really cool. good sound and great art

dragonzbw 2017-04-25 00:33

Nice! Cool game idea. Seems like it could be a mobile game.

dgspitzer 2017-04-25 00:49

Thanks!! @vince @dragonzbw

dgspitzer 2017-04-25 00:49

Gonna get some sleep zzz

demyhallar 2017-04-30 13:59

Hi, I can't open the Mac link. Did you archive the app file before the upload? Because otherwise the auto-archiving on itch.io broke the app file. Could you please archive it by yourself and upload the already zipped file?

dgspitzer 2017-05-01 04:07

@demyhallar Thanks! Just reupload mac version. Could you please try again? Cuz I don't have any macbook around me to test...

josefalanga 2017-05-01 05:15

This game looks sexy!

szczebel1995 2017-05-01 05:18

Great game, With the music and graphic it reminds me Trine :D, amazing entry

john-holden 2017-05-01 05:20

Hey! Really liked the idea of your game! Nice music, very interesting puzzles come into play, and I got stuck for a little while on a few of them. Definitely nice. However, on one of the later levels I clicked on the wrong mushroom by accident, and wanted to restart. When i pressed esc, I lost my progress and was back at the main menu. Besides no pausing or restarting, i really loved the idea of the game and how you executed on it.

wtoa 2017-05-01 05:20

Fantastic game and the way the level progresses is great, you don't throw all the concepts at the player at once but rather you take steps to introduce the different mechanics level by level.

crazi456 2017-05-01 05:27

Wow, the visuals are amazing! Sound effects are great. Puzzles are well designed, great work overall!

chronosv2 2017-05-01 05:51

Fantastic game, and really good mechanic introduction! I struggled with the Scarlet mushroom and stopped at that point (need to get to sleep) but that was a really cool twist to the game.

for-science 2017-05-01 08:22

Amazing art style and polished presentation. Audio and music are on point and create a great mood in combination with the aesthetic. The gameplay is solid as well. A neat little puzzle game with in interesting combo mechanic that is challenging and relaxing at the same time.

Overall, great job!

arcticmattekar 2017-05-01 08:22

I love the relaxing atmosphere. The music reminds me a lot of Trine (which is good ;)). It took me a round to realize there were combos. The gameplay is fun and the graphics are very beautiful. Love it

bacontree 2017-05-01 08:44

Cool and original puzzle game. I really like the graphics! :)

fouralex 2017-05-01 09:06

I love the atmosphere: gorgeous graphics and beautiful sounds. Good interpretation of "A little world". Works perfectly for me!

eveningwayward 2017-05-01 09:54

Truly hypnotizing visuals. That's probably the best use of particles I've seen for a while on Ludum Dare. It would also be great to see an extended version of game in future.

awesomealliterationalliance 2017-05-01 19:12

solid entry! very innovative gameplay, pleasent atmosphere and great leveldesign. nice job!

spav 2017-05-01 21:06

It looks amazing. Together with sound, they created so much atmosphere that I can feel it in my guts ;) You stick to the theme very well. Good job.

junjunlowpoly 2017-05-01 21:12

Amazing graphics and sound. Interesting concept and nicely designed levels. Looks almost like a release version game.

awpteamoose 2017-05-02 02:57

This is really great. Levels have obvious solutions once you stop and think about it, but you can't (for the most part, at least) sleepwalk through them. It also looks and sounds incredible, especially blue/red spore effects.

Hint for 1-12: there's literally an arrow pointing at how to approach.

andyman404 2017-05-02 07:00

Excellent work! This is a very well made and polished game. I loved the aesthetics and audio, not to mention the well thought out puzzles. You should definitely continue and release a full version of this game on an app store. Congrats for finishing your first Ludum Dare!

jackyjjc 2017-05-02 11:35

Aren't you the author of the indie game Eddy紫? It is great to meet you! :D Your game is very beautiful and the puzzle is very innovative. I love the little indicators you have put on top the mushrooms to help the player determines how the propagation works. The difficulty curve was nicely design, the 3rd level was definitely a difficulty jump but it did make me understand how the mechanics really works. I wish the music notes can make a rhythm when it get triggers in a chain.

Overall very good entry, well done! It will make a solid puzzle game if there are more levels :)

roberto-romao 2017-05-02 11:59

Oh boy, this was a sweet experience. This graphics mixed with the glom and the camera create a unique mood to this small world....

