LD55 — Summoning

I💰I💎I⚔️I by BoltKey 2024-04-18T12:00:37Z

It takes a bit to get used to, but honestly it's very interesting. Feels fairly polished as well so great job  One minor thing I would have liked, is a button to restart instead of refreshing the page, when I feel fairly deffeated and just want to try again.

Cosmic Misadventures by vidarn 2024-04-18T12:49:56Z

Absolutely brilliant game. The art is great, the sounds and story are adorable and overall vibe is very well put together and very stylish. The puzzles might have been a bit easy, but I like the fact that it doesn't take too long to figure out, pretty intuitive.

Necromancer Survival by Vegevan 2024-04-18T13:03:29Z

I like the fact that you went for an vampire survivors like. For a jam it's very well done, I do believe that the enemy stats need balancing, felt very tanky very fast, and I felt like zombies were useless, mostly relied on the scythe. I do think it would have fit the theme more if the only option you had were summons, could start with one zombie around and get more later. But overall very solid game, fun gameplay loop.

Skelly-Tons by Jajo 2024-04-27T10:16:57Z

It was a fun experience. The things I missed the most though were feedback on damage, also I think the player needed to have a mana to cooldown as otherwise I can spam summon. The summons felt more like projectiles than summons, would have been nice to have them stick around a bit more, but I understand that can be challenging to implement. Overall very solid and fun submission

High School of Conjuration by fumybulb 2024-04-16T17:25:25Z

Very cute, very polished. Fun puzzle platformer. Great job

Principal's Office by Thomas_Bringer 2024-04-18T12:13:27Z

Excellent art style, I think the game looks great. I do want to echo the other comments, I thought I could make a final verdict near the end, but that aside it was an enjoyable read definitely.

Principal's Office by Thomas_Bringer 2024-04-19T11:05:42Z

@thomas-bringer I get the design decision tbh, and it might be a matter of expectations, more so than good vs bad. Maybe we just needed to get into the head space of you won't get it in one run, or there is no right or wrong decision. I mean there are no long term consequences, so I wouldn't recommend changing your design decision if intentional, but maybe think of way of making it more obvious to the player.

Infinite Infight by QuadApe 2024-04-16T17:52:20Z

One of the best games I played this jam, great work. I love the concept, having them battle whilst avoiding the fight is a fun game loop. I also really like the blood decals and how gory the scene looks when I'm done.

Capture the Princess by vidim888 2024-04-16T17:22:19Z

Great game. Short but very precise, you were efficient with your time and I like that about the game. And as ancient as saving a princess is, it feels oddly refreshing doing it in the game.

Souls 'R Us by Aarimous 2024-04-26T21:58:25Z

Great game  well done and pretty fun.

archmage by OldDog 2024-04-16T17:44:52Z

Great game. I love the art style and the animations. The gameplay reminds me a lot of Throne fall, I assume it was a decent part f the inspiration, but I like how you made it work with the theme.

Helldrivers by torte478 2024-04-16T18:19:51Z

Took me a while to fully grasp, has a lot of individual moving parts, but overall quite fun.

Summoner Under Attack by Ilari 2024-04-16T18:48:40Z

Very fun and excellent art style. Could have benefited from some music, but understandably I'm sure time was tight. Also would be great if the movement speed and the wave spawning was faster, felt a little slow. Overall very solid submission

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-16T17:28:50Z

Thank you @secretjuice sadly it lacks a lot of polish and yes is very easy to cheese, I even removed the mana limit so you can technically spawn as many units as you like :joy: I will patch it out and balance the units in the future, during the jam basically what I could muster is an RTS tech demo of sorts  Hope you check it out later when it's more feature complete and enjoy it  Also for now added a controls section to the description and will try to make it more intuitive in game.

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-16T17:30:44Z

That's great to hear @wilverine ,spread the canons and angels :joy: The Cemeteries have an orange circle to help distinguish them, but I would have liked to add an on screen pointer as well to help as I imagine it can be confusing, especially in the compo submission version.

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-16T17:55:37Z

Thank you @rolly. I fell in the age old pit of feature creep, I'd argue it's still incomplete :joy: but I have grown fond of it and hope to keep patching it. I will of course keep the compo version for reviews though, but encourage people to give the newest patch a play, just for fun not ratings.

@kirass Thank you so much

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-17T06:14:19Z

@olddog Praise be to Godot :joy:. I did some optimizations to my tile map (At some point it struggle to move more than 20 units), but overall the engine does the heavy lifting and I can think of ways of improving it in the future. I agree about the fighting, I would love to add more feedback, like flash on damage, attack animations and sounds.

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-18T05:55:28Z

@themaskedman hate to shatter the vibe, but I didn't know what Paradise Lost is , but I'd still love to make a "Conquer Hell" expansion, I mean why else have angels :joy:

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-20T15:58:06Z

@pebkac Thank you  Ambitious yes, but also foolish tbh :joy:

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-27T07:43:14Z

@hadik Thank you. I agree if I had time, most probably would add proper feedback, like color changing the sprite or animations. Glad you like the atmosphere and what is here, would love to build upon it and make it into a more complete experience.

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-04-27T07:44:23Z

@torte478 Thank you so much  glad you appreciate my programmer art :joy:  I tried to make up the lack of talent with a consistent color and style at the very least.

Vuno: The Adventurer's Log by Mohammed Kapiel 2024-05-03T15:31:38Z

@designernap Thank you  That is a valid way to play, however you should be able to move units. Unless it's a bug, maybe after spawning you tried to drag a selection box right away, that just spawns a unit as I didn't have time to cancel the spawning logic when you start selecting. So you need to right click to stop spawning then you can drag a selection box. Also didn't have time to implement single unit selection, so you can only box select. But what's important is that you found a way to experience the game, so glad you could

Eyesore by Liquid 2024-04-16T19:20:04Z

Very beautiful game and the core loop s engaging, farming slimes to then summon eyes to defend. Overall great base to build upon in the future, great work.

The Dank Sorceress by TheMaskedMan 2024-04-16T18:08:40Z

Fun game, although I must admit was a bit too difficult for me to muster a win :joy: enjoyed losing though and I liked the mechanic of them turning against you, although the 1st time I was confused, until I reread the description and figured out the normal generation rate vs. the maintenance cost.
