Difficult! but not in a way that made me not want to come back and try again. I would have preferred the camera follow the players character by default as its easy to forget to move as it's primarily a mouse game. That being said I would have liked to see some kind of input reminder at the start as I immediately tried WASD and Arrows before clicking around and finally figuring it out. Would be good for touch screens tho!

@leo115 I totally agree, after I published I loaded it up on my phone and thought it would actually work great on that platform if the UI was scaled properly and the camera worked differently. Thanks for playing!

Nice game. I managed to win at my second run. It is good to see that you did not just choose at fallen tiles randomly, but you made an actual algorithm for choosing the falling tiles.
You should chose another sound effect or reduce its volume, because it really scared me the first time I heard it!

@nales Yeah, the SFX definitely needs another pass. Thanks for the comment on choosing the falling tiles! In the first pass at the gameplay it was just random, but I found that most times I played I got stuck on a single tile and just clicked next turn until I lost or won by chance. After that, I wrote a function to check if removing a given tile would create an "island". It really improved the gameplay a lot.
I was so close! That was a fun challenge. I thought it'd be up to luck, but I'm starting to see the skill expression in the game. A small piece of feedback is that I had to do a double take when I crossed paths with someone and we just switched places, instead of crashing into each other.
I WON IN 24 TURNS :D the concept is very simple but has tactical depth through your positioning. the enemies really add a lot to it! It would be cool if the robots would turn in the direction they move next. In most positions its very hard to know what they will do. Well done! A short burst of intense fun!

@monsieurduck I went through a few iterations on players moving into occupied spaces. I ran out of time to explore something like players bumping into each other when they cross paths. But, when players were prevented from moving into occupied spaces I found the gameplay just had no depth to it so I compromised on players can pass through each other to move to occupied spaces. I'd definitely love to try something different in those scenarios though.
@2thegamechanger I did consider having the bots face their next move position since it's calculated before the player makes their move selection, I just didn't find the time to implement and playtest. If I spend some more time on this project I'll definitely give that mechanic a try. I do feel like it would make player choices more tactical/meaningful despite potentially giving the player a bit of an advantage.
This is incredible. I love how there is the offensive strategy of trying to push people off but that make you play close to others which puts you at greater risk, but you could also just avoid everyone the whole game to survive as well and they are both legitimate strategies. I would suggest to also change the colour of the block that would fall as sometimes it is hard to tell. I also think this could have used a fixed camera that had the average placement of all the blocks so you didn't have to move around the camera as much, that way you could do everything with just the mouse.

@uni-isnor Thanks! I was struggling for a while to make player choices feel strategic. I also agree that I could make the unstable blocks more visible. I spent some time dialing in the shake amount to make it apparent without being distracting but I never considered changing the color, I love that idea. Also, the camera controls seem to be a common theme, I should definitely revamp that to make it more playable.
@rcxa yeah time is very short. Well done! @uni-isnor yeah i love pushing dudes off its so satisfying. I also like how its something you learn to master after a few tries!
This was fun! I like the animations for the robots, and the concept is sound. Good job!
A simple but fun game. I like the animations a lot! I made it 24 turns.
Wow! very good Congratulations
This is awesome, great job, it felt like an evolved mario party mini game, I could see a bunch of randomized levels in the future, with different types of events instead of just loss of a platform like an explosion in a cross pattern, or maybe the block would crack and the next step would break it.
The mechanics of pushing each other back when landed on the same tile totally surprised me! I think this adds another layer of fun into it! so competitive, even tho im playing against an AI! Fun Game! Good job!
So good. It took me a while to figure out when I was going to pass through another player and when I was going to bump them. The chain bumps were awesome hilarious moments. I would love to play this in real multiplayer.

Very nice game and concept! Easy to understand and beautifully done.
It's challenging and fun. The choice of falling tiles makes it less likely to lose because of bad luck, so I can focus on my strategy. And the mechanics of pushing each other back gives me chance to push others off and adds more variety.

Fun game, 22 turns i think that's not bad ! That was not that easy and I finished by being stuck between 2 players and just pray to not fall !
Simple but fun idea! I like that it's not entirely based on luck and you can be a bit tactical and block / push oponents.Snímek obrazovky 2023-10-02 v 10.48.16.png
really love the concept, executed really well the gameplay is very clearly communicated. The visuals are simple but appealing. all around great game would love to see it with some multiplayer!

I won in 24 turns. It's a really fun game! Definitely one I would come back and play sometimes. It would also be fun to play on my phone.

Maybe a bit too reliant on luck and the unstable platforms are a bit hard to see. That said, the game is pretty appealing and pushes you to want to win at least once, something that didn't end up happening even after several retries.

Quite fun, and with enough variation that it's fun to replay. I do wish however there was a bit more done to discourage the player from just moving back and fourth on two safe squares early in the game.
Fun little game, but I found myself in an unwinnable situation a few times but eventually won... when the bots knocked each other off. :-)

Nice job on balancing out luck, and bit of tactics. I liked the maps are random and you could try to go into bigger free areas while trying to make your opponents life hard. For me the camera angle was somehow disturbing a bit, that i could not see the full area of the map. Or to be more specific, you could not see in some directions not even to 2 blocks which was difficult.

