LD45 — Start with nothing

VOID by Almax 2019-10-08T22:02:13Z

Now this is just my type of game. And it looks great, too. I'd love to see more animated parts than the base, but there are always compromises to be made in a jam, right.

Imagine this game with a deep deckbuilding mechanic like Slay the Spire and the meaningful tactical desicions of XCom (which at some points I kinda felt already)... :)

Anyways I had a blast playing it, thanks for sharing!

Free Will by Baski 2019-10-08T21:25:06Z

I liked it a lot!

Especially the interaction between platforming and building at the same time which was really satisfying when I managed to do it (once :))

(Going left really quit the game - which was surprising when playing in the browser, but than again it's only consequentual given your theme was free will :))

Ragtag Rescue by Tim Ruswick 2019-10-12T18:51:08Z

That's what I'm talking about! If this game doesn't secure a top spot something is seriously wrong (or people just have a wieldly different taste in games than me)

The only things I noticed is that there is a barely noticable visual artifact with the bouncer and the game just doesn't end.

But maaan I would give it 6 Stars if I could :D Great game, thanks for sharing!

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-08T21:03:23Z

It's better than nothing...

Much better in fact. Not only do I build up the game from "nothing", also by doing so I begin to understand what I'm supposed to do step by step. That's a really cool and original concept.

Not to mention the great graphics and animations as well as the perfectly fitting soundtrack (even if you searched for it that's still something!)

Thank you for this great experience :)

Scribble from Scratch by Tobias Maushammer 2019-10-08T08:27:59Z

Thanks for all the great feedback, we're really happy that you are enjoying Scribble from Scratch :) The strength of the catapult varies depending on your position on the catapult and your input during the flight. Which is as you said rather unpredictable. Maybe I'll find the time to rework it in the next few days :)

Scribble from Scratch by Tobias Maushammer 2019-10-08T17:36:15Z

Hi Emma, we all earned a lot of yikes/nopes:D and the level you are describing is our "endboss" so well done!

Thank you all so much for your kind words and great feedback! And of course for enjoying our game :D

@drevilbrain Sounds like a great plan! 😀

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

WHILE(ALIVE) by Skyeward 2020-10-06T23:08:48Z

Great game, I loved it. Especially the way you combine weapons as having a delay and shooting after each other is great. I never thought about that possibility

The only thing that bothered me was that I felt i was zoomed in too far in peacetime. It meant that I had to run through the entire room searching for modules at worst, which felt pretty bad. I could see it being worth it, if there were an explanation storywise and it is meant for me to better connect with the character (Like the optics modules are optimized for combat). If it was merely done for the "fight!" effect I think it would also work with a very minor zoom.

In the beginning I thought that the enemies hits on me wouldn't register because the background of the healthbar is so subtle.

All in all it was a great experience, thank you! Definitely one of my favourites so far.

Loopomotive by Tamas Turi 2020-10-05T21:34:36Z

I loved it. A simple premise and it's easy to understand and get going. The design is very clean and consistent. I would love to have a build for mobile, because I think it would work a lot better using touch than it does with mouse and keyboard.

Sometimes I was confronted with obstacles that felt too easy, when I had to "just replace the disappearing track". To me this felt more like downtime. Maybe the AI could choose to vanish tracks that cannot be simply replaced more often? This lead to me actively choose what felt like a semi-optimal way to play (choose a piece that is not fitting in order to craete more challenge) to keep myself enganged.

Great work nonetheless

RoboBlast by theforceluke 2020-10-05T20:03:42Z

Thanks :) Hope you enjoy the gameplay, aswell.

Spatium Locus by ThorPalsson 2020-10-05T22:58:54Z

I liked the atmosphere a lot and the storytelling using the log messages.

It crashed for me twice, though. It does not seem to be a memory issue. The error report states an access violation:

Read from location 0000000000000020 caused an access violation.

Stack Trace of Crashed Thread 24228: 0x00007FFAF117E5AF (UnityPlayer) AbortShim::operator= 0x00007FFAF11B9D2F (UnityPlayer) AbortShim::operator= 0x00007FFAF1B22D1E (UnityPlayer) Baselib_Memory_Free 0x00007FFAF1B280BD (UnityPlayer) Baselib_Memory_Free 0x00007FFAF1B28198 (UnityPlayer) Baselib_Memory_Free 0x00007FFAF1525038 (UnityPlayer) UnityMain 0x00007FFB53F96FD4 (KERNEL32) BaseThreadInitThunk 0x00007FFB55B5CEC1 (ntdll) RtlUserThreadStart

The reflections seemed very glitchy for me, aswell. I'll give it another shot in a week or so, it looks really promising

Stuck in a pool! by BlackLambert 2020-10-06T08:20:41Z

I loved it!

The story was very fun and motivating, the visuals were great and the effects, aswell. Especially the "splash" felt awesome! And interacting with the yodel guys was just the cherry on the cake.

Thanks for the great experience and nice to hear from you, good to see you're still "in the loop"

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Icarus by PowerAnze 2021-09-20T19:01:24Z

Stumbled upon the icarus when joining the theme slaughter round for the next LD and just loved it! Thought I'd let you know, even though this is 4 months old by now :)

LD49 — Unstable

Instability by R3L0ad1 2021-10-05T16:57:45Z

Awesome work overall! Haven't played many games, yet, but I can already see this being one of my favourites this jam.

Fickle Fortune by Tobias Maushammer 2021-10-05T08:42:26Z

The Damage from unknown sources is probably from the bricks lying around. They are very hard to see at times :)

Thanks for your feedback!

Fickle Fortune by Tobias Maushammer 2021-10-06T08:57:31Z

Thanks for all the great feedback, guys. We are glad you enjoy our little game :)

(The bricks being hard to see sometimes is totally on me. You are all right, though, we should/should've made that one clearer) :)

It Was Desert by senar93 2021-10-05T14:03:55Z

I love the art. All of it. Lighting, Textures, Shading, Animations, Effects. Everything is top notch!

CORE by StudioRightside 2021-10-05T17:06:56Z

Very solid entry. Graphics and Sound are awesome and I appreciate adding a story to it in such a short amount of time. Great work!

One nit-pick I'd have is, that I'm personally not a big fan of the shots having both random scatter AND limited ammo.

One quick note: You should classify the Link as HTML5 instead of "source code". I nearly skipped that one, because I didn't feel like building it myself :D

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

MULLIGUN by those-30-ninjas 2018-04-26T19:52:04Z

I love the idea and your decision to go for an old school fps style. The graphics and audio was very well done, albeit it a little too much on the cute side, which for me personally collided with the rather dark writing. Gameplay itself felt quick, intuitive and awesome and I loved the half opening door idea, which allowed to peak into later rooms. I would've needed some way to evaluate my deck in order to make meaningful deckbuilding decisions, but that might just be your "hard to master" part. Overall I liked it a lot!
