this is a cool little game, i really like the concept. i like the ending too, i really didn't expect that twist, good work!

Wow - that really reminded me of my LD45 entry

Good job with a nice entry - the text was a little slow - so sometimes "triggered" the fast forward for it

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for your kind comments !

Nice idea ! I really like the idea to embody a scientist ! I first imagine to interact directly with the microorganism. Graphics are nice Nice entry

Oh my gosh, beautiful and so atmospheric

I loved the audio and visual style. I feel like the questions I was asked were a bit trivial, mostly, but I suppose they put me into the role of a scientist. I'm just not sure a scientist would place any significance or see any challenge in correctly identifying which thing is bigger. The text was engaging enough, but I would have liked more philosophical exploration. The fourth wall break towards the end was interesting, as was the implication that the player is acting as another observer, but there was not always a compelling point to the text. For me, the biggest strength was in the audio, which I really liked. Good stuff!

Thank you a lot for you comments!

@samuel-hollywood-summers Thanks a lot for your quality feedback! :blue_heart: I totally agree with you, the questions were to easy and not that relevant. I wanted to do much more questions like the one about the food: really asking the player to predict the creatures behavior. But I didn't have time to implement it more in the game. Thanks a lot for your excellent feedbacks on the text! Actually the problem certainly comes from that I needed to find easy questions to program. So I mostly tried to build up the text to justify those questions (so if the questions were not very relevant, it was kind of hard to be compelling). So yes, I'll have to improve this next time. I'm glad you liked the audio ! :musical_note: I'm also in my first tries of creating music myself

I found it very creative and innovative! I could see this as a base of a longer game.

rmonthil 2020-10-07 15:08

@m-trigo Thanks for the nice comment, I am thinking about it actually  At least I will re-use the procedural creature generator for sure!

Beautiful! Keep up the good work.

I really liked the 'observations'! I think the audio was clipping for me, there was a lot of distortion in the music, was that intentional?

aune 2020-10-07 22:11

A game that really changes from the ordinary. Very relaxing. The story is pretty long for a "premiere" Amazing work !

I think, it would have been amazing to try to communicate with the scientist through simulation to influence the story ;)

rmonthil 2020-10-08 07:18

@roikku Thanks for the kind comment

@hank-ather Actually, I just noticed it too, if the music is too loud, there is something wrong. It may be due to the excessive compression I've done :/ I'll try to coorect it!

@aune Thanks a lot for your kind comments! That's actually a very good idea, maybe I'll explore this in post-jam, longer version of the game

Nice artwork and interesting concept. Keep up the good work

hi-im-greg 2020-10-11 12:55

A really unique experience. I liked the relaxed nature of it. I had hoped it lasted a little longer than it did. Does it matter if the observations were incorrect? I guess it would have been nice to find out how well I did. But overall, solid entry
