This Game are SO Insane!
Very cool. Mi proebali
Visual is perfect, love this a lot, art work is stunning
Very good art-work but camera is strange (for my opinion)
Often getting stuck when jumping from lower to higher space, nice art tho
The art is amazing, at least as still images. But in a game, everything is a bit cluttered, it's very difficult to tell what's in on the players level, or the background. What's dangerous, and whats decoration. More defined outlines would help, and blurred and/or lighter color backgrounds. Collission detection wasn't great, but it's a jam game. Turned out better than mine did.
Creative concept, atypical approach to classic platforming and simply fantastic art design. GREAT JOB!
Interesting idea for the game. Art goes so well with the theme. Great job!
The art looks great! It's only hard to play with the camera being so slow.
Love the art style! Visuals are stunning. Took a bit to get used to but overall a wonderful game!
wow! this is a pice of art
Guys, I hope you're getting closer to escaping from Wonderland! But to do that, you need to complete the tutorial! We explained all the points there that you struggled with. Don’t forget—you can use double jumps to escape from the Queen. Also, remember that not all cards behave the same way. You cannot recruit defenders into your army when they are holding their shields close. Because of this, it may seem like the colliders aren’t working. But all you need to do is wait until they move their shields away, or attack them from behind (they don't have shields there). And a little secret- don't recruit archers into your army, just ignore them. Remember—the Queen will catch up with you sooner or later, as the camera starts moving faster over time. The tutorial will become your best friend in our game. Thank you so much for your feedback! We really appreciate it!
Nice infinite runner game with charming artwork! I struggled a bit with the double jumps at first (I keep getting caught on platform edges), but I eventually got the hang of it.
As for the level design, I personally feel like certain enemy placements are a bit unfair and can catch first-time players off guard. For example, placing an off-screen spider right over a mushroom where you're set to bounce into it, or being shot at by an off-screen red spy card while standing near the edge of the screen. Eventually you get used to it and accept being wary of random bouncy mushrooms and being near the edge of the screen as part of your strategy.
Oops, gotta get moving now, or the Red Queen will have my head! Once again great job on your game!
Really cool idea, I like the stylistic choice to have low-frame rate animations for the cards but it's also a little distracting. Also the level scrolled so slowly to the right at the start of the level htat by the time I could see enough to play/move, I was already dead. Really cool idea and lovely music too!
I like de graphics
Graphics are impressive for a game jam!
I really liked the style of the game, it's just great and the game itself is amazing)
Nice! First of all, graphics are stunning. Now I don't know, I'm not so fan of the overall game feel though. Mainly, the platformer physics are slightly weird (ex: player getting stuck) and the combat lacks impact (suggestions: add sfx, flashing white, screen shakes, ...) It's a shame cause it's clear you got amazing talent in the team, but the power of the game is not unleashed at its true potential in my opinion--with such graphics and animations you could be a really amazing game! But still congrats cause I might be a little harsh I mean game is still really really cool you should be proud!
Beautiful art <3
Very nicely done, congrats
The art is amazing, I really dig it. And the overall mood is super nice. There are some collision bugs, but I enjoyed playing it nevertheless!
I couldn't get past the first few spiders, after many attempts. The camera seems to be lagging behind, and then suddenly the ennemy appears, but it's too late i'm already dead? Love the graphics, and the music is nice and soothing, bit sad i couldn't experience the game properly :/
I absolutely adore this visual aesthetic. It's like the pages of a fairytale come to life. I also really like the music that plays in the background, it fits the vibe really well. Unfortunately, I had a lot of issues playing the game. The attack seemed to just teleport enemies right on top of me? Also, some of the longer jumps I would end up getting stuck on the edge of the next platform and would have to fall down and restart. I wasn't able to finish the game due to these issues. I wish I could have played through further though because I truly do like the idea here and am a huge fan of anything Alice in Wonderland related.
Graphics are impressive, the music is also nice
Great game and cool art! Had some cool ideas about gathering the army of cards.
Some more playerfeedback on hits would make this even better since i didn't immediately notice when i got hit most of the time. Other than that great entry!
I love the theme interpretation with Alice in Wonderland, she does becomes a tiny creature and is surrounded by them! The detailed graphics are beautiful, and seeing so many details is rare in a Ludum Dare game. This is probably the best menu screen I've seen so far, lol, however, the score system feels a bit off-putting considering the rest. The projectiles feel a bit slow, but that slowness adds a unique challenge. The health system is really unique, and I love it! The music is phenomenal; it's a shame I can't rate you on that, and it truly adds to the atmosphere. In the end, it is a good game! Well done!
Great artwork, but the gameplay didn't feel nice. Things that could improve: - Feedback when bullets hit - Feedback when taking damage - Controls felt floaty, but can be argued to be in theme - Camera felt a bit off, don't know how to describe it
Good effort!
The game is real fun after grasping its mechanics! In my opinion the tutorial should be mandatory so that players don't lose out on vital information! I dig the artstyle and overall vibe of the environments and enemies. As others said, it might need a bit of polish regarding physics and feedback for things happening, but it's a solid base for something great!
Awesome visuals and challenging enough to keep it fun. Very good entry!
This game looks amazing, however that the movement is really floaty and slow. As well, the bullets are slow and would like the monsters to indicate that they take damage.
I'm not good at platformers, forgive me. Still, I made some progress after many tries. As others have mentioned, the graphics are very good. I like the depiction of Alice, especially. And Alice is perfectly suited for a "tiny creatures" theme. I also like the gain-an-ally feature.
