whaaa, you're the first game I try this edition!

I have cramps in my arm trying to frantically collect those coco de mer. I was really into it!

my notes: - Both players are a bit too close in terms of colors. - the controls are a bit hard (slippery ?) I don't know, but it felt weird moving around. Maybe the grid is a bit too rigid, or we only move on tick (or the music made me move on tick). - The swapping with the piles on the end is a nice feature, a bit clunky sometimes. - It's hard to know when the pile is high enough. Is there a combo to bring two 6 piles, rather than getting the point at height 7 (if I understood) - I like that they hold the coco de mer on their head when there is only one. - The AI is good, I felt it was good pressure. But at the same time, it could have destroyed me if it had been a bit smarter in stealing my piles

Quite an interesting collection game in that you can "steal" the enemy's pile of cocos in order to score, so what really matters isn't how high you stack the cocos but whether you're the last one to touch a "pile" or make a final combination. The AI was at a good level of difficulty as it wasn't too easy or too difficult! Given that a round lasts 3 minutes, it would be interesting if in the final minute there were special cocos (grant more points) or a coco rush to diversify the game-play. Overall good job :)

it's a fun idea, but once you realise you can steal the other players piles, it's quite easy. i ended up with 5x the score of the ai on my first attempt. i think with some balancing, it would be a really solid game though. and the audio is great!

Great game and pretty too! I would've like a bit more fluid controls when push the coco de mer around, but other than that I enjoyed it a lot. Well done!

@dhim it's an honor that it was the first game of this edition that you played. Thanks so much for the feedback! I agree with you that it would have need some more polish to make the player stand out more from the AI and get the controls and what's going on tighter.

@arkicade thanks so much! In my original plan there were also bombs that would drop in random places and clear out the cocos around them and eventually kill the player if in range. The idea of different cocos with bigger values didn't really come to my mind. I agree it would make things more interesting if those started dropping near the last minute.

@adjo thanks for the honest feedback! The AI is pretty basic, it's just looking for cocos and trying to find a place to drop them on. There is no real logic to go towards a pile. That was in the plan but, as it happens quite frequently to me during jams, I had to sacrifice that and other features to get an art and sound pass done.

@cogcomp thanks for the feedback! yes, the controls would need some more love indeed

Really nice and fun game! Got 285 and tried several times to beat it but I couldn’t get much better. I ran into some glitches with floating cocos, piles spread onto several positions, and the opponent getting stuck. But otherwise, well done!

Interesting concept and fun game. I found the rounds a little bit too long, I think half the time would have been as fun and equally challenging. Interestingly my opponent bugged out and wouldn't move during the last 10 or so seconds, giving me ample time to build on my lead. Cool entry!

Got myself into the Leaderboard at last place :sunglasses:

It was fun. Stealing give it a bit more depth, than I originally thought it would have based on the thumbnail picture. But to be fair, I didn't get the rules of the game clearly. Even after winning I don't know: how high the stack should be to score, what are scoring rules, how to crush the opponent, whether movement is sometimes choppy on purpose or not. So some explanation would be great if I were to chase the score.

But overall, very fun game  Well done!

Super fun concept with great visuals and audio!

2025-10-18 16 36 40.png Very nice entry and the idea has a lot of potential. The AI was very easy to beat, he seemingly was walking around almost randomly. Great entry!

A pretty fun game! I liked the character's sound effects. The rules are clear from the get‑go. It's especially funny when the opponent builds a tower and you toss a single piece and the credit goes to you :) Great job!

Cool concept, quite fun to play around! The AI was pretty fun! Some assets still looked placeholder (but hey it's a game jam) - great game overall!

torcado 2025-10-18 16:17

fun little game! i can imagine it being hard to tune an opponent AI for a game jam, but i think it turned out well in this case :) it's fun playing against the computer's decisions. i also like the mechanic of "pulling" items when pushing into an edge, a simple but elegant solution to preventing them from getting stuck on the edges while also introducing nuance to the mechanics. fun game, nice work!

I played the we version and ran in to two issues.

The oipponent AI seemed to get stuck at some point. After it freed itself, pushing one pile somehow pushed nonadjacent piles also.

Before those issue, it played well. The AI played well enough to force learniing the gmae quickly which for something like a ludum dare review session is probably good.

binroot 2025-10-18 20:34

The simplicity of the visuals are so well done. I tried to make a 3D game too, but it ended up looking like crap

zedgame 2025-10-18 23:12

Really fun game - I love the sound effects too, haha

lunardust 2025-10-19 12:55

it was fun to play and fast-paced. really enjoyed the moment stealing the AI's pile. It was surprising when I found that the character can be "killed", also love the idea that you can swap with the pile on the edge. great entry!

kiv 2025-10-19 16:03

It was really fun! Great entry

mramaizng 2025-10-19 17:54

Cute game. It was pretty fun once you kinda get the hang of the behavior at different levels of stacks. Well done! There seems to be some cases where the "bottom" seed is taken and a seed is stuck at height 2 or 3 and the AI kinda gets lost when that happens. However I was able to collect the see and get the AI back on track. Really well done!

aqtun 2025-10-20 05:47

Pretty nice game. I like that you have managed to add some nuance to pushing objects on a grid, specifically how you can swap places with `coco de mer` when pushing them towards the edge, and that you can kill your opponent with a large enough pile (and vice versa)

bereg 2025-10-21 21:00

An interesting game packed with cool ideas! First, the fact that your opponent can steal your hard-earned loot really adds dynamism. Plus, the ability to crush your opponent under a pile of nuts is delightfully unusual. Unfortunately, at some point the game starts feeling a bit too chaotic, I even wondered if a fully turn-based approach might have worked even better. The bugs with nuts floating in mid-air aren’t critical. Great result overall!

Good job for compo. Simple idea with a great execution.
