Really liked how the level felt open-ended and free to explore, and the souls you get from monsters vs people felt well balanced. Had moments of fighting through enemies just barely about to run out and keeping it slightly alive with enemy souls and then I come across a few prisoners and I'm back to full and very relieved. Very fun and looks and sounds great too.

I really liked the graphics in this one, and the music was alright. Playing for the upgrades was pretty fun. Combat was difficult against the bats because they don't get knocked back when you hit them, and your sword has a short range.

Great game! Controls feel good, graphics are beautiful and audio is nice too. I really liked the open map design. Platforming games aren't that original, but this one have a unique feel in it.

This felt like sort of a mini metroidvania in some ways, which is a cool concept. As you got upgrades new routes and strategies opened up and allowed you to learn more of the environment.

It was cool to be like "Ok, I'm not going to win this run, but my goal is to harvest gold before I did to get more upgrades". Overall I really enjoyed beating this one!

I liked the game, but I died too fast everytime to be able to go far, the graphics are not the best, but they're consistent and that's what matters to me, good job!

LOVE the art. I definitely had a hard time not dying, but the controls felt nice! I just wasn't very good!

Solid entry! Controls felt alright and the mechanics were interesting. The music got annoying at parts but otherwise the game's quite good :)

This is a pretty good platform game. The graphic is simple and good. The music is okay, but the loop is a bit short. I am not a super fan of the soul meter, but it fits the jam theme. Overall a very good LD game. Well done.

Good game! I really liked the progress of the character. From a slow lame peasant to a slaying knight with jetpack! Good job :)

That was pretty short and sweet platformer. I definitely thought it was cute and the controls were nice and responsive. Graphics were very good; music could use a little work.

The part I appreciated the most was the upgrade system and the maze-like level design. The soul-meter in particular helped encourage exploration in finding hapless villagers and trying to map out an optimal direction in taking on the final boss. I feel the combat could have used a little work. In particular, I recommend adding knockback on enemies to make it much easier to combo-attack them. As it is, when you initially play, the sword is too weak to defeat the enemies before they walk into you.

I know time was short in adding a boss battle, but then again, I thought it was charming that it was so easy. Same with the Gainix ending of "rock falls, everyone dies" end screen.

Had a lot of fun with this game! Graphics looked pretty good and I really liked the animations. The platform mechanics were very responsive and fun to play. I also really enjoyed the upgrade system, and getting to feel a bit more powerful each playthrough.

My only complaint - I think it would be better to map a keyboard key for sword fighting. I didn't feel it was necessary to aim with the mouse, and it would have felt much nicer to be able to play completely with the keyboard (this was probably made a bit stronger for me because I played on a laptop using a trackpad instead of a mouse).

In any case, great game!

Really cool game! I had a lot of fun with it and kind of wish there was more, which is a very good sign! The progression was very good, and it felt very rewarding when you upgraded your character.

Some very minor issues I had was that the music got a bit annoying after a while, but since it’s compo, just having music is a bonus. I’d also like it to be clearer what each upgrade does. For example, I just assumed the jump upgrade increased my jump height and didn’t notice until a lot later that it actually made me able to double jump. I’d also liked if there were knockback on your attacks.

Overall still super good job! Well done!

The simple graphics look nice (: Very fun to play, even though some checkpoints could be helpful. I had a good time, congrats! :D

The graphics were super charming and the slime monster animation was somehow especially hilarious :smile:

While it's a pretty well polished entry I wish the player movement and combat feel would be a bit sharper. Especially the jumping is a bit floaty and imprecise since the jump height seems fixed and the feedback from takeoff and landing is vague. I know this is maybe a little bit nitpicky for a LD game but nailing these is crucial for any platformer game. Other than that the gameplay was pretty cool and the loop of repeated playthrough attempts with purchaseable upgrades worked great in getting you hooked to the game :thumbsup:
