Cute graphics and nice music! Its a bit weird that you have to accuse persons directly before hearing the others. Otherwise I think the story plays out nicely. After one additional round I was pretty confident I got the correct deduction.

fnelix 2024-04-15 09:49

I enjoyed the clean & nice look and was looking forward to investigating the situation through conversation. There wasn't that much depth and some filler and to be honest I found the tone to be a bit off. With some work this could be a nice investigative format!

ghettobastler 2024-04-15 10:04

I like this interpretation of the theme. The writing is good, and I think I managed to guess what happened. Nice!

thomas-bringer 2024-04-15 13:09

@oadt @fnelix @ghettobastler Thank you so much for playing! Thanks for the kind words and the constructive criticism!

koro-games 2024-04-16 07:14

fun and engaging experience that keeps you hooked! Great job on creating such an detective game!

Cheater is ███████████

lyamgtt 2024-04-16 10:54

I wasn't expected that game and that was so funny! Well done! The art is great as well :)

thomas-bringer 2024-04-16 14:59

@lyamgtt Glad you liked the humor, thanks!

@koro-games Thank you so much! I don't know if I can read that, but I trust you found the cheater! :fingers_crossed:

maggardjosh 2024-04-16 22:11

Good writing and humor. (Also I think it's cool how the background of the web build lines up with the game window ) Thanks for making this I enjoyed it!

tater-hater 2024-04-17 04:06

What an interesting take on the theme! I liked the format and the UI that you chose. The vector graphic style was also pretty nice as well.

quinn 2024-04-17 04:14

Very cute. Cute graphics. Graphics were round and bouncin'. I laughed a few times. I appreciate it's in browser.

thomas-bringer 2024-04-17 06:09

@maggardjosh @tater-hater @quinn Thanks a lot everyone! Glad you liked the game!

silkworm-sweatshop 2024-04-17 14:03

Really nice art! First time through I dismissed all of them thinking I'd get to make a final decision at the end. If I have a suggestion I think that would work better as you'd get to hear everybody out first. I also think you should be able to ask each student all available questions before moving on instead of having to choose so you're able to gather all the information to work things out.

ellaris 2024-04-17 17:06

I liked the story and the art was nice. I'm not sure about some of the possible questions and seemingly being able to ask only one real question. I'm not sure about how I feel with the lack of a satisfying ending, I had to replay it to gather all the facts and come to a conclusion.

coatline 2024-04-17 19:46

Haha great idea, I didn't really understand that I could or was supposed to deduce exactly who it was but it didn't matter because I was having a good time anyways. I basically just sentenced them to death (and by that I mean watching the EMOJI movie 3 times straight). The graphics were very stylized and consistent but when i played through again, I was spam clicking and the text ended up below the bottom of the screen to where I couldn't click the next choice. But I enjoyed this, great job!

harmadillo 2024-04-17 20:15

Game looks and sound good. Also thought it was mostly well written. Giving the verdict/punishment after taking to each student was odd. I expected to make a decision after taking to all three.

mohammed-kapiel 2024-04-18 12:13

Excellent art style, I think the game looks great. I do want to echo the other comments, I thought I could make a final verdict near the end, but that aside it was an enjoyable read definitely.

wo-ri-gou-le 2024-04-18 12:33

For the first time have I ever seen anyone made the itch page into there game as if it is there for it, I want to express my sincere gratitude on the amazingly well-made grapic, as if is made natually off the webpage itself my esteemed principal

(ps: this feel like me doing the YesPM and Hamphrey is making everybit of his words nonsence

norah 2024-04-18 17:15

That's a super fun game, with an original concept for the summoning theme. I laughed many times at certain dialogues. Congrats

thomas-bringer 2024-04-18 17:27

@silkworm-sweatshop @ellaris @coatline @harmadillo @mohammed-kapiel @wo-ri-gou-le @norah Thank you so much everyone! Most people seem to enjoy the writing and the visuals and I'm really glad about that. Many of you suggested to speak to everyone before making a verdict / being able to ask all questions before making a verdict. It was actually a design decision on my end to force the player to make a decision while not having all the info. Also my goal for the game was to make it more like a fun, not serious, silly experience. Although, I understand that many people liked the deductive aspect, and would have loved to have more access to info. In the end both approaches have their pros and cons, but I take notes of the criticism, so thanks everyone!