I liked it, got to beat it after 5 retries 😁. Pretty fun to move around the enemies and play with luck. Also graphics and audio feedback are clean, making it easy to get into the gameplay loop. Well done!!

Cool mechanic that works well with the theme. It's simple graphics wise, but it communicates very well what's going to happen. Good job!

Cool game and a nice strategy puzzle. I really like low poly style and you did it great. Good job!
Fun game! Played multiple times and tried my best to understand where the red ones where going to move! Good job!
I liked it, even if I got angry once or twice when a robot ejected me because it was going in the same direction as me and I'm not sure I understood everything about how it worked, but the idea is here and it's pretty cool

I managed to clear it! Yeah, it's a very strategic and fun game. I feel like if there was an online multiplayer version of this game, it could become a popular classic. It also seems like it could evolve into a board game, and I'm impressed with its potential for expansion.

Very smart idea! I really liked it. Unfortunately I didn't manage to win. Only one time I survived together with another one. there were three tiles, 2 players, and I got unlucky :( Very nice concept, well done!
Cool idea. The way bumping into others works confused me a bit, I was surprised you can swap places with someone(you move where they are while they move to your tile) without bumping into them. Edit:Also kind of wanted a way to pass a turn... nvm. figured out how to do that, being able to select the tile you're on would have been more obvious.
Nice idea and great execution. It's tough but not frustrating. The controls and gameplay in general were intuitive. I think the game could be improved if it was placed on a single screen, without the need to move the camera.
I loved seeing the other robots push each other off the platform when I ran to safety. I really think this can be expanded into a full casual game. It's fun.
(love that your screenshot is you falling off the platform)

Really addicting game! I kept playing because I was determined to be the last robot standing. I eventually was, in 24 turns!
I felt some "Squid Game"-like vibe. Really liked GFX-style, pretty minimalistic and neat.
Really fun! I would really like to play this multiplayer with friends. I wish it was easier to bump other players though. I didn't expect to just trade places if we tired to bump each other.

I liked your take on the theme and the way you figured out the edge cases with these mechanics. Once you figure out how pushing works, you can send many robots to their doom. 😈
But I felt like in some situations I was heavily reliant on luck, especially in the end game when the playable field forms a single line and there aren't too many moves available. I guess the best strategy would be to eliminate everyone before getting to the end game.
One small gripe is I couldn't find a way to deselect a tile to remain stationary on this turn if you already selected a tile.
Overall, a good puzzle game perfectly fitting the theme! Thanks for sharing your work!

The sound scared me :open_mouth: Very fun to play. There's room for improvement. This game should be fun in multiplayer with friends.

Very interesting game. At first, I was thinking I could destroy the other robots but when I realised I cannot, they started to feel more like "opponents".
I liked the pushing mechanics as a tactical tool. However, in some cases I feel that the outcome of the push was too unpredictable - I did not always end up to a square I left from.
Towards the end of the game, the game feels slightly too out of your control. At that point, the map consists mostly consists of narrow corridors and bad luck can easily end your run.
But overall, I really solid jam game!

Cool game! Was a bit annoying when I had no choice but to jump on a shaking platform. But otherwise really nice, felt like I had some tactics going and it was fun to outsmart the AI's

Thank you to everyone who played the game and thank you to everyone who left feedback. I've been doing game development as a hobby for a while but this is my first time entering a game jam or even putting my work out there. I couldn't be happier with the experience and will definitely be back for future game jams! This has been very inspirational and I appreciate everyone's participation!
I got a win, a loss, and a draw over three playthroughs which is pretty cool. Sometimes the right strategy is just to stand still for a few rounds while the enemies stumble over each other! I thought it was fun. Looks like folks have already pointed out some opportunities for UI improvements (a keybind for "next turn" would be really convenient).
I like it a lot. It's really hard to get something elegant done inside the compo time restrictions but this is perfectly scoped and well executed.

Fun game! I really liked that everything is quite clear on what's going to happen. The fall animation made my day as I was like "Oh no. I lost" but then started laughing as my guy basejumped off the platform.
One thing I would change is that the board will start a little bit more zoomed out and the entire area is visible from the start, since I found myself starting a round and then moving the camera into the center, so I don't have to move it around all the time.

Interesting fun puzzle game. Was there something I could do to influence which tiles would disappear? A cool take on the theme :) Nice one

Great puzzle game~
Nice game, concept is creative. Would be incredibly fun in multiplayer. GG!
Loved this as some of the comments said I could see this working very well on mobile, fun concept and well executed! great job
Neat little game- definitely feels like it could use multiplayer but that might also make the game take super long... Took me 23 turns, which looks to be about the average looking at the rest of the comments, heh.
