Great game!
Nice! I had fun playing this one
I'm a fan of the style of game you made, and the game itself is fun. Shooting incoming projectiles and spaceships is a mechanic that has been shown to work with many arcade games, and is in itself fun. I really like how you also have your gun act as a shield, so it isn't simply about aiming, but also being sure to defend yourself. This was done well.
As for the enemies, I felt that after the meteors and the UFO, they began to feel really difficult. The space crafts that would fly in and zig zag back and forth, for example, moved too fast for me to skillfully hit them. It felt much more of a random chance I may hit them, rather than me hitting them because of skill. The enemies that shot 3 bullets in a grid at you were also a bit tough, because they were shooting my planet from all directions. If you want to continue to go in the direction of having your gun be your shield, I recommend balancing the game with that in mind, that the player will be unable to block from all directions.
Regardless though, I like what you were going for. I think if you wanted to, you could totally expand upon the mechanic and the game to end up with something interesting and fun. Thank you for your submission :), good work!
That's a lot of fun. There were a lot of simple mechanics layered to make some complex situations. I could definitely see myself playing waaaay too much of this!
Thanks all for the feedback and the kind words, it means a lot! :)
@william-nomikos I see what you mean, while making the game I also realized that the difficulty curve increased drastically after the first level. I think the problem was that I made the enemies last, so I didn't have that much time to properly test them and balance them out, but still thanks for the feedback! if I ever expand upon this game I'll keep what you said in mind :D
This was pretty fun!! I almost finished level 2 but the dodging ships were too difficult for me :)
Well done!
Thanks for playing! yeah I should have made them a bit easier, especially considering they get introduced in the second level :p
Overall I like the game nice graphics and sound the only thing I wish was diffrent maybe the gameplay size cuz I would jump out of the game area and the game didn't track my mouse.
Ah yeah, I think that is a technical bug on the side of unity, but I should have accounted for that as well. Either way thanks for playing!
Surprisingly fun game! The enemies were quite imaginative, especially the last type of UFO which followed your cursor. It made the gameplay very interesting.
Cool little game! Good decision to let the player restart from the same level where they lost the game, I struggled with the last wave from lvl 2. Overall, fun game with good replayability, an audio upgrade will be beneficial in my opinion (more sci-fi-ish :D)
Was surprised how fun this actually was! A lot of enemy types and levels too, you got a lot done, good work!
Funny and nice game!
Finally got the time to test your game.
Great job. Smooth movements, nice and simple gameplay. Actually had fun playing this and I somehow really enjoyed the sounds :D
Nice game! Fun simple controls, and a lot of polish in the effects of the game. My only comment about the gameplay is that it's somewhat counterintuitive for me to run TOWARDS the bullets, when I've been trained in pretty much every other game that you should run AWAY from them. Not sure how you'd fix that, though, unless you made the character look more like a big shield or something.
@congusbongus Thanks for the kind words
@alxander Yeah near the end [ending of level 2, level 3] I made a big difficulty spike, looking back I probably should have toned the difficulty down a bit but I guess lesson learned for next time :)
@gimblll I really appriciate your kind words, Thanks
@hexa3 Thanks for the comment!
@groggi I'm happy you enjoyed it! and thanks for the nice comment!
@johnfn Well, that was the intetion, but I didn't know how to make it look like a shield without ruining the Space atmosphere :p
I found this game simple but fun. I wish there was some other thing to do though, just moving the mouse around felt simplistic even though it's quite challenging to aim and block appropriately.
Having the difficulty spike right at the end of a long level is really annoying, since I have to fight through all of the relatively easy parts just to get one more chance at the hard part. Perhaps if each wave was its own individual level that'd feel more fair?
The UI in the center was for some reason placed behind the planet, making the wave progress bar less useful and the success screen almost completely unreadable.
Good audio and graphics made for a nice experience. Game was pretty difficult despite the smooth controls ♥
Good to see 3D models in a 2D game! Good controls and overall, a fun experience. I like the how you used your movement mechanic to block projectiles as well, and the wave system was a welcome surprise! Good job!
I really like the aesthetic in this one, and the idea of a game where you need to get yourself hit to protect something is pretty novel. All of the analytics when the game ends make it feel really polished. There are a few issues, though. I'm sure you're already aware, but the scoreboard draws behind the planet, making it unreadable. Also, the difficulty escalates really severely. At several points, there were multiple bullets coming in simultaneously making it impossible to intercept both. This game has a lot of good, though, especially in polish and enemy variety. I had a lot of fun, good job.
I have to agree, the game is polished and very smooth on the controls! The fast moving ships took me by surprise and panicked a bit  . A really nice entry, checked your website as well. Keep it up!
The game is really enjoyable and fantastic... Love to play... Love the controls... :metal:
A fun take on a classic concept. Controls were easy though I found myself missing the ability to shoot on command by clicking a button. Good variety of enemies.
@notgreat Thanks for playing the game! Yeah that was by design, at first I wanted to make it so that when you press a button it shoots, but I decided that for this game it would be better if it had simple mouse controls, but if I ever expand this game, I might add more things for the player to do.
And yeah playtesting it again I do see what you mean and I agree. I shouldn't have made it so difficult, especially at the end :p
And as for your final point about the UI being behind the planet, that's actually really strange and it shouldn't happen? when I play it it seems fine to me, are you reffering to this or are you talking about something else? It might be a glitch with the different browsers 05_11_2020-03_28_08---bfSGwPAh---firefox_w.png
@mister-collette yeah, the difficulty was a bit too high. I would probably make it a bit more fair if I could re-do it. Still thanks for giving the game a go, it means a ton :D
@quinn-patrick yeah the scoreboard glitch is really weird as it doesn't happen on my computer. Anyway, yeah the difficulty did scale up a bit too much. And about your last point about the bullets coming it at once: I did want to try and make it so that the player can block all of the bullets, but it was more of a technical challenge then a design one :p, still thanks for playing the game and for giving valuable feedback :D
@baubau Aw thanks for checking out my website, and thanks for the kind words about my game as well, I appriciate it
@abdulla-shuhair Thanks for giving the game a go, I'm glad you found it fun! :D
@claytonrumley yeah, originally there was supposed to be a button that you could click to shoot, but I realized that the player would probably end up holding down the button either way, so I decided why add that extra step to make it so that the player has to hold down a button to shoot? Anyway thanks for providing feedback and for trying my game
@sinci1 That looks very different from what I was seeing. I tried it in both firefox and chrome, it happens on both.bug.png
