this game really made me switch my critters
My favorite so far :)
I gotta be honest... I'm ass at this kind of game, so I didn't get to enjoy much of it. I really liked the art and the audio though, and the main mechanic looks interesting (even though I wasn't able to use it).
Looks and sounds amazing! Gameplay works well once you get the hang of it, creatures have interesting patterns to figure out. The dungeon is too big imo, I felt like I was clearing way too many rooms before finding a room with something meaningful in it. Overall a very solid game, good job!
Amazing graphics and gameplay feels really nice. I think I couldn't figure it out entirely so only survived a few rooms but it was fun. Great work !
Very fun! The fighting system is super effective, I enjoyed my time cleaning up difficult rooms. Maybe felt a little too long for its gameplay variety, but enjoyable nevertheless, loved how the final challenge is getting all the way back in one go, and if you were diligent cleaning up it will be easier :) Fantastic job!

The game looks amazing. It's soooo polished for a gamejam game. I'm impressed!
It's so fun to play, I like when there is multiple bugs and you need to move and hit in a certain tempo to kill them, such great flow. And animals with different feature makes the game feels complete and more innovative.
You manage to make a big game for a LD! Very cool design. My first try was really hard, but the second one was easier with more spreadout checkpoints ❤
All 5 🤩🤩
I think this is the most I ever played in a jam game!
Everything just perfect!
Cool idea with nice level design! I struggled a bit initially but I then started to get the hang of it. Congrats!
I loved it, very relaxing and appealing. It really wanted to finish it even if it is quite long. Congrats for that!
However I think some bug prevented me from reaching the end: I arrived in a room where you need the bat to get a new animal (a bird? not sure as I did not get it). At that time I did not have the bat. Later, I came back with the bat but the other animal had disappeared so I could not get it and so I could not get the fourth animal as well (as it requires this missing animal, I guess).
Also, it took me some time to realize that it is possible to attack the enemies: I first thought (for quite some time and some tries) that you had to avoid them by understanding there patterns. It is only when, by doing a mistake, I run in some of them that I discovered that it is possible to kill them.
I didn't quite get the mechanics of the game. The fights look similar to crypt of the necrodancer but it looks like the fights are not really working the same way. I managed to skip some critters and fight a few of them but I still don't get when you are attacking without them fighting back and when they do. I didn't manage to get past the first few rooms, though. I wish there was some kind of tutorial or a better explanation of the mechanics
Nice and complete package! Took a bit until I learned how to deal with each enemy but I got there. Each animal having it's own little gameplay trait was a nice touch (never figured out the birds speciality though, unless it just flies like the bat). Sound was a bit screwed up for me on the web version (playback got progressivly slower and slower) but the game ran fine besides that.
It's very cute, but I had trouble figuring out how to play. In the very first room I entered, I was immediately cornered by two enemies and just died. Eventually I figured out you can kill enemies if you attack them at the right time, but it was a bit confusing and hard to figure out. I just kept dying a lot. I didn't get far enough to find any of the other animals :(
This game was pretty fun! I loved the art and the audio, and it was pretty fun to figure out how to play around the different creatures. However, after a while the audio really badly distorted for some reason which made it a bit more grating. Additionally, while I appreciated the different animals, sometimes the random selection would really just screw you into not getting useful critters for a very long time.
But all ni all I had a really good time playing this game! Great job!
Overall sweet game! Reminds me of the good ol' rust bucket days <3
One of my fav games! The game design is excellent. Getting to know the different enemies and strategies was a blast. I love how the enemy's moves are really tied to the kind of insect they are like the caterpillar and the snail. The zelda-like aspect was super enjoyable, too. Simply perfect!
Seems like a complete game. I did have trouble restarting the game on the Itch build after dying, but that was just a simple page reload to solve. Music was nice, gameplay seemed simple. I played for about 3-4 minutes with just clearing rooms and once finding a healing cube thing. However, I never saw any other creatures to switch into. Looking at some of the other reviews, I guess I just needed to play longer. It could be nice to show the player a new creature a little earlier in the game, just to demonstrate that part of the game before possibly moving on to another game, believing that they had seen all the content or mechanics already.
very fun game. puzzling how to kill each enemy. but the way from the last position to the first position is so far away though. I have to circle back many many room to get to exit.

Really cute game and the little animal flourishes with small unique interactions was pretty neat. Definitely hit a bunch of dead ends going about, but still got through and beat everything in 16 minutes. I also had the weird audio distortion issue playing itch.io browser, but it added to the game in a weird way I felt (like you were going deeper and deeper in the labyrinth and getting lost). Great job!
Absolutely love the art, the game is so cute and clever, well done !
I am extremely bad at this game, even though I have played and beaten Necrodancer.
Either way the art style is very polished and cute, and I appreciate the frequent checkpoints. Creative and well done!
Wow, made it. Had much fun in figuring out the patterns of the animals. I first thought the game was too difficult, but then I realised there were clever checkpoints which kinda save my butt a few times :stuck_out_tongue: Very addictive. Small remark: the more you respawn, the jankier the sound starts to become. Thanks for the fun experience. youwin.png
Probably my favorite game in this jam so far! The loop is so satisfying, I like how enemies have different patterns, I like having to reach the checkpoints and I love the vibe!
- Music slows down until it becomes... Noise. Needs to be fixed :) - Holding buttons to respawn/retry needs to have a visual, I kept releasing before the fadeout ended! - The game could really benefit from a tutorial or helping tooltips!
Brilliant game, no major pointers or comments except the already mentioned audio bug. Amazing work!
I sunk a lot of time into this one! Really enjoyable. I haven't played other games like this so I don't know if this is a feature or a flaw, but it felt a bit cheap that I could play my move by hitting into a wall (so, standing still) and the other creatures would just move towards me to be slaughtered. It was more fun when I self-imposed trying to move strategically to get them.
Anyhoo, great game!
Woohoo, I made it! Really nice turn-based combat, as a necrodancer veteran I felt really confortable with it. Took me a few retries to realize I can RESPAWN and not always RESTART. I collected the cute animals and won the game! I only wish there was slightly more variation between the critters, e.g. different attacks or stronger vs different types of enemies in different ways. Nontheless, great entry!
Very cool submission! I wish that the swapping mechanic got introduced earlier. I got to the rabbit and died before I figured out how it worked.
Once again I love the idea. I still really like your art style. Great Job !
I might have played it too much
Whew, that was tricky! I ended up running back for that respawn spot so many times because I'd die like 5 rooms later and go all the way back 😅
I had a good time with it! Super cute art, and I loved the way the different critters worked and the different enemies moved. It made each room an interesting puzzle :D
I never used the bunny's ability lol aside from accidental uses, and I didn't notice what the third one (bird?) did aside from fly. I did catch that the rat could eat the snails (or it was perfect timing?) and the owls heal when killing an enemy (OMG I LOVE THE OWL!!!)
reminded me a lot of pokemon mystery dungeon but more focused on the movement (ah and i guess necrodancer, I'm pretty bad at that game, probably because i got too used to running around in pokemon mystery dungeon which is not how you play necrodancer or this game). The movement can be punishing if you're not careful, which makes me kind of want an undo (like if I'm rushing through an empty room and then get to a room with enemies and die), but was nice finding the friends and seeing their abilties. I like the bat (pretty sure it is a bat not an owl) since I can get health back. I'm wondering if I happened to get to the corners in the right order, or if the level design or game made it always work.
nice animals though and nice job!