@coatline Good job on finding a glitch haha!

thomas-bringer 2024-04-18 17:31

@wo-ri-gou-le may I take a moment to communicate my profound admiration and respect for your exemplary playthrough, esteemed principal

mohammed-kapiel 2024-04-19 11:05

@thomas-bringer I get the design decision tbh, and it might be a matter of expectations, more so than good vs bad. Maybe we just needed to get into the head space of you won't get it in one run, or there is no right or wrong decision. I mean there are no long term consequences, so I wouldn't recommend changing your design decision if intentional, but maybe think of way of making it more obvious to the player.

thomas-bringer 2024-04-19 12:48

@mohammed-kapiel Yeah you're right, in the end I think it's often about communication to the player. So probably next time I'll try to better introduce the concept to the player! Thanks for the comment

pincushion 2024-04-19 16:36

Looks great! Nice choice of colours. The dialogue system was entertaining despite there being a lot of text to read. The characters all had so much personality.

After all that investigation, I wish the game would have confirmed whether or not we punished the right students?

Sequel: Meeting the parents

gabriel-bissonnette 2024-04-19 19:48

Awesome game! It's the first time I was rude to NPC and like others said, sentenced them to death with the emoji movie or baby shark haha The concept was nice and the execution felt really polished. I would've loved to know in the end if I punished the right ones(oh nevermind I punished them all hahah) but the current way is cool too. Overall awesome polished game!! gg

unless-games 2024-04-19 22:13

Nicely polished art and UX and funny writing. I enjoyed the chat-like presentation of the text game formula.

The mystery was well thought out, I just love to have an ending chapter where I can decide about the fate of all students and some confimation about being just.

freamdev 2024-04-21 20:35

Fun game, having to repeteadly click to skip trough single line messages like "..." was a bit tiring, but otherwise a very nice entry. Wish there was a confirmation I kicked the right student out.

kawa-yoiko 2024-04-23 08:24

Cute game ^ ^ I like the Duolingo-style art! I also especially like how keyboard navigation is possible and comfortable. That added to the polished overall presentation created a very enjoyable experience. Replayability is still great even with fixed dialogues; I'm still curious about some of the other options I didn't make.

As others have mentioned, I'd also like some concluding dialogues — although I was already sure about the truth by the second kid, I would be glad to have some more of this funny writing. But it might as well work out for players that haven't run into the actual confession to play it again to find out what was missing.

mibi88 2024-05-03 17:45

An interesting game, the graphics and the audio are really good. I don't see were the theme "summoning" is... is it that the students go to the principal?

joshua-miller-pio 2024-05-03 17:47

Beautiful art work i loved the whole mood that was set, definitely agree with @kawa-yoiko about the duolingo-styled art but i love it its awesome, you guys definitly deserve more votes!

lize-v 2024-05-03 17:59

Like the art style. Thanks for making.

vgxmecrew52 2024-05-03 18:17

played through it one time... i think it is intended to be replayed (this is even kind of easy to do from within game) but... i honestly hoped there will be some score on how well you did (can be as funny as the punishments, like... i think hector needs to be punished extra, fatima... i didn't like her character but she needs her test scored D, and kevin... needs to be repriminded and so there can be like 5-10 scores depending on if you've got it right... told to you by the teacher...buddy like an encoragment\disaproval) ig maybe i am wrong... so it's very well made (considering it was made by one person) interactive story... tho game elements are unfinished imo... it seems like an interactive movie BUT very good, idk what to say... except some of those jokes and story elements are taken in some part from real life i assume... i did this ig so maybe why i think so. BUT it seems like game is mocking someone... it doesn't have a twist that will make this an unique story BUT maybe i am stupid & missed it & rated game like a retard on (that i've had). sorry

codmen4000 2024-05-03 20:28

It's no mind-bending puzzle but everything there is super polished. From the way the characters jiggle when they talk, to the branching dialog, to the way the game seamlessly loops! It's all super polished!
