hi
ni hao
hahaha
Hi I found your game in the search as it seemed very like games I love, reminded me a little of gorogoa/monument valley atmosphere/mood. The artwork is very pretty. I'm really sorry I've got stuck on the second level, with the bee and the flowers - this might be tiredness though! The concept and play is fa-bee-lous though!
Wow such an artistic and innovative work, like it!
Wow! Amazing graphics, I really like it. It's a pity that your art gets blurry in full screen. I really liked the idea with the main mechanic. It seems like such a simple idea, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. Great job!
I really like the aesthetics of this game! It's somewhat mystical psychedelic IMHO. The graphics are superb. Though I got stuck on the level with two bees. I collected the nectar, but not evenly between bees, maybe it was wrong. I think this game lacks a little bit of music, but overall it's a nice puzzle game!
Very interesting visual effects. This mysterious psychedelic effect is also surprising! Looking forward to someone can play to the end to share, unfortunately I card off early! I need more time to try. The pattern does not seem clear in the full screen, maybe it can be adjusted, otherwise it is a pity that this beautiful visual effect. Great game!
Nice artstyle
This is gorgeous <3
Like many of the other commenters have said, the graphics are the best part of the game, but the first impression is not good. The downloaded file doesn't work (yes I know it said so in the description, but other projects have made working versions), the github version apparently can't launch (didn't spend too much time on that) and once I did make it to the web version, I was already disappointed. And the cherry on the top, I couldn't really even play it, the controls were so odd I barely got past the second level.
Very cool game, the puzzles are very interesting though I got stuck after a bit. The biggest criticism from me is that each flower should have the number used to activate it like in the corner of that tile, or something to that effect, but it's not a huge deal bc you can just click anyways. Awesome art as well!
Very good, surreal experience. Took me a bit to figure out how exactly my flowers can influence the bees path but once I did, I got completely immersed in the sounds, colors and levels. Very simple principle but paired with the excellent level design it makes for a challenging but incredibly rewarding game. Loved this.
Hey! I remember your game "linimal" from the previous jam!
Looks like you got a new take on the same gameplay formula — nice job. Art and atmosphere are very will done.
I had some troubles playing in web, couldn't move the bee to the second vase, after I completed the first one.
@Pfannkuchen We just updated our game with music and sound effects! and thank you so much for your comment!
I really like the visual effects it's beautiful, and the simple track playing in the background really sets the mood, it's great! I do feel like the pathing of the bee could use some more explanation, as there's times it seems to not do what I would expect it to do, or maybe I'm just not smart enough...
@GreenRadiation thank you for your comment! The blurring of the image may be due to resolution ratio issues:(
@tetrergeru Haha we're surprised that you remember that previous entry! Did you try dragging the screen of vases? Can you provide details on how the problem appears for you?
Thanks for the feedback <3
@Tess Winlock thank you so much!! We are so fulfilled to know that our works on art are affirmed
This game is beautiful to look at, and the background music is lovely to listen to... unfortunately the game play doesn't seem to work as I would expect: it appears that when you click on a flower, it may or may not turn the bee which is unfortunate as it makes some of the puzzles unsolveable, or at least I couldn't work them out. Great effort, I really love the concept.
The artwork is just beautiful, and the concept is great!
Very chill, relaxing vibes which I like a lot. Great audio and art really reinforces that. I had fun solving the puzzles, had some great "aha!" moments too. Wanted to especially call out the first few puzzles which did a really good job of teaching how the mechanics work in a very intuitive way.
Only real criticism is to make it a bit clearer when you need to go over one of the flowers more than once, that threw me off a bit but otherwise a very good entry.
@jaxah Thanks for the feedback ^ ^
We acknowledge that the rule is presented very implicitly, so please refer to the [hints](https://github.com/ayuusweetfish/Nectar-Nexus/blob/master/misc/solutions/README.md) if you are interested!
@dan-allison Thanks for the feedback ^ ^
Would you mind clarifying the meaning of "when you need to go over one of the flowers more than once"? Because each pollinated flower only needs to be visited once. I'm not sure what's being misunderstood here ._.