It's funny, I've been obsessively watching "Head Over Heels" by the Go-Go's; it seems you wrote the theme game for this song. Good job, everyone!
Great jam game, I got a sense of whimsy and wonder! I think it would really elevate the experience if the player could sense more feedback or impact from their actions or their enemy's. The art was fantastic, probably the best I've seen so far this LudamDare. Well done to all of you :)
Great game. I really love the music and art, but I think the movement needs some work. It feels too "floaty". Still a very good entry!
The presentation of this game is so nice and unique. Some of my favourite features are the animated elements in the background like the spilling cup of tea and the pocket watch. It adds to that magical whimsical atmosphere, and them being in low frame rate keeps them all very stylish.
I also appreciate the inclusion of the tutorial, the mechanics are very unique to the game, so the extra time dedicated to explaining them not just on the LD page but the game itself is a nice level of polish and foresight that I don't take for granted. Ironically, the pacing of the tutorial is a lot faster with the free roaming camera, and that makes it feel a bit more frantic and exciting, I would love to see a version with this set up.
Echoing a lot of the feedback from before, not knowing when you get hit or when an enemy gets hit makes keeping track of things a bit difficult, specially in the sections where Alice goes behind some elements like the crystals, but the enemies in front can still hit you.
That issue aside, I still really like the overall atmosphere and the recruiting (and betrayal) mechanic did add an extra bit of depth, and it gives some design space and leniency for the auto scroller to be faster without it feeling unfair.
Great entry! -Boat
The art is just gorgeous, and it combines well with soothing music which creates a magical atmosphere, and it's curious to see someone from the jam also used Alice in Wonderland as their inspiration after seeing the theme! I know in mine it's not nearly that obvious, but it really was one of the stories I was thinking about while creating it (and there even is a spot on bookshelf with the book itself) so I feel like we are on the same wave in a sense with a theme and appreciate your take on it!
Besides the theme, I wanted to point out how graphical style looks quite unique due to effects that add texture to the models, and animation adds a lot (on Alice, on cards - it looks smooth and pretty). Background looking like a book illustration is a perfect touch.
Quite honestly, I have to confess I was pretty bad in this game ;_;
I did complete the tutorial (which is a great addition, quite thoughtful!) but in real game I died all the time and couldn't get very far even after multiple tries ^^' That's not to say it's a downside of the game, I might be just not very good at it, and with practice I could get better (I was covering a little bit more ground with each try!)
(Blocks suddenly falling down while I am standing on them were a surprise for me though! ;_;)
The only nitpick I have is the very beginning of the run; the camera pans a little bit *too* slowly there, so first few tries I was just confused (died to enemy I didn't see yet, try to move into the "wall" of the screen towards unknown, fell off, etc etc).
Besides that, I have to say it's quite a feat to complete a pretty polished beautiful game with gorgeous main menu AND a tutorial - in only 3 days!
such a cool looking game! i really liked your take on the theme, and the art attracts attention — the cover image immediately makes you want to play :)
i only wish that the gameplay was a bit more forgiving and gave you more control (or at least a feeling of control :D ) on the game: at the beginning, for example, the camera moves too slow for you to see the enemy, but the enemy can already attack you. sometimes you jump to the platform and manage to stick to it, but it doesn't give you the ability to move on...maybe it would be cool to give the player some time to ajust to the controls and all mechanics, and give some room to make mistakes (like with jumping), but still proceed :)
wish you best of luck!
loved the visual choices, pretty fun overall, keep it up!
The visuals are nice and the tutorial is incredibly helpful. I wish there was a bit more feedback when you're hitting enemies and when you get hit - it sometimes feels like I die out of nowhere. The jumping doesn't feel great, it's a little too floaty, and the base camera position feels a bit low. Overall though I like the premise and the ideas there, great job!
Nice game!!!Very interesting aspects in game !!! Looks Wonderful 10/10!!!
The game looks very very nice. I like the moving backgrounds and the overall style. My impressions of the gameplay are mixed. On the one hand, I like the idea and I really wanted to move further and further every time. On the other hand, I really missed some kind of visual and sound impact from hitting enemies and my own injuries. It's very easy to miss the moment when you're on the verge of death, because you didn't have time to look at how many hearts you lost, and you had no other indicators. But the overall impression of the game is good! Good job!
Wow! The game is so wonderful! Keep making games!
Art is absolutely stunning!
Agree with comments above, I think more visual feedback when enemies were hit will help and may be something in visuals for falling platforms, not sure, but it looks like you can understand that the platform is not stable only when you're already on it and it's trembling. Also camera movement mechanic feels a bit clunky, because it's possible to get out of the screen using mushroom and double jump both on the right side and on the upper side. May be if there was some kind of enemy on the left who is constantly chasing Alice it will be a little bit more obvious, why on one side it's okay to leave the screen and on the other not. About controls: for me was a bit inconvenient to use wasd and space with one hand, will be cool if it was possible to shoot and jump with one hand (e.g. shooting was on X) and another hand for arrows. Maybe control scheme from cuphead would be applicable for your game.
But still really cool mechanics, really cool artstyle, hope you will continue work on this game after voting period, would love to play more!
very beatiful and interesting game
it seems like a game with quite nice potential, if you want to develop it, I think that your success will be too, what matters is not to let your hands down