I will just gave a warning, sometimes the spore (gloom) effect is too light! On level six it hurts my eyes a little. Besides that, good job ! :D

smeax 2017-05-02 12:19

Awesome game. The graphics are fantastic and it's also a bit challenging. Well done!

orcolom 2017-05-02 14:25

Nice graphics, they look really 'shrooms'-like. the game made me really thing how to chain things

rongo-matane 2017-05-02 17:03

Easily the best game i have seen so far, really really good! The visuals are great, the music is so pleaseant, so it has a really nice mood. The concept is understandable very fast and you already iterated on the core concept so much, so you already have some levels and variation! I love the controls, very smooth and intuitive.

I got stuck on level 10. I understand what to do, but couldn't form a tactic yet on how to achieve it best. I think that's because i can't anticipate easily what the results of the red mother will be.

A good game as it is, incredible for an LD. Nice!

berkano 2017-05-02 17:39

Absolutely stunning game in all aspects (visual, sound effects and background music). Gentle learning curve and then it gets challenging ... Addictive! Awesome work. By far the most impressive game I've seen so far in LD38. :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom:

gleb-mineev 2017-05-02 18:29

Wow, that is so solid, that I would never say that it was developed in 3 days by 1 person if I saw it somewhere else. 5 stars on all applicable criteria. BTW, what did you used to make the music?

theclinthennesy 2017-05-02 18:30

Hi! So I played the game and got into it pretty quick.

The game was really easy to learn and pretty intuitive. I didn't get too far though! :D

If there's anything I can appreciate, it's the art. The way how the mushroom and the SFX contrasts so much looks incredible. Did you guys have some sort of concept art stage before executing all this? :D

Man. I just love the graphics. Great game over all! :D Definitely remembering this game. :D

gerardb 2017-05-02 20:52

Best game so far hands down! Plus you are a one man team, more like a one man army!

I also took a look at your portfolio and oh man you have talent. Good job, keep it up!

graveyardrain 2017-05-02 21:00

Fantastic visual presentation and sound design! Excellent job on a design for a simple but elegant game. One thing I noticed, though, was that the sfx for the spores spreading to mushrooms was a bit jarring at times - maybe a more set range of harmonic values for their tones might be a bit more fitting to the mood of the game. Overall very impressive!

samusoidal 2017-05-02 21:46

Excellent audio and graphics! The puzzles are challenging but not impossible (though I did get stuck on the Scarlet Mother level), and the mood is amazing. Good job!

jdmazz 2017-05-03 03:00

This whole game is awesome. It feels very good start to finish. Puzzles and display are professional.

uvwar 2017-05-03 04:03

Very nice game! I couldn't get through all of it, but what I saw (and heard) was excellent!

zorg 2017-05-03 07:03

Cool game, great level of polish. I played to level ~13 (not entirely sure, had to stop and get some sleep) and i'm really bad at this game. It has pretty basic mechanics but it's hard! The grapics are very nice, the sound cascades are fun, everything looks coherent. Sometimes i wished to have some more control over the camera, zooming out or fly a bit higher to have more overview, but it's manageable. Great entry! :)

mikea 2017-05-03 09:27

Very cool game. Love the aesthetics

chloravirgo 2017-05-03 11:07

A nice puzzle game! I think if you polish it a bit more it could be a good project for mobile devices, for example. I would recommend changing the fonts for the computer version of the game, because it's too large and wide and so hard to read on a big screen.

ithildin 2017-05-03 13:05

I've loved this one! The concept is a clever take on the theme, and all of the game's elements "click": The atmosphere, defined by the beautiful visuals (I personally love the nightly dark-purple + neon palette), and the sound effects and music, have a kind of dreamy, fairytale vibe that I like a lot. Besides, the game mechanic is well thought and solid, with some interesting puzzles, and a balanced sense of pacing in my opinion.

As for things to improve...well, just to nitpick anything, some minor small quality of life improvements, such as a restart button, could be nice.

One of the best entries I've rated so far. Congratulations! :D

rodancheg 2017-05-03 17:49

I don't have any comment to say how cool is this game! It's really enjoyable! Thank you, Japanese Guys!

themadstrauss 2017-05-03 18:29

Simple and clever. I forget the rest of the world while i was trying it. Plim plom plom plom plim. Really like it.

spaceman 2017-05-03 19:01

The audio and visuals come together really nicely. The difficulty curve seems pretty good and the puzzles actually require some critical thought. I liked it a lot.

henrybell 2017-05-03 19:18

Stunning! I spent far too much time playing this game XD ... Best game of LD38 I've played so far

kabalatrance 2017-05-03 20:28

Great job guys, one of the best games I played on LD38. I love the difficulty curve, graphics, atmosphere...Everything!!

chunkybrewster 2017-05-03 22:36

Simple fun gameplay, very well laid out levels, perfect fitting music and sfx - overall a super polished enjoyable game!

dennyrocketdev 2017-05-03 22:52

Damn this game is good! I mean the visuals are absolutely stunning. You effortlessly bring art, sounds and the effects together, it is just beautiful. The game design is solid as well, it took me a while to get the what the game was about and the combo things, but it was fun. There were two things that take away from an otherwise great game. The mechanics were a bit lackluster and felt repetitive after a while, I think you needed to introduce some more mechanics to keep it fresh. Also the effects were so blown out that it actually took away some of the clarity needed to see what is actually going on.

