Very fun.

lerg 2018-04-23 04:21

@Pahlsoftware thank you!

padenpierry 2018-04-23 05:21

I love SC2 so this is sooo good!

lerg 2018-04-23 05:25

@PadenPierry yay! Have you played the first Dune? I was also inspired by that a bit. Hopefully SC2 players won't break the game with their insane APM.

habeeb-mohammed 2018-04-23 05:31

amazing! love the gameplay!

thezingthing 2018-04-23 08:32

Cool game. Clicking bit is too easy and I think it would be cool if there was a production time on the units to reward placing multiple factories, but besides that this is a pretty cool game. Well done!

lerg 2018-04-23 10:42

@Habeeb Mohammed thank you! @TheZingThing much appreciated. A lot of features were cut down to speed up the development, another idea I had was to click for ammo and a special clicking unit, that was clicking on everything it could.

thinkofname 2018-04-23 11:52

This game looks great and has pretty good music and sounds as well. I really love the art style. It took a bit to work out the game but once I did it was pretty fun!

tygrak 2018-04-23 11:53

That was a pretty fun game! Like others said having production time for the factories would make it a bit more interesting. Creating like 3 robots every time was really fun :D. I loved the artstyle.

hanra 2018-04-23 12:28

Fun mechanics, and you're super on theme.

I had problems with music on the HTML5 version (firefox) but other than that it was fun.

shimapleleaf 2018-04-23 13:10

My factory spawned units on a place where they couldn't get away, rendering them useless. Overall a really fun game. Music is among the best I've heard so far!

sophie 2018-04-23 13:12

The game is really good-looking, and it sounds pretty good too! I had fun while it lasted, but this game quickly brought my very reasonably-specced OSX laptop to its laggy knees in Chrome, Firefox, and the downloaded version alike...

alexander-danilovsky 2018-04-23 19:05

cool! and the idea and the game I liked!

sandy-marcius 2018-04-23 22:54

Got lost a bit in the beginning, but quickly understood the gameplay and I have to say it was fun!

roman-petrov 2018-04-23 23:03

Thanks for the web build! Great game, Sergey!

ben-pearson 2018-04-24 00:14

I like the game overall, it would be nice if it would keep the dialog open. It was a bit confusing to start with. Take a look at my video below for an idea of what I experienced.

https://youtu.be/10y6Mij3ee8?t=4m8s

ponywolf 2018-04-24 01:44

That was great! I'm not usually an RTS or a clicker guy, but I like the automation of resources angle. I'll have to com back and play it some more when I have more time!

vidsneeze 2018-04-24 02:49

Nice combo. overall it's really fun. will be come back to finish the game later

formalcloud 2018-04-24 03:00

This was a great take on the theme and a lot of gameplay to sink my teeth into! Excellent job!

lerg 2018-04-24 10:36

@Ben Pearson thanks for playing and streaming the game! I agree it is a bit confusing, but you got the gist of it pretty quick. I will see what I can do about it.

lerg 2018-04-24 10:39

@thinkofname @tygrak @hanra @shimapleleaf @sophie @alexander-danilovsky @sandy-marcius @roman-petrov @ponywolf @vidsneeze @formalcloud thank you all guys very much for such kind feedback!

gipzo 2018-04-24 10:41

Great game, loved the idea to gather resources as in a clicker game

I think it will be better if production menu was on screen the whole time and units didn't lose focus after command

Visual style is awesome

selftitled 2018-04-24 14:53

Nice, like the graphics and the music is awesome. Fun stratedgy game with interesting mechanics, my finger hurts now though lol. I had an issue selecting the units sometimes. Also I'd like to be able to pitch the camera so I can see where my units are a bit easier. Good game, well done.

thebreakfast 2018-04-24 15:11

I loved this! I'm actually surprised by how thrilling it is too! I actually found myself on the edge of my seat a bit. The graphics are great, the music is super good, and the concept is so good! Not to mention it's also just a lot of fun. With a little more work, I think this could be a full game! The only downside is that the start menu didn't properly scale when switching to full screen mode, and the sound effects are a little low quality, but other than that you did an amazing job!

maskinmask 2018-04-25 09:54

So cooooooool! It's a mouse kill game. my finger was tried..

lerg 2018-04-25 11:08

@sophie I've improved the performance, you can try the updated versions and see if they run smoothly on your computer.

rainysolar 2018-04-25 17:26

Great combination. This game rewards my mouse click action very well. :D

lintfordpickle 2018-04-25 17:42

I really enjoyed this and found it a great combination. I kind of wish all the stuff I built in one level would pass on over to the next level (I was enjoying the auto-click so much). Great game though

stark 2018-04-25 17:47

Resources by clicking is very cool idea! Voxel graphics and music are nice as well =) I would suggest to hide Factory UI only for other units and return it back on clicking ground. Also difficulty is pretty low, heavy factory is overpowered =)

those-30-ninjas 2018-04-25 18:00

Web Player build was very laggy. But the downloaded build worked well. Love the graphics, nice concept, some balancing issues but I had fun.

nohatcoder 2018-04-25 18:08

Really nice. I had an issue on level 9, the base was behind the menu bar, so I couldn't select it, took me a while to figure that I could zoom. The world should probably be centred on the non-menu part of the screen, and default zoomed so that everything is reachable. Strategy-wise I have concluded that autoclickers are kind of useless, the time it takes to build them are way better spent spamming the click-button.

linus 2018-04-25 21:34

I had a lot of fun playing the game and I really like strategy games and appreciate the effort in jam games.

Good graphics and concept. Pretty innovative to combine a game like cookie clicker with an RTS. Although I didn't understand at first that you have to click to gather resources.

