Reminds Me of doom, it seems pretty cool
I really enjoyed this! I really love 90's fps games, this really has that spirit. Besides, the heavy music and mechanics work really well. May feel a bit too hard at start but after retrying a couple times you overcome it by learning the level and stuff. Would be nice to have an option to increase the player turning speed, or a "Press shift to fast turn". Either way very enjoyable, good job!
Nice doom like with idea in relation with the theme, good job !
I like the music and sounds, and the sprites are pretty good. I encountered a few glitches though. Eventually the enemies stopped following me. It was a bit inconsistent or unclear how to save someone, and once I did save someone, I was able to continue saving the same person by shooting them with the healing gun until I won.
Doom nostalgia. The music was great and fitting the atmosphere. I don't really get the point of other weapons (such as the shotgun, dealing 1 damage too?). The victory screen is a little bit harsh  Great game, NEED MORE LEVELS!
I have a strange probleme. It's like my key A and S are still pressed. I can't play it easily. But I love the idea.
Really good job
I don't see this type of game every day, this was refreshing. Sounds are very cool, especially the music. The principe of not killing zombies is interesting. The little default that I can found is that we need to go backward all the time to avoid to be hit by zombies.
@elymination omg... did you beat the game? really sorry about that!! we are horrible persons hahaha...
we were in an Argentina's jam too, and we had to deliver this game one hour before than ldjam... at the last minutes we realized that we didn't had a victory screen, nor a main menu (even tho' our great musician made a neat music for it... in fact, we have a neat credits screen song that we never get to use D:)... I rushed to add some screens just for the sake of completeness... but... yeah, we ended up with a sucky victory screen hahaha
@thebreakfast OMG... that's a Mr. Exploit that you discover there! thanks a lot for the feedback
@absoluteds that's a weird bug O__O gonna try to reproduce it... is it always like that? or does it got stuck at some point? also... are you on windows?
i think swapping to the healing gun to transform the weak zombies back into people is a cool and unqiue mechanic, but i feel the way it's implemented serves to make fighting the zombies less satisfying, especially when fighting them in a group, which can be a little tedious. Maybe it's best reserved for a less common savable zombie rather than all of them? in this case, you could make it into more of an event too.
i do think the game is fun though, the weapons are satisfying to use and i think the theatre setting is cool; reminds me a little of duke3d.
(for those who had the constant turning problem, i had it too until i unplugged my controller)
:)
The game is interesting, cool to see a doom inspired game once in awhile.
I do feel that the control to make the player move can be kind of annoying to use, especially when fighting a horde of zombies that chases you, I think I would've preferred mouse movement for this game.
The game also drags on with nothing really changing, I think added challenge as you cure the zombies would've been cool to see (though it is a jam game so I don't blame you).
Either way, nice job on the game!
The doom astetic is nice, Last years Global Game Jam my friend i did a similar Doom Clone. I like the retro feel of the graphics, and the music. The concept of shooting them to heal was interesting. The controls just felt a bit off. it was pretty difficult to control in the midst of the action.
So, no one else seems to be mentioning this but when I try to play the game it constantly moves turns to the right. It's like I've got the right direction constantly held down and the player spins in place. I can still move forward and holding to the left will turn me left until I let it go but I can't really navagae or aim properly.
The graphics and the music is really good. The gameplay idea is pretty good, but the controls makes the game really difficult to play.
@disthron I've heard of that bug, but I couldn't reproduce... it seems like Unity is detecting a gamepad wrong D: unplugging all gamepads should work
@pr00thmatic Yea, that was one of the first things I tried. I even tried unclugging my mouse and keyboard.
This was wicked fun. I'll probably coming back to this one to play more in the future. Would love to see this on Steam someday. Fanatastic fantastic job.
Enjoyed it! Had trouble finding ammo but I think that's the point. Really impressed to see such a graphically refined game in the jam! Cool that you can strafe with Q and E too. Good game, well done!
Really cool doom style shooter. I think the process of reducing the targets health to 1 and then "capturing" or "healing" them could be made more streamlined than having to switch weapons. I also wish I could turn around faster. Those are both nitpicks, though. My main actual complaint is the difficulty. The enemies come in unmanageable throngs and it quickly becomes overwhelming. I really like the visuals and audio, though, and I commend your success in completing a first person shooter with such a well realized visual style and gimmick in such a short time.
