Nice to play! Like the visuals and atmosphere)

This was a really cute little game, executed very well! I think the digging was very satisfying and slowly progressing through the levels was fun. Upgrading your gear also felt impactful, which was great! The icons above the upgrade stations were not always very clear to me though, so I did not know very well what I was upgrading. The models were also really cute, as expected from you two of course :D

I also liked the enemies! They added a bit of tension to all the mining. Perhaps you could have even added a few more to make it even more exciting :)

Very well done! Very solid submission!

This game is absolutely fantastic. Very satisfying- the sound design is very very good and the art style is very polished. My favorite game in this jam so far!

I was so excited when I saw you two had participated again! I *loved* Grubbo and played it all the way to the end because the polish was just so smooth. You knocked it out of the park again this time too! This game hits all the buttons that DRG/Minecraft/Core Keeper do while being a soothing little romp underground.

All the little bits of juice carry so much charm (the pitter-patter footsteps, the way the ores fly out of your pack and into the ship as you walk away, the small ding when the drill descends) that it's hard not to have a good time.

I'd love to know more about your development process for making something so polished with such a short turnaround! Is it mostly practice? Do you take advantage of work from previous LD games? (the character controller feels similar to Grubbo, but I can't tell for sure) Would love any advice/recommendations you both can offer in terms of development/art workflows!

Thanks for the lovely game! Well done! :confetti_ball:

@wuppos Thanks for the kind feedback! We planned to have some tooltips for the upgrades but we ran out of time :( I think more enemies would have been cool too, maybe next time :)

@chloew Thank you!

@dylan-shumway Thanks for the kind words! I think it's because we tend to do some things the same way and we get a bit faster each time. We try to use a lot of time efficient solutions like using sinewaves for all the procedural animations, it's pretty quick and looks good enough :) We tend to use the same character controller (When applicable) and we like to keep it all pretty light, so it's easier to hot swap existing systems we have.

Absolutely love the visual style

Loved this one! Incredible visuals and satisfying mining! Feels like Minecraft combined with Link's Awakening

Incredibly beautiful and interesting game!!

Wow this is amazing work, very fun and interesting and great graphics. I can't believe this was done in 72 hours. Very awesome game!

It's just unbelievable. I've been playing this game for a very long time and it's very addictive. I love how levelups is integrated into the drill and all you have to do is mine resources. But the way it's done, the graphics, the sounds, the impact of breaking blocks - it's all done beautifully. I would love to see a sequel to this game in the future, you did a great job!

johneyd 2025-04-10 21:49

Wow! That was awesome! Passed twice. One of the few games that went through to the end! That's great!

deadbydeath 2025-04-12 07:46

The game is awesome and very addictive (stuck and played for more than an hour)! And.. I managed to save Drilda

This came scratched an itch in my brain I didn't know I had LOL the visuals and sound were so nice. The sound of picking up and depositing items.. Beautiful I think you need to tweak the progression scaling though. I really wanted to see the end, but as a jam game with no way to save, it took too long and I ran out of time to keep playing. For a full game though I'm sure the the progression would be fine. My other tweak would be to make the cooldown on the enemy attack longer, and make them stand still for a sec, once those guys got on you it was basically game over. Cheers

garywiss 2025-04-16 23:19

The art is really charming, the game is a bit slow at first but when you upgrade your dig to become faster and harder it become fun and addictive. Congrats !

That was great. The digging and collection mechanics were extremely satisfying. I had everything maxed out by the time I was half way down. It was great the way you start out making tunnels but eventually can just strip mine everything. It would have been nice if I could hold down F on the conversion machine rather than having to keep pressing the button as I ended up using that a lot. I ended up going round twice to see if the bottom was any different.

rhoka 2025-04-17 02:54

You managed to hook into the part of my brain that has to dig and clear as much as possible in a game like this. Very well done. The smoothness and polish of what you have here is very nice. I think the only thing I really found lacking was there was no music. I know there's only so much time in the weekend but even adding 1-2 looping royalty free tracks would help to set the mood. I ended up finding some random dungeon themed chiptune songs that I put on in the background while I played. I did indeed manage to complete the game and save Drillda (as well as get back down again to get the big gem!). It's clear you balanced this around people progressing down through the levels at a regular pace but I ended up meticulously clearing out 100% of the first level was fully upgraded before I even cleared it out. I continued to clear out everything out to the perimeter of bedrock and even started to get lost going back to the ship because I mined out all the rocks. Some sort of difference in ground texture near the ship could help to guide players back if they clear out a lot like me. Also, because I cleared it all out I had enough fuel to go straight to the bottom and almost down to the bottom again without mining any more. Perhaps there's some sort of overall timer, or timer per level, or even certain resources only spawning on lower levels would encourage players to continually work their way down rather than clear out the first level and blast to the end. But I am acutely aware of how hard it is to balance progression of games. Also maybe some indication of when there's nothing left to do because I went down for a third time only to encounter the big gem again. But props to including the secret ending for going down a second time! Overall great job at grabbing my attention for over an hour! diganddelve.png

It looks really amazing! Great work with the lighting. I found the gameplay to be rather boring tho, I'm missing a mechanic/twist of some kind. Really cool UI. Great job!

scrawach 2025-04-17 13:46

Awesome! I love it! Smooth gameplay, art and animations. I'm enjoying the gam. Very cool entry!

sid37 2025-04-17 15:23

A very addictive game! Of course, I wanted some new content to appear at new stages. But I still had fun playing until the very end. And I saved Drilda!

perrin 2025-04-17 17:36

This is great, i played this for like an hour. Super compelling loop executed well. hope you expand it with more content and "depth"

tomas88a 2025-04-17 23:26

3 days?! Seriously?!? The game is so damn cool!!!

maxdrago 2025-04-23 14:40

Very cool and quality game, and considering the game was made in 3 days. Great job!
