Digging the minimal aesthetic. Felt like I wasn't getting quite enough attack cards, but I ended up winning on my fist try, so... good enough, I guess? The mechanics feel pretty solid though. With some more variation, you could make this into a really deep puzzle/strategy game. It would be nice if there was some background music, but given how clean everything else is, I think I can let it slide a bit. All things considered, it's a pretty good game. Well done.
The UI looks super clean! Great job :D

The game has a cool aesthetic. Reminds me of Portal with the turrets and even the UI art on the cards. I would love to see some sound effects and music next time. I feel it would've added to the overall polish of the game. It kind of reminds me of a crazy game of chess. Good job!
This is gorgeous!! Spectacular for 72 hours! I love the models, hex grid, AI, particle effects. It's so polished for a jam game!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We updated the build with some music and sfx an hour after submission as we opted out of the audio category anyway 🙃
Hopefully it'll drown out the silence lol

I'm blown away by the visuals, it looks very polished. The gameplay is also very fun, this is something I feel could turn into a full title if you decide to continue it.
Would definitely love to see a more fleshed out, fuller version of this game. Could be pretty unique taken in the right direction!
Awesomely minimal art, very cool aesthetic. Some UX feedback things could obviously be improved but hey its a jam

Very nice aesthetic, fun gameplay. Could use a bit more card variety, but it has the necessities.

Took me a minute to understand how to play, had a bit of an issue drag dropping the cards onto the field. Don't know if anybody else faced the same issue or if it was only me, Well polished & Great Visuals/Aesthetics, The music fits well with the game. Felt a bit lacking in the 'theme' but then again thats just me. Good work! :)

The visuals were stunning. Very nice work. It wasn't obvious at first how the card mechanics worked (it seemed unintuitive to drag an attack card onto my own units), but I was able to figure it out after a minute or so. I do think you need to have a separate download for the post-jam version. You aren't being rated on audio, but music and sound makes a big difference to mood, which you are being rated on.

@jharler thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the visuals! Greg will be happy lol
Didn't think the 1 hour late second upload would be too big of an issue as Greg had made/found all the sounds during the Jam. I just forgot to hook them up until after we submitted.
I have opted us out of mood as well as audio for simplicity.
Thanks again!
A cool game. I liked the mechanics and the awesome Art you had done. An AI for that short time is awesome aswell.
Well Done Guys
Now this is just my type of game. And it looks great, too. I'd love to see more animated parts than the base, but there are always compromises to be made in a jam, right.
Imagine this game with a deep deckbuilding mechanic like Slay the Spire and the meaningful tactical desicions of XCom (which at some points I kinda felt already)... :)
Anyways I had a blast playing it, thanks for sharing!
This game is very intuitive, you did a really good job about that. Please continue like that!

Really polished vfx and ui. Interesting combination of genres. Thanks so much for bringing it by the stream!
Great game mate! I always tell myself I do not like card games and strategy, but who am I kidding? I played 3 games in a row with Void. I found your game on itch.io with the LD45 tag, but there were no link to this page there! I had to search your username to rate. Just add your game link so people can rate your awesome game! :)

@pestodesign oh dear I created the itch.io page before the submission and forgot to go back and add the link! Thanks for letting us know 😊 and thanks for playing!
@almax You are welcome! I learned it that to make your game visible among the thousands is as important tat actually finishing the game. LD is a good marketing practice as well :)

More of a Tech demo of a much bigger game to come
As so many say the general presentation of the game is beautiful, and the general mechanics work well. In my first try all my buildings spawned on the very left and I had basically no chance defending them (I thought that was bad level design until i found out on the second try that i was just super unlucky). I think either you should pre-place them or constrain the random placement so that it is not unfair.
I would love to see this develop in a direction with deck building aspects, similar to slay the spire.

@ausstein thanks for playing!
We had originally intended to author a number of level layouts and randomly pick them. Unfortunately we ran out of time and were left with my quick random area implementation. Such is the way with jams 🙃
There were also a number of mechanics such as burning cards that we had in a paper prototype on the first day that never made it in, so we'd love to return to this game and flesh it out one day. Once we finish all our other current projects haha

A good little turn based tactical game.
Graphics are cool and the card mechanic add some pressure (perfect for the fight/survive feeling).
A good entry
Cool tactics game! Quite simple but works well. The art and effects are really good! Good job!

The graphics are totally awesome! Wonderful animations and good effects. The background music fits very well. The game itself is a bit confusing, because it's hard to understand where enemy units are moving and attacking and how you're able to counter it. I won the first time, but without any tactical understanding of the game (maybe there ain't?) But otherwise top notch!
c l e a n graphics. I was definitely taking notes on how you designed it, awesome job. The gameplay itself reminded me a lot of Into the Breach rather than XCom because you give away hints about what the enemy is going to do so that I can plan accordingly. Like someone said, all this needs is some metasystems and RPG/deckbuilding elements and you have some real potential here.