@impalpable @nanmingle @i-cam Pinging early commenters to say that we have added sounds and solution documents, so please check them out if that interests you! Appreciate your feedback <3
@kawa-yoiko Just loaded the game up again to find the exact point I thought this at, and it was just me not understanding things. I didn't realise that you had to get the same colours together. So in the first puzzle on the second vase you need to get the two pinks and then go back to the two yellows. But I was confused when I went over the first yellow to get the last pink but didn't collect the yellow in the process. Makes sense now so sorry for the confusion!
Brilliant game ! Refreshing atmosphere, outstanding artworks, I loved playing it. One of my favorites so far, congratulations to the team :)
@dan-allison Thank you, I get it now! Indeed, it's us not making it crystal clear (^ ^;
Wonderful visuals; along with the music it sets quite a serene tone which fits the game. Also, this take on the theme is probably the best one I've seen that is unique but also fits just right. Having said that, even after making it through a significant portion of the levels, I wasn't able to put my finger on how exactly the flowers guided the bee and had to constantly undo my steps. After a while, I just ended up doing it by 'feel' instead of actively thinking about it, and if that was the intention then you did a great job (or perhaps it just hasn't clicked for me yet)! I do think it took a bit of a toll on the fun aspect though. However, I still think its a solid entry and enjoyed playing. Nicely done!
Amazing graphics, I like it. It is a relaxing game, i like audio and visual effects of the game!
Awesome aesthetics and mood! The bee flying animation was super smart and cute. Each level was beautiful!
In terms of gameplay, I couldn't figure out the exact rules governing the game. First I thought the bees would always turn towards the bloomed flower, but then I realised sometimes they don't. So I thought they only turned if the alternative move would move them away from the flower. But then I got to a puzzle where that wasn't the case, and I'm still confused about the exact mechanic here :/
But anyway, beautiful game, congrats!
Really cute game! The puzzle mechanics were fun and I think you introduced more complexity in a really good way that keeps up interest through the levels. Super nice art style as well that creates a great mood! Nice work!
This is beautiful! Very relaxing :)
Hi! A nice puzzle game! I especially liked the mood given by the music and the beautiful graphics. Unfortunately I was stuck at puzzle 16 and couldn't figure out the answer with the solution given on the github, but I had a good time trying to solve the puzzles. Thanks!
Nice Game! Hard to master wie tried several times with 4 Dudes on Screen :D
@20akshay00 @luamct Thanks for the feedback! You're right in that we had intended to guide the player through all the nuances, ideally enabling them to play the game by logic rather than feeling, but it's indeed still difficult to piece together the whole picture. Thus, we've added a screen for a graphical explanation (similar to that in [the tutorial document](https://github.com/ayuusweetfish/Nectar-Nexus/blob/master/misc/solutions/README.md)). Again, we appreciate your feedback and compliment ^ ^
Great concept!!!
How to run it? Help, please
@pacelin You can use the [web version](https://0-th.art/Nectar-Nexus)! If you want to run it locally, you can download [LÖVE](https://love2d.org/) and drag the .love file onto this application.
Beautiful graphics and overall presentation, but the gameplay is just way too unintuitive and frustrating. I think that because there is only one solution to each screen and each solution requires so many steps, it takes way too much trial and error for the player to make sense of the mechanics. Level 4 was very confusing. The only way to learn the mechanics for rotating the bee that you will need for future levels, you basically just need to click the bottom flower when happen to be on the right tile. If you click it early, you'll see that the bee just moves forward instead of rotating which can mislead you into thinking you need to be directly above it to rotate downwards which then makes the level take longer.
Also, I accidentally clicked the back arrow once which kicked me out of the vase and I lost all my progress since I had to restart at the first screen.
