Quite a fun game, really enjoyed it and the hectic gameplay of quickly putting in some extra souls from the lantern to not die.
It makes sense that you can't hold infinite souls but also feels a bit weird when you suddenly can't pick up any additional ones and there didn't seem to be a clear indicator what the maximum is.
There is a bit of an annoying bug where the death sounds of multiple enemies will fuse into one ear shattering sound.
I love this. The mood is so good I really enjoyed it, it was weirdly scary while also being funny^^. Really good art aswell!
I think the sound could use some work, the text sound gets a little repetitive and the sniffing is VERY loud.
I liked the idea, and i really like the art you made, especially for the cards! Really consistent and fun artstyle and recognizable icons :3
If you want to improve it, as some people mentioned there is some bugs with the alignment of the mouse and UI elements, And elements should block others beneath them. And I think in general some of them need more feedback, like highlighting what card you select in the stockpile or what hazard effects get executed when drawing them. Cause I think only one of them got triggered when drawing multiple?
And as some nitpicks i think the salvage counter could have been visible globally and since there was no penalty for going back to the stockpile to store cards that kind of just felt tedious
This is pretty well done, really like the art and sound effects. I think the controls work as expected if i compare it to eg Celest but I can't honestly judge it cause i am terrible at Celest and sadly couldn't get very far here either.
But it still very well done!
One bug I think is that for me using Left and Right mouse button does nothing so i had to use m/l for dashing and climbing
@jpgfg Thank you for the detailed feedback! We definitely hope to finish it up a bit after the jam.
The idea was to have it work around there being more/stronger knights at the end depending on how many things you collect but overall there wasn't enough time for balancing so they might have very well been too weak.
As a fun aside, it does use procedural generation but just a very simple miner based algorithm making the path and scattering the encounters on every junktion
Very cute game, good work! I really like the art!
I think the biggest issue it has right now is that the combination of player sprite and hitbox makes it very hard to judge how big you are. Cause it goes to the edge of the skirt but one wouldn't expect the skirt to be part of the hitbox if that make sense
