. I think it would be cool to get it around the pointer, but that's a minor issue.

frostbyte4k 2020-05-12 03:43

@sohakes I didn't notise that. I think it's caused by the deers hitbox blocking the raycasts. Thanks for clarifying I appreciate the feedback.

frostbyte4k 2020-05-12 03:56

@zachary-rodrigue Thanks for the feedback yeah there's a bug, for some reason the wolfs only spawn when your close to the areas with sticks. Also thanks for the audio tip that would've probably would have helped alot.

demandooda 2020-05-12 04:06

912! The controls were a bit strange, but once I got the hang of them, and found clever ways of maximizing my score and avoiding the wolves, the game was pretty fun. I thought the art style worked well, bravo on the animal models!

frostbyte4k 2020-05-12 04:37

@demandooda I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing.

Took me a while to understand I can use WASD to move around. After that, it's actually a fun game!