BUT, overall, one of the best LD38 games!

those-30-ninjas 2017-05-03 23:07

Really impressive game for one person, or any amount of people really. Interesting mechanic. Lovely graphics and sound. Well done.

mooncalf 2017-05-04 03:06

This is excellent. The puzzles are well thought out. The pacing is good. Art and music work really well together. One of the best I've played so far.

funkensteins-monster 2017-05-04 03:32

This is one of the best games I've played for sure. Great particle effects and puzzle design. As someone mentioned above, you do a great job introducing the mechanics one by one and then combining them once the player has a good understanding of how they work. Great job!

grasswhopper 2017-05-04 06:41

very great game, top notch sound quality, graphics, and very innovative game, honestly, im feeling quite jealous :D hopefully i'll reach that level of skill someday. but yeah, very good game man. i did love when the red mushroom arrives, it adds a really neat dynamic into the game. plus, everything simply looks Great ! may i ask about your thought process while planning to make the game? it was neat. love it

cloudlunar 2017-05-04 08:18

I love this game. Everything is really nice. One suggestion: Maybe you should add level-selection buttons, or the player should replay from the 1st level every time.

paperclipbadger 2017-05-04 10:18

This is an absolutely stunning game. I got stuck for a good while on 1-11, but after that I think the difficulty curve dropped off ever-so-slightly. Also, in the later stages of a level, it feels like it doesn't really matter where you start the spore wave, since at that point all of your mushrooms are connected. Perhaps if the spore wave had a shorter range than your click, it'd still matter tactically where in your mass of blue mushrooms you start the wave.

The frame rate **tanked** on my laptop though, which was strange because this doesn't look like a particularly demanding game. Turning the quality down turned the little range ring into blue smudge that made it difficult to see what was going on. What's going on under the hood graphically?

hdteav 2017-05-04 13:09

Amazing graphics. Fantastic music. Awesome gameplay. My favorite so far. :ok_hand: 10/10

alex-lutay 2017-05-04 14:07

##### First thoughts The game totally works in every plane - visuals, audio, gameplay. There's nothing to add and nothing to take away. I was very immersed. Puzzles made my gears spin, sometimes grind. But the atmosphere kept me playing.

##### Art Visuals are just astonishing. That ultra-violet style sells game only by one screenshot. Particle effects are on point, as all those simple, but very fitting animations.

In other words - I liked the graphics very much!

##### Audio It's perfect. Minimalistic and unobtrusive music accompanied by gentle effects. Gosh, it makes me jealous!

##### Overall This game is solid ten out of ten. Or five out of five LD wise.

@dgspitzer, thank you for such great game!

gao-ming 2017-05-04 15:12

guoboism 2017-05-05 08:24

唯美的解密游戏!体验非常棒!动态性的机制也很值的研究!

palemachine 2017-05-05 09:44

Love me some puzzle games, and this one has a very satisfying core mechanic, great puzzle design, sexy visuals and sweet music. Loved it!   UI feels a bit out of tune with the general style of the rest of the game, but it's fine!

dgspitzer 2017-05-05 17:27

@jackyjjc Wow! How do you know Eddy紫?! I'm actually working on the English version of that for Steam Greenlight right now!

@gleb-mineev I used FL Studio to compose my music~

@theclinthennesy Haha thank you! Actually I didn't dig too much into concept art for this game, just draw one or two pages of sketch before the start.

@rodancheg Thank you! Eh...Konichiwa? I'm Chinese though but whatever lol.

@grasswhopper Haha no problem. Be honest I just use my regular "morning meditation" time to think about the gameplay (on day 1). There were two - three ideas in my dream however I think the mushroom one is the best! I used to know how mushroom's spore spread (plant some of them in my balcony) and it could be a really good visual idea for a puzzle game - everything is manageable in my scale. The development process is kinda reversed than I normaly does. I took day 1 to frame the visual & Music/SFX (changing game design simultaneously on paper); day 2 to build the code structure and day 3 for level design. :sunglasses:

@paperclipbadger Yeah you got the point. That's the major part for the gameplay that need to be improved. Probably if I gonna work on this in the future, I need figure this out first. :joy:

@gao-ming 谢谢高鸣兄!

