Great job on the visuals! Really clean looking game. As a vegetarian, I love that the chicks were holding up little "Eat plants" signs. Might have been a good opportunity to show what really happens to the male chicks...

Anyways, fun little game, I enjoyed playing it! I was drawn to it because I also made a game about chickens :)

noethelazydev 2017-12-04 17:00

A good game overall, but it's a pity that the chicken grabbing and spawning is a bit glitchy. BTW you made that with Godot right?

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-04 17:04

Yes, we made it with Godot. We learnt it on the fly, XD. There are several "tricks" that we will publish on the following days. Also, we will try to upload an Android version.

@misterstripey, Eat Plants sign was a resitance symbol! We were a little concerned about the poor chicks...

noethelazydev 2017-12-04 17:18

My game was made with Godot too, what a wonderful engine, isn't it?

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-04 22:36

Yes, I personally tested Godot a few months a go, and I felt it a little bit buggy. But now is pretty cool! Thanks for the comments, and the ratings! We will rate you back.

Funny game, with really clean graphics. Sad that sometimes the chicken grabbing was not totally perfect, but nobody's perfect and the game's very clean and polished for a jam.

And we don't see games about chicken's gender studies that often !

seanw 2017-12-05 01:00

Hahaha very funny! I would have liked a softer difficulty curve though. I found it a bit fast lol. But the graphics are incredible! Very clean! Great job and congrats!

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-05 09:19

Thank you very much for your comments. @lautregars, we are looking into object grabbing, as is a recurrent comment. Probably in an update... @SeanW, also difficult curve: was one of the things to review.

miguel-polvora 2017-12-05 11:09

Good job I liked the graphics. Well inserted on the theme. Congrats!

kokirisandfriends 2017-12-05 11:52

Controls are a bit glitchy in Mac version because I try to pick chickens but it's too hard :( however the graphics are clean and awesome! Nice idea and I love the "eat plants" slogan xD

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-05 11:55

Thanks for the comments! @kokirisandfriends we are working on improving controls. Chich's slogan was all about our concern about their poor destiny... :)

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-05 18:34

We have published first revision, with some bug fixing.

===========================

**POST LUDUM-DARE UPDATES:**

**v.1.0.1: Bugs fixing.**

Really cool graphics und great idea for the theme! For some reason I thought I have to sort the eggs, that turned out to be wrong ;) Thumbs up!!

xarras 2017-12-05 18:58

Fun game! It has a great sense of humour and keeps you engaged until the end. Graphics are very funny with those arms :D I'd suggest spawning less chicks since sometimes you end up graving more than one, and maybe increase them overtime.

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-05 19:00

Thanks for your comments! Yes, @xarras, that is the next thing to review, as it was already commented. @glock00, you're right!! Only chicks need to be sorted!

nightsong 2017-12-05 19:40

Wow, the artwork is really colourful and I love the fact that you put a chick as the mousecursor in the menu. That's also a nice hint at what's to come, that you'll actually be moving chicks around using said cursor! :) The game softlocked after I got fired. Couldn't find any key to restart or quit the game. So this might be a feature worth adding. I managed pretty well to sort the chicks but I think I was just lucky that I didn't encounter any gender neutral ones or I'd have to improvise... ;)

I found that the strategy that worked the best for me was to clear the line of all chicks by just grabbing them and dropping in the top left corner or dunk them in the basket. Somehow it kept scoring and removing them all (based on first grabbed type?). Since the theme was about it beeing worse the more you have I think you could consider starting the game at a slower pace and increasing it. This would lead to longer sessions and a real panic when it pumps out more than you can handle.

Overall you did well, it's a nice game jam game and I hope to see more from you in the coming jams! :)

And if you have a few minutes to spare I would love if you gave our game a go and maybe you can give us some good ideas on what we could have done differently or maybe some feature we missed out on (besides having more coffee and chicks in the game) ;D https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/paperwork

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-05 20:06

Thank you very much @nightsong for your great feedback! Picking more than one chick at a time is a bug, but we are considering it as a feature, as it's really fun! Yep, the idea was more sleep is worse, but no chicken. Althoug, we might reduce generation speed on next update... Same for coffe. Sure, we will rate you back. Thank you very much for the effort!!

reality-blind 2017-12-05 23:14

Fun and beautiful game, good job ! :D

thomas-higgins 2017-12-06 01:22

Seemes like an awsome and fun game though for some reason placing the chickens in the boxes did not score me any points

5you 2017-12-06 01:39

Everything has been said ! Controls were weird, but yes, gg

robotsandmuffins 2017-12-06 08:39

Thanks!! @thomas-higgins, you need to sort at least 5 chicks of one gender to get the points! :) We are looking now into the controls / difficult curve. Probably we will be able to generate an Android apk. Thanks everyone:we reached 20 rates!

fugu 2017-12-06 08:57

Very fun game !

billeclipse 2017-12-06 09:03

Fun game indeed :D