I feel like there's an awesome puzzle game here, but you might need to either rethink the mechanics or just do a better job of communicating them with the player. Also, holy crap this might be the most content I've ever seen in a ludum dare game! Great job pumping out so many levels and unique art in such a short amount of time
@skleembof Aha! That was quite an oversight for us! Indeed, it should have been better that level 4 be redesigned to eliminate the multiple, longer solutions. We did not intend that this be the only chance for the player to learn (the help screen and a few following puzzles all are), but yes, we would probably want to go through quite a few more hoops to effectively communicate everything to the player…
Beautiful game! I did straggle with the turning mechanics though, the turning rules are not very intuitive and it was hard for me to understand them even after I looked at the diagram at hints. To be fair I have a very bad spatial thinking haha. But I definitely enjoyed this game a lot, the graphics are splendid and the puzzles present a good amount of challenge once you figure out how the system works. And I'm impressed by the amount of levels you managed to do in such a short time! Great job.
OMG I really like the art style here!! You guys did a great wooork!!!! It was very fun and interesting to play =) Absolutely adore this game
I got stuck after some number of the puzzles, but really enjoy the unique graphics and vibe. Good work!
Visuals are superb and so is your choice of music. The game is very relaxing - it's a chill and meditative experience. Very pleasant to solve the little puzzles while enjoying the mood you created. Difficulty progression is good, and you quickly catch on how the bee turns to the flowers. Great work!
And so many levels in so little time! Very impressive.
very original idea, and the visuals are great to boot, tho it took a bit to figure it out
Beautiful looking game, absolutely relaxing mood, it's lovely! Can see myself playing this to unwind for a while.
The tutorial on how the flowers worked to turn the bees showed up after I had to figure it out for one of the puzzles, not sure if on purpose or not.
Great job!
Great game! I like the art style and though the music is simple it has a fun vibe. I like the puzzles, though sometimes got frustrated because I didn't understand things like needing to get the bees aligned and such. I think just slightly more tutorial would be nice though having the guide is great and I like the way it is written. But overall, really fun game :D
I really like the chill vibe of this game. The art is different in a good way. It is a little obscure exactly how the bee movement works, but I did enjoy playing.
It took me a while to figure out exactly what the rules were -- some simpler tutorial puzzles to build up the mechanics might serve it well -- but there's some really clever puzzle design in here! A bit of a brain-melter to play early in the morning... I really love the graphics and backgrounds. The fact each level has stems leading to the particular arrangement of flowers on the field is a really nice subtle touch, and the 'pottery'-type tile graphics are a real treat. There were a couple moments in here where I thought 'surely this level has to be impossible,' but then I found the solution and got that 'ah, of course!' feeling which is a sign of a well-designed puzzle game I think.
@cassowary Glad you like it! And you've really spot these details! ^ ^ (Your entry is quite a brain-melter as well, though it was late at night when I played it).
Indeed, I feel we're missing on some more grinding on the introduction of rules, as almost everyone has been mentioning. The movement rules had quite a few nuances that are tricky to describe and grasp (and I think this is what your design gets ingenious at — one straightforward (straight-backward??) action with no tricky corner cases hidden). Thanks for your feedback, I'm delighted to have another puzzle game wizard here!
Managed to complete the game in ~1.5h. I have to say, it is incredibly challenging.
The aesthetic is stunning, with a level of perfection that resonates with the game’s core. The unexpected ending was a delightful surprise, offering a chuckle after enduring the grueling gauntlet of puzzles. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the imaginative level icons and numbering to the pollen effects, adding layers of charm to the experience.
As for the game itself, it might just be the hardest puzzle game of this year’s LD competition... Playing it felt like my brain was on fire. Despite the straightforward interface and rules that avoid complexity, the level design is ingeniously crafted. You must have a very skilled level designer on your team. The initial levels (particularly the 10th!) were flawlessly designed. The introduction of new mechanisms later on slightly inflated the game’s structure, although I understand the necessity for such intricacies.
The ambiance of the game is something I particularly enjoyed :D
It’s astonishing to contemplate how all these pieces were meticulously assembled in just 72 hours. 5/5 without doubt. One of the finest entries in LD55.
This is one of the most gorgeous game in this jam, I am in AWE! The level design of the different mechanics and specific turns is beautifully crafted, I managed to finish all the levels (needed hints for some). I genuinely want to see more of this game! :D