@guoboism 哈哈谢谢!~

dantewang 2017-05-06 08:13

画面和音乐配合的相当完美!关卡设计一流,体验很棒,连击的感觉特别棒!

pschichtel 2017-05-06 12:32

Sadly no Linux version.

jin47 2017-05-06 12:49

Kind of poetic. I really enjoyed this puzzle game. THe soundtrack and the graphisms are really great. the concept itself is strong and could totally be scaled to a real production game for mobile for example! great job!

dgspitzer 2017-05-06 13:06

@dantewang @jin47 Thank you haha~

dgspitzer 2017-05-06 13:06

@pschichtel Just published a Linux version for you~

samlo 2017-05-06 13:18

Really awesome, super beautiful puzzle game. One of my favorite entries yet. Awesome job!

adroitconceptions 2017-05-06 13:40

very pretty puzzle game

UI need to scale with screen size.. I often run games at 960x540 (1/4 of my screen resolution - 1/2 each way) for performance reasons. had to run it at full resolution which made the frame rate low.

beta 2017-05-06 14:45

Really neat game with curious puzzle mechanics. Good Job!

nickzangus 2017-05-06 16:26

Your art is amazing! Great puzzle game, really innovative. Good job!

maggardjosh 2017-05-06 19:07

Great graphics, music, and gameplay. A really simple yet engaging mechanic. The difficulty ramps up at a good rate and you do a good job of introducing the player to new mechanics. I did get stuck at the Scarlet Mother level, but really enjoyed everything up until then. Good job!

jhandsy 2017-05-06 23:51

That was really excellent! Thanks for the great experience! I got to the end, which wasn't easy!

I understand that the early levels were meant to illustrate the mechanics, which you did beautifully, but I feel like they could have been ever so slightly more challenging. The difficulty at the end was marvelous, though!

I hope you pursue this game further! I would love to play it on my phone!

skosnowich 2017-05-07 05:52

The athmosphere of the game is really great and I like the different mechanisms of the mushrooms. I have to admit that I didn't come that far, because the difficulty rose too fast in my opinion (or let's say: it rose too fast **for me**). Nonetheless it is a great game where the music, sounds and graphics all blend perfectly together.

tobia88 2017-05-08 04:35

Nice graphic, music and interactive feedback, highest overall and game completion i played so far, the amount and game levels definitely satisfy me.

There's only uncomfortable to me is there's too much white glowing effect, they surprise me in the first but they blind me in the last.

Beside it, i love whole of the game, well done well mood.

philomory 2017-05-09 18:17

This is a _very_ well-designed puzzle game, with a _lot_ more levels than I was expecting. It's a unique mechanic, and I really liked the variations you came up with and how they inter-related. I thought that the first Scarlet Mother was going to be the "boss", but no, it was just another awesome puzzle mechanic that you used to build several levels. I spent much more time on this than I "should" have (in terms of getting to the next game on my list), but it was time well-spent. I really hope to see more of this in the future.

If I had one complaint, though, I'd suggest some slight tweaks to the controls. I felt like my control over the camera was somewhat... slippery? Is the only word I can think of? Like the camera was sliding around more than I really wanted it to. It also would have been nice to be able to rotate and zoom the camera to see the scene from a different perspective.

dgspitzer 2017-05-10 13:46

@samlo @beta @nickzangus @maggardjosh @skosnowich Thanks man!~

@jason-kennedy @jhandsy @tobia88 @philomory There are pretty good ideas~ Got your advises! Thx!

rac-games 2017-05-10 16:42

Amazing art, challenging and good looks 11/10 best game I tested so far

could you rate ours back!

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-last-acorns

To earn some coolness! :P

wizcas 2017-05-13 03:46

膜拜大谷

This is the best game I played in this LD. The graphics and audio are so fantastic and every detail is perfectly dealt with. The depth of field effect on the camera makes the scene even more beautiful and immersive.

It is admirable how you designed the levels and different types of fungus in 72 hours, which makes this game pretty solid. I really wanna see this game on market and I'll definitely buy!

zarkith 2017-05-14 01:59

If this doesn't make any top 25's, I'll eat my hat.

And I don't even wear hats, so I'll start wearing hats just so I can eat them.

**EDIT: CALLED IT**

piller-yann 2017-05-16 20:28

Woow ! Very buztiful game et very fun. It's the best game I have tested . I think you must create a Android version of this game !^^

2022-03-14 13:27

Lovely one indeed, great polish and vibes

2023-03-08 04:55

I want to plat this game. Its trailer is as vivid as [World's Hardest Game](https://worldshardestgame3.com). But I still want to try it out. Where can we play it?