Another issue I had was that when I created a tower from the heavy factory it spawned on the left side of the building which was blocked off and so I couldn't use my tower. Having some way to delete buildings or making sure units don't spawn in blocked off areas would be good.

Great game with a nice polish

fashionbatman 2018-04-25 22:15

This was such an engaging clicker type game! You did really great on the them. That music is awesome too. Good job!

hare-software 2018-04-25 22:24

Great graphics, easy to play and a lot of fun! Well done guys!

theslate 2018-04-26 02:11

Nice RTS with some hidden depth. Good job!

trulyspinach 2018-04-26 07:10

Nice game!!! Excellent graphics and music, quite innovative as well Love it.

beelzeboss 2018-04-26 16:04

Awesome style and great execution. Also the music is nice.

ponywolf 2018-04-26 22:52

So, spent some more time with this today, and I do really like the concept. I think the actual clicking mechanic could be "juiced" a bit. I know you don't really click as much after building the auto clickers, but some sort of animation or big red button with a good thud sound when you press it would draw the player in faster. Maybe clicking on an auto clicker could make it work harder for a period of time.

All in all, nice job. All hail Lua.

morrilet 2018-04-27 01:15

So right off the bat the audio was great and the visuals were charming. I felt that it was a little difficult to control the units, though, and even harder to tell exactly what they were doing because they were a little slow. It was also hard to click the sometimes and I would've liked if units stayed selected. Aside from those minor gripes though, I think this was a super fun game and I'm really impressed that it was a compo entry. Great work!

diego-escalante 2018-04-27 05:53

Pretty well thought out game. The RTS and Clicker blend work surprisingly well together! Had a lot of fun. Great job!

curt 2018-04-27 19:15

I'd like to see this further developed, was very entertaining.

ithildin 2018-04-27 23:19

Great take on the theme, and quite solid for a compo game, with a lot of content. I really liked the music in particular.

Gameplay-wise I had a couple of issues with the controls that could stem from habit or expectations set when you've already played other RTS (I'm super far from an expert on the genre, but I've played quite a few for a long time):

* When I selected a construction (*Place*, most of the time), the fact that the selection reset every time was a bit annoying, specially at the beginning. I was expecting to keep doing the same, and it took me a while that to bring back the construction menu you had to click on the base again.

* Speaking of which, I had issues trying to "cancel" a placement action, even when there was a very obvious "Cancel" button on the panel . This is a clear case of that RTS habit. In other gamees you normally cancel by clicking on empty spaces or things like that. Since this is pretty subjective after all I'm not sure if it would make sense to just make the "Cancel" button stand out more when available, or place it closer to the buttons so they appear connected.

* I think I noticed a small bug: I'm not sure if it was because some of my units were actually long ranged and they deleted it, but I got the impression that one of the enemy units just disappeared out of a sudden.

Despite the wall of text I really enjoyed playing. Most of these things are subjective or could be relatively easy to sort out, and the core of the game already works really well, so I can see the potential.

Congrats!

Big update

Hey, I've just made a big update of the game. Mostly bug fixes and balance changes based on your feedback. So if you would like to, please play the game again and tell me how you like it now.

So the whole experience should be much smoother now. Still controls are not as convenient as in StarCraft, for instance no rectangular selection of multiple units, but hey, it's a clicker, just click more!

Thank you guys for your feedback, I enjoy very much your kind comments. I just love it when people play my games and like them.

Balance changes

- Most of the levels are redesigned to make them more interesting. - The game is much harder now. - Many units have been adjusted (health, speed, attack). - Auto Click now clicks twice as fast. - Plates cost less. - Factory and Heavy Factory cost more. - Robot is not that tall anymore.

New controls

- Units are controlled with right click now. - It's now possible to pan the camera with right click drag. - Added F and L keyboard actions (toggle fullscreen and restart level).

Bug fixes

- Huge performance improvement (reworked starfield shader). Now works in Chrome. - Resizing the game window and going fullscreen is now possible. - Unit spawning is now more logical. - Wasn't possible to switch unit attack target if it was nearby. - Build menu now stays open if unit is deselected or a building is placed. - Unit is not deselected on command. - Hovercraft is now easier to select. - Now possible to select enemy units and buildings. - Health and attack values are now visible on select. - Camera shake is now working when a building is destroyed. - Some sounds had a delay. - Many more small fixes and little enhancements.

Super cool graphics and audio. The combination of the genres was fusioned in a very practical way. The only thing is that doesn't seem so incompatible as clicking for harvesting resources is something common but the game is great. Nice work!

schuster 2018-04-29 13:47

Very fun game, I think I've played this the longest of any so far!

pkenney 2018-04-30 03:17

Very clever twist, making the costs ramp up similarly to the way the clicker economy works! This looked and sounded great, and the feel was nicely solid as well. It was a lot to have thrown at me, but I felt like you kept it manageable... or as manageable as StarCraft can be!

Nicely executed and clever design -- great well-rounded compo entry!

hanra 2018-05-03 13:06

The new version is better balanced, the audio works for me now, feels generally more fast paced. I like it.

mgsx 2018-05-05 18:12

it become very difficult at level 3 but it's a very nice game, well done !

cristiano-m-garcia 2018-05-13 03:38

Great fun. Art is very simple and can be improved, but has a personality of its own. Congratulations!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

larryseinfeld 2018-05-14 16:53

Omg yes! I love this idea. Fun little bite-sized RTS thanks to the clicker blend. Love the visual style, love the music, and love placing those plates to get myself some auto-clicking and double clicking while I focus on my army. really cool game!
