Nice art! The art made me laugh. The sounds are present. It's fun to play! But the timer is a bit stuffy, can I just have infinite mode? :) Also got a little frustrated when I found out you can't do 20 hands or 10 tails ahah

This is a really neat mechanic! I like how it can get tough when there are so many shapes to be added. The only thing I'd suggest would be to make the timer more visible. Currently, the text is dark-on-dark, and it might be nice to have a warning message when the time is running low. That's really just a nitpick, though. Nice and creative concept!

@co5monaut Thanks! To be honest, I'm still on the fence about the timer. I decided to go with it, but I added the "Training mode" as a way to let people experiment with the mechanic. Thanks for the feedback!

The concept is smart, and the game super polished. I liked the timer mechanic, added some panic but it will be interesting to see if you can enhance the mechanics with something else!

Tough when you start getting multiple limbs at once! Liked the art style, is the background a wooden texture colored with your game's palette and a dithering effect on top? Looks nice Don't think I could ever summon a demon like this summoningrequirements.png

@imbajoe That's right, it's actually a picture of my coffee table that I dithered in GIMP (2 levels), with the two darkest colors of my palette. Thank you for playing!

Neat idea with some nice polish. Feels good to play and I like the drawings showing the finished demon product. Looks and sounds nice, just needs some music!

This is a great little concept! The cute summoning art is definitely the star for me.

There's a nice squishiness to the sounds, but some of them can be a little piercing on headphones; I found myself turning the volume down to about half my usual to help with that.

Some of the harder challenges feel like they'd work as untimed puzzles - just figure out how to draw this combination of shapes in a valid way at all!

This game is fun! Easy to understand the rules but very quickly becomes tricky when you gotta compensate for many parts. The demons are hilarious, but the 8 arm one is definitely my favorite. Great job!

@brainbetter Sorry about the audio, I just layered several live sounds and stuff made in sfxr without really paying attention to the levels... I still have to learn how to properly do these things. Thank you for the feedback!

VERY creative game concept and really nicely executed. Everything feels responsive and as a player you get instant feedback as to what works and what doesn't work. Great job!

Oh my god this is awesome!!! I am so glad I got to play your game - I saw your comment on mine, and love the direction you took yours. I had thought about using a 'point-to-point vector system' for mine, so I'm really glad someone ran with that idea (and such a talented game designer and artist too!)

This game works so well - the dexterity element, the classic puzzle feeling of making sure you don't 'run out' of adjacent points, and the snappy, satisfying feeling of watching the shapes 'snap' into being. It can't be stated enough how well your art and style fit this game - everything from the gently dithered background, to the pleasingly sketched sticky-notes, to the unified color palette.

And the demons themselves are, of course, ridiculously adorable, and immaculately rendered. I am immensely jealous that you are skilled enough to produce such high quality characters in such a short time. A++

Only one wish - I love the timer, and that you start simple with some easier combos before ramping up - but I wish I could 'start out' at the higher level. E.g., ramp up slowly with a tutorial, but then start again with a new timer, but higher level requests.

Yeah, this is easily one of my favorites, I kept playing over and over just to marvel at it - spectacular work, you should be very proud.

@ugly-robot Haha thanks a lot, you really are too kind! Two funny things:

1. I went with the "connecting the dots" system because I was scared of implementing a system that would recognize what the player drew. I still don't understand how you managed to do it, but I'm impressed!

2. I wasn't sure whether to add the timer or not until the very end. I toyed with the idea of having the player just trying to get the right combination without any time limit, but I felt that it wouldn't really be that interesting... until I saw your game :laughing: (that being said, your system allows for more combinations than mine, so I think it is better suited for a more exploratory kind of gameplay)

Also yeah, I would definitely have the game skip the easier ones if I were to make a more complete version. For the jam though I didn't want to spend time on saving the player's progress.

well played the theme, only problem is that you can not reuse the points that are already involved in the call, so it would be possible to call even more variants of figures = body parts

This is super cool! I really liked how inventive this interpretation of the theme was, and the game was fun to play! There's a lot of strategy in figuring out how to chain the patterns in the best way. Awesome work! Oh, and the portraits of the summoned demons were adorable :laughing:
