LD46 — Keep it alive

XCAPE by Frozen Stick 2020-05-01T05:29:43Z

Interesting game man, I feel that the controls were a bit hard to get used to, found myself pressing the wrong controls a lot, I feel that the shoot and jump keys should be switched... feels a bit more comfortable that way? Also there were points where consecutive flashes happened out of nowhere, which kinda makes me wonder if the screen flashing is really necessary? Either way this was a neat little game, had some fun getting through the levels!

Mind Defender by Laura del Pino 2020-05-01T08:39:14Z

The theme of the game is very interesting, especially considering our current world haha. The game is a bit too easy however, I was rather surprised when I just found out it was just one level. Would've been interesting to see more levels with more mechanics, as it is rather simple (though it is a jam game so I can't fault you).

The towers could've been fleshed out more, as they just do the same thing (unless there's differences that I may have overlooked).

Still, nice job on the game.

Mauritius: The Last Odyssey by Greet 2020-05-02T00:57:49Z

You've got a nice idea here, graphics are cute, however the controls for the camera and gun are very weird. The camera is very jittery and the gun moves a bit too much per key press in my opinion.

The HUD for your currency blocks the turret too, so it can get rather annoying when you're trying to navigate a few dodos stuck in the bottom left corner.

Also I agree that there should be some sort of tutorial, as even after reading the description I was kind of just clicking around aimlessly unsure of what to do.

Angst by Silas Reinagel 2020-05-03T08:08:51Z

This game was engaging from start to finish, I really liked the dialogue, ambience and art.

I found that collecting the items relied on RNG half the time, as it took awhile for me to find a book that finally got rid of my Humiliation bar (which was confusing because I thought MP3 player + headphones helped mainly with that, which didn't work if I recall correctly, and I thought that "good vibes" related to the motivational posters).

I think a nice little addition to the HUD in the evil realm would be a stamina bar, just so the player could tell when they depleted their sprint.

I also found it odd that drinking coffee did not affect my paranoia bar, even though it suggests it would. I'm not too sure, never saw paranoia go up when I drank coffee.

Either way, you guys did a spectacular job on this game!

Keep it Olive! by Nathalia Hohl 2020-04-30T23:53:37Z

This fits nice for a nice little arcade style game very well, I think little intermissions would've been nice for the player, just so they could have a chance at saving their trees at harder parts.

The graphics are very nice on the main character, background and the monsters (I gotta say I love me the monster designs).

I cannot wait to see what you guys do with the finished build, as I think this concept can be expanded upon is fun and interesting ways.

I feel that items that have been commented on could have some sort of indicator that they could be commented on, though that may lessen the challenge in keeping your stream alive.

Either way, nice job and good luck in the making of the final build.

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-05-02T01:42:11Z

The writing was great, one of the best parts of the game; had me chuckling in certain points too.

I really like how you can bargain with villagers to gain things/mercenaries, I had the survivalist and I was very surprised to see that I could get out of the misty villager with her, I honestly didn't expect parts like that, my ast self is very stupid for not taking her earlier haha.

It took awhile for me to collect the relics, not sure how to find all of them consistently, but that may be me overlooking something.

The backgrounds were also very nice, they fit the medieval (I think that's what it is) aesthetic you guys were going for.

You guys did a great job with this game!

HYPERHOP: GALACTIC LANCER by Swanijam 2020-05-01T05:45:41Z

This game is super nice looking, I give you guys props for the stunning visual work. I do think it would've been cool to see each planet have their own way of attacking/killing them, as they all are rather similar, however I can't blame you since it is a jam game. I feel that the cutscene for entering the mouth is rather excessive with the zoom in. The game was pretty fun for what it is though, good job guys.

The Land I Live On by Danilo Freire 2020-05-01T00:58:17Z

The game's graphics are cute. I found myself getting a tad frustrated with the camera, as when you get close to walls it messes up and disorients the player. Mouse sensitivity was slow, probably could've been turned up a tad bit. Still, nice job on the game.

Gizmick! by Zliebowitz 2020-05-03T07:06:47Z

I like what you have here. I like how mechanics are introduced as you progress through the bosses, however, I found no use for the the double jump... I assume I was supposed to use to to my advantage during the 2nd boss, but found that hitting the 2nd boss regularly was good enough.

I did find it easy to cheese all the bosses which kind of got rid of the challenge. The third boss suffers from this the most, as I was able to dash through the guy and spam my sword basically beating him without effort.

This game had nice graphics and some killer music as well! Nice job on the game man.

PLOTOKOSTE-DUSHEPLOT by Nexonium 2020-04-30T23:43:23Z

The game was very interesting, I had a bit of trouble figuring out the mechanics of the consumables (I think vague descriptions could help out a bit), but found it out after some time... it would be good if there was a way to show what was craftable or not, since most of my time was spent being confused about that. Graphics were cute however the lack of sound was rather jarring, still a very interesting game.

Energence by noirdrive 2020-05-01T00:08:44Z

First I wanna say that the graphics are very nice, the backgrounds are nice as hell. I do think that wall jumping is a bit annoying, especially on that first wall jump section in the tutorial, and the functionality of the dash is also very confusing at first. Nice game though.

Zombie Movie Break by pr00thmatic 2020-05-03T05:37:29Z

The game is interesting, cool to see a doom inspired game once in awhile.

I do feel that the control to make the player move can be kind of annoying to use, especially when fighting a horde of zombies that chases you, I think I would've preferred mouse movement for this game.

The game also drags on with nothing really changing, I think added challenge as you cure the zombies would've been cool to see (though it is a jam game so I don't blame you).

Either way, nice job on the game!

Carryborn Megiddo by Xikuryas 2020-05-03T05:52:30Z

At first I was very confused about dying several time for seemingly no reason, until I took awhile to reread the description... what I take is that you're supposed to go fast enough in this game to avoid a fire? I know that there is a visual indicator of the fire approaching, yet I've died several times out of nowhere, even with the baby being healthy.

I also had the problem of my up key scrolling the page, which did not at all ruin the experience for me, but either way it is still a bit annoying as I had to keep scrolling down to see the wires.

I think the game could have used a bit more obstacles in it, especially when you get further in your run. This game would seem like a very fun game to get progression in.

Anyways nice job on the game fellas, I really liked the graphics.
