INCREDIBLE BRO 5 STARS
Okay, I made a first comment where I talked about the fact that it was too hard and all. But I had a bug that made me think the game was a static one. (The character couldn't mocve at first) so I take back what I said. It's a good game and an awesome first try. (Graphisms hurts my eyes tho but still !!!!!) Awesome job I hope you keep up !
@tarisma Thank you very much for your comment!! I appreciate the time you take for testing my first game. Next game, maybe I will put an option to turn off the effect so you can save your eyes Hahaha ! Thank you again for your kind comment !
That is a Great game, the only problem is that i havent seen any Tiny creature... Anyway, its still worth playing!
The game has good potential and polish, but I think the VHS graphics are a little harsh on the eyes. I didn't get too far in, but I feel like there could've been some sort of secondary mechanic to shooting to flavor the gameplay a little more. Also, I am unsure how this game fits with the theme. All in all, I think it was interesting and a good first game, good luck in the future!
Really cool looking, The main game play can get a little repetitive but its still really fun. art and sound design is great. Great Job!
very clean look! maybe a little more tiny creatures, or also normal ones :)
It seems to me that the game does not fit into the theme and the difference in the style of sprites feels a little strange, but otherwise it is fun to play, I liked it.
@andriana-mantidfly Thank you for your comment ! I understand your point, for me it was like watching in a small Tv some creature, and because it's at the TV so it's tiny creature ! But I complety understand you and thank you for your feedback !
While the gameplay is nothing new, I gotta admit the shooting feels punchy and satisfying, and the aesthetic is really snazzy!! For your first game, you did pretty darn great :)
Though, I gotta echo Andriana's sentiment about the clashing style of the sprites, the stylistic contrast between them does feel a little jarring, even through the VHS effect.
For a first entry, I'd call this a success! Dying by a single hit was a strong choice, but I think it worked well: every missed shot was therefore punishing, but not unrecoverable. It really increased the intensity. I think you also used simple effects well for maximal impact: the blood spurts and the gun shots. All very satisfying. I would even suggest a bit of screen shake on the shot or impact (just one -- see which feels better).
I am okay with post processing effects, like the VHS effect, but less is more (in my opinion).
Like others said, I don't feel like you used the theme much, but that is just one category. Everyone is going to see that matter differently.
Really, this was fun to play! You won't get many points for innovation, but that shouldn't be your focus for your first games. Make what you know, and do it well! You can add even more polish like a custom cursor for aiming. Find some free music on sites like opengameart.org, and it will add even more juice. And most importantly, keep developing!
The VHS aesthetic is really unique. The collisions felt a bit off at times, and it was confusing to know why I died. Gj, keep going!
I personally don't see the connection between the game and the theme, but it's totally fine! Overall, I really like the VHS screen effect; it makes me feel like playing a game inside the game.
@creeper-nade Thank you for your comment ! Yes the link with the theme is hard to see, but by having like a small guy etc on a small TV it was like "Small creature". But thank you for the time you taked yo play my game !!
Cool game!
