The graphics, music and gamplay are really nice!. It took me a while to figure what to do with the boxes. Well done!

Great game! Graphics are amazing, and the ambience feels nice too! Maybe some tutorial or story would be nice in order to get a bit more inmersed!

Keep up the good work people!

Music get's old quick. Give a small tutorial in beginning. Gameplay gets boring after 5-10 mins.

Nice game overall, controls worked fairly well and enemies behaviour was cool. Think it would've been sweet to be a bit more fast paced maybe, sort of like a 2D Dungeon Dashers. Maybe some more warning on when bombs were going to explode and where skulls were incoming would've been nice too! But great effort!

Gorgeous pixel art graphics. Agree with the other comments that a tutorial would be a great next step to take. Great work!

Really nice work! Great graphics, nice sound effects and fun arcade-style gameplay. I played a couple of rounds, got a high score of 4100. Really good job!

Neat to see DrPetter's name in a Ludum Dare again! Art looks super nice.

Solid collisions on the boxes instead of slowing down the character would have been nice. And I found using the bombs to actually attack the enemies is quite hard. Is there any sort of end state? I couldn't figure out what was happening with the opening and closing doors.

Hey good game with some coincidences with mine. Always like retro playability. Maybe presentation screen? Good done!

palmish 2016-12-16 23:38

DrPetter did all graphics for this.
We also used his sfxr for sound effects.

There is no end state. We considered opening the center door, and that exiting through it would "win" the game. We didn't have time to do a win screen, though.

Great art! I also really liked that the sound effects matched the music well (I'm thinking it was the delay that suited the echo-y, ambient music).

One minor suggestion would be to have a restart prompt or something when you die (I thought the game had crashed at first).

This was really good! The atmosphere was on point. Keep up the good work :)

Very cute and nicely animated main character.
Even the simplistic beat fits the scenario.
I know clubs where people dance to this kind of music the whole night.
Game was a bit laggy on my browser.

Very nice. Fun little game with nice graphics and audio.

My only criticisms would be that the ending felt slightly abrupt, and some kind of visual queue for the bomb detonation time would be nice. But otherwise a very solid and well polished entry.

that's why I love arcade styled games. Nice song, but gets old pretty quickly.

Stellar graphics!

Had fun playing this game. Would've been nice to not have enemies spawn on me and for the game to restart itself instead of having to reload the page (Firefox). Maybe add some lives? Liked putting away the boxes and the graphics and music were top notch! Solid entry. :)

Great graphics and control. It took me a moment to figure out I couldn't kill enemies with boxes, but after that it went much more smoothly.
